We love it here! The location is fab. Parking just across the road near the theatre. It’s friendly and no frills. You cannot get a better spot close to the centre.
Nothing

Breakfast was really good
Only saw the entertainment on Thursday night singer was very good enjoyed it
View from our bedroom wasn’t very good as the house/hotel opposite was horrendous and loads of rubbish in the garden but that wasn’t hotels fault.
3.4
a nice break in a granney hotel it was fun even the enteranment was good
the bed could have been bigger and it needs a shower not just over the bath
3.4
Friendly staff and a clean hotel. Comfortable bed and decent water pressure in the shower. Good location and easy access to a very reasonably priced public outdoor car park. Breakfast was good quality for the price paid.
Room size was slightly smaller than I'm used to but it is an older traditional seaside town hotel. We were on the top floor and for a summery day in a room with no Aircon meant the room was stuffy. Due to the room being so warm we needed to sleep with the windows open which for a seaside hotel with nearby nesting seagulls we were woken early from around 0630. Finally the room partition wall and a few squeaky floor boards meant surrounding rooms were very audible.
The price we paid was about right (if a little on the pricey side) when factoring in these issues. A good option for many though as long as you are prepared on these points.

Quiet
I didn't realise the hotel catering for coach parties of elderly people.
Breakfast wasn't included.

Breakfast was good, service excellent, location was fantastic, bedroom need updating, a lick of paint can do wonders.
Creaky floor, uneven.
3.4
Fairly large size room. Sea view. Parking available on site (limited).
It is not a standard type of hotel, but a “coach hotel”. Receiving elderly citizens. Not ideally suitable for families with children, or couples traveling around the UK.

Staff was helpful
Hotel was shabby, way past it's best, rooms poor and not clean and not fit for purpose
Very very poor

Breakfast good location excellent
The hotel is in need of a refurbishment wallpaper coming of the wall and paintwork rough

Clean hotel rooms ok
Very poor slow breakfast service not enough staff for the job badly organised ended up walking to wethaspoons on the second morning fed up of waiting

Reception staff were pleasant, and the hotel is in a fantastic location and the room was a good size.
Cleanliness, huge cobweb hanging from the ceiling which obviously had just appeared overnight.
Breakfast was a terrible set up... wait to be seated and no one came, 3 members of staff running around with no plan on who and how they were serving people. Had to ask for glasses for juice - young lad very helpful. Had to ask for coffee, had it almost thrown at us by the older gentleman who then was very rude when we asked how to order breakfast, eventually got given the most overcooked food I've seen.
Sat and watched lots of others who arrived after us get served and witnessed 2 others complan. DIDN'T BOTHER TO EVEN HAVE BREAKFAST THE 2ND MORNING!

staff were friendly
the english full breakfast was not the best

lovely old building (once owned by my grandparents). has seen better days but obvious they’re trying their best to maintain it and it’s perfectly acceptable for such an old hotel
just tiny details of aging

Breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent

The room was a good size & had a good outlook. The breakfast was very good. The location was ideal for the theatre.
The check in time was 4pm, wished it could have been earlier. The car park only had enough space for 6 cars which was far too small for the number of guests.

Very relaxed athmosphere comfortable bed

The receptionist was a very helpful young lady who got us an electric heater for our room as the radiator didn’t work . She is an asset the company
Radiator didn’t work even after a man tried to fix it

good central location, clean comfortable hotel with efficient staff, the reception and lounge area is large and comfortable with a nice bar, all in all a perfectly good reasonable priced hotel and i would definitely stay again and recommend to anybody else.
The building is well over 100 years old as are most of the buildings in Ilfracombe so things like creaky and uneven floorboards and noise levels were noticeable but they have done the best they can and i prefer a hotel with character rather than a cold and clinical travel lodge, this hotel is linked up with Alfa coach holidays and cater a lot for holidaying pensioners, some of which enjoyed a regular moan at reception, there is bingo and entertainment most nights, i didn't pay for meals as there in a big Wetherspoons 2 mins walk away plus many mainly fish related restaurants in town, i didn't pay for a sea view and it looks like the Landmark theatre would obscure most of the view out the front unless maybe if you're on the top floor, there is a lift that serves all floors which is good as the restaurant is on the first floor, the car park has 7 spaces and i managed to park in there for all of my visit, not sure if there were spaces because it was off season or because most of the customers arrive on a coach, there is a public car park opposite.
