Room was clean and service was good. However, wifi did not work the entire stay and staff were not responsive to this.
No wifi and no attempt to fix it. It was only available in the pub. Also, food was not very good.

Food was good room nice and clean also quiet
Said parking was available when booking but told not available when we arrived. Most staff very nice although one behind bar late at night was not so chatty when we tried to converse.

The room was very nicely modernised, but retro styled.
Wi-Fi was non existent and the sky box location could have been better.
Two pin ‘shaver / toothbrush’ socket in shower room wasn’t functional.

Clean and fresh.
Great shower.
Good food and drinks.
Advertised as Bed and Breakfast but no breakfast was available.
Advertised as having parking on site but none was allowed any more!

The room was beautiful, set in a separate building at the side of the pub itself, with its own stone staircase up to the rooms.
The 4 poster room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed with dressing table and wardrobe along with a sofa.
The meals in the peacock were wonderful and the staff were friendly.
No breakfast on offer, and the pub closed at around 8 to half past, which was somewhat disappointing.
4.5 / 5.0
The room was separate to the pub and therefore nice and quiet. The four poster bed is a nice touch and really comfortable. The bathroom was done to a high standard and super clean.
The check in process wasn't the best. They couldn't find our booking which I accept that sometimes these things don't come through straight away when you book last minute but I didn't find their response very positive. It was almost like it was our fault. The girl behind the bar also could have done with putting a smile on her face!

The room we got in the end was fine, except the internet didn't work in there, unless the horrible man turned it off.
The staff! The man that met us on reception was vile. He lost our booking, took us to the wrong room that smelled like drains. He eventually took us to the right room after making us wait and didn't even offer us a drink (paid or not), and slammed the keys down and told us that check out was 10am and stormed off shaking his head like we were the problem. Vile little man, would not recommend or stay again. Felt so uncomfortable. Do not stay here. The locals in the pub on the same road said they don't know any local that drinks in their due to that man.

Good location
The pub itself shut up at 20.00 so had to go elsewhere. The room was noisy due to generators or aircon units buzzing all night with the windows open.

It was clean
on Monday morning the market opens at 5:00 so tractor starts operating at 4:10 to put stall in place. We only discovered this fact when we arrived Sunday night. The wifi did not work and the owner Graham and Tricia where in total denial about this, like emu’s with head in the sand. Their response was the most infuriating fact, total denial , and no apology. Also the TV did not work , so they blame it on the previous guests. you

Very nice, big room. Extremely clean and quiet. Great location
Hotel didn't seem to have a record of our booking so we didn't get the room we booked (4 poster bed, ground floor). The bed was large but extremely hard and with a big ridge down the middle where two single mattresses were stuck together. We may as well have slept on the floor! Both woke up with painful neck/ lower back

Perfect location, cosy room.
It had shower gel and soap in the bathroom, tea making facilities.
No WiFi in our room (room 5). We didn’t mind not having it but if you are someone who can’t be without as low signal too, it may be an issue.

Cody room, friendly staff, clean
Nothing worked properly had to repeatedly go downstairs to reception as I discovered one by one that the radiators weren’t switching on, wifi, tv, and sky did not work at all and shower did not have consistent hot water it was impossible to take a decent shower. 3 bar staff came to try fix the tv and sky and failed. Spent about an hour or so going back and forth with different staff. The last person gave me the landlords number to complain to and they did not answer until the next day. Another came and said he turned on the radiator but still it wasn’t on so I had fiddle with it and made it work. By the time I got in the shower it was 9pm and realised the shower wasn’t working properly by this point I was exhausted of complaining and being told that no one was actually around that could help. To top it off there was no mobile signal to be able to use your own data in the room! The landlord text me back at half midnight basically saying there’s nothing they could do about the wifi and insinuating that because they hadn’t received any other complaints from other rooms or previous people that stayed then my complaints weren’t valid! I demanded a reduced fee and they just replied rudely again insinuating that it was because my incompetence that the shower did not work. Also when I first complained about the wifi and tv one bar staff said that they had had problems in the room before so it’s clear they rented out that room knowing these issues existed. I want a full refund!

location is central, Rooms on ground floor ideal for people with walking difficulties. within the courtyard of the pub, which does excellent food, large portions at very reasonable prices. went for mums birthday 10 people for meals everyone enjoyed various meals. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Clean rooms and they have everything you need.
There was nothing to dislike. group of 7 people stayed 2 nights and no one had a complaint

The location is central, so we had easy access to walks in the area, as well as boutiques and other surrounding cafes. Similarly, the Peacock has its own parking, which was enjoyable as most of the spaces on the parking opposite of the pub were taken. The room itself was nicely decorated and had all of the amenities you would expect of a hotel room (except a mini-fridge).
Unfortunately, we did not get to taste any of the Peacock's food as on the day of our arrival, it seems they closed their kitchen quite early (6:30 pm) that evening, which was not indicated on Google, any of the brochures, or even told when we checked in. However, the manager kindly indicated some open takeaways/restaurants. When we returned from our food hunt (about 30 mins later), we thought we would be able to at least go for a drink at the Peacock. Unfortunately, the pub had shut and we resorted to going to the Co-op, which is ideally located - roughly 20 m away (about 20 yards).
Similarly, the brochures advertised that the place did breakfast, so when we vacated our room and saw that the pub was still shut we were quite disappointed and unsure where to return the bedroom key. Then again, there was no information whatsoever on how to return/hand in the key.

The only positive thing I could say about the property is,
it quite a good location
Where to start !!!
arrived and no one to check us in,barman eventually found some bloke who didn’t appear to know what he was doing .
eventually took us through pub to a pretty grotty passage way that smelled badly of drains & up some steep stairs to a small room that didn’t look much like it’s pictures .
He left us with some keys but didn’t bother to say that the pub shut early and you couldn’t us the front door so we were locked out in the rain at 10.30 .
thankfully the landlady at the adjacent pub told us to try the side door !!
got in slept till they started sorting out the bins & left … no one around again except pot washer who seemed perplexed when we asked him a couple of questions .
to sum up …
I wouldn’t bother !!!

The location was fabulous. The room was warm.
The staff were very unhelpful and quite rude when we first arrived and needed to ask about car parking. We didn’t feel welcome at all. It snowed while we were out during the afternoon (before check in) and they phoned to tell us all staff were going home so they would leave the key for our room in the door. When I asked about the meal we were booked in for that evening they just said they were not going to be open. No apologies offered. The room was disappointing and not the cleanest.

Location and the pub itself is very pleasant
We were fined £60 by the parking camera company for staying in the pub car park. Be very careful and make sure your number plate is registered with the bar - which we did but clearly it got lost in the process. Our appeal to the company was Thankfully the landlord very quickly rectified this and spoke with the parking company and hopefully has turned over my parking fine
