Lovely atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Bed and pillows very comfy. Towels large and fluffy.
Room was definitely not a deluxe. Cleaning in bedroom poor. Hairs in the showers, very dusty lamps. Bedrooms need an upgrade. Shower split base but mastic over it, wall paper peeling off. Definitely feel the room was overpriced.

very basic. booked dinner for 7.30 and was told kitchen shut early so no desserts!

Nothing
Ignored by staff when trying to check in, room smelt like public toilet, had to walk down outside fire stairs to exit building. I have spent similar money for 5 star hotel in Peak District so expected more. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone ☹️

Location excellent
Very over priced for the quality of room and facilities, bathroom door had a hole in as if it had been punched, bathroom sink had cracks on both sides, no bin in bathroom, toilet roll was a huge roll which was obviously from the main pub toilet dispensers downstairs, bathroom floor had stones and grit all over it and the bedroom carpet had dirty marks and mud all over it and stains and crumbs on the questionable bedside shelves which is a lack of attention to detail from the cleaning staff, and looked like it hadnt been hoovered, there was only brown sugar and mainly coffee and decaff or green tea teabags in the tea and coffee station which is great if that is your preference of hot beverage- it wasnt ours, we asked for more to be brought up but it never materialised. It wasn't a quick turn around as we had a late check in. Ordered food in the bar asian chicken burgers, not many people in there eating, food came out and missing sweet potatoes fries which we had paid extra for only to be told when we had to ask for condiments that they were out as waiting for a delivery, we didnt question the missing slaw as we knew we would be told the same thing, on going to order dessert we were told they were not serving desserts as they were waiting for a delivery, there was a staff member that could be seen in an area behind the bar drinking a bottle of fruit cider which was very unprofessional and solidified the lack of supervision and management of the unattentive staff. On arrival back to the pub on saturday after a fundraising 26 mile trek just after half past 5, we asked what time they were serving food till so we could go up to our room and get changed, we were told they had stopped serving food at 3.30pm as waiting for a delivery, so had to give our business to a lovely pub over the road. We will not be returning to the Red Lion pub and would not recommend staying here.

Location was good. That is all I can say.
Breakfast was not served at the Location. The dinner menu was nothing like the one shown on the website ( In fact it was the garden lunchtime menu ) There was no desserts available and the food was very poor. We did complain about the food at the time but nothng was done apart from 'We will tell the chef'The bar closed very early ie 2130.

location good
we could park at their other pub but not told about this till arrived and struggled to find somewhere else, would have helped if told before we arrived. no hairdryer. noisey beer garden after 11 which was supposed to be empty by then. Dirty sink (lots of hairs which had been there a while).

Location was ideal for what we needed.
Room was clean
On the website they advertise Sunday lunch and breakfast but we where told none where available.
There was a noise all night that sounded like a boiler or the toilet system filling up

Furniture in bedroom was nice and good TV. Working kettle and plenty of tea
Service was poor, hard to find staff and no meals after 6pm (website said 10pm) on a Sunday. No care or attention and no manager to be found. Trying to check out next morning all doors were locked and had to go out fire escape and knock on bar doors to hand over keys to a staff member called Rob. Security latch on windows didn’t work and had to leave windows open due to heat in room.

Great attention to detail and clean room.
Nothing was too much for Emma and the team, and all really friendly.
Dog friendly
In the centre of town with lots of dog friendly places to eat and drink.
Not a far drive from Chatsworth House
Planning our next stay this year! 😁
Not lots of parking near to the hotel but Emma advised where we could park nearby.
Thin walls but that comes with the age and character of the building.

Location
It is advertised on Booking.com as parking available. This is not true. There is no parking at the property, only street parking. So I think this is very misleading. I raised this with the manager and he wasn’t interested. Service from the manager was also substandard. We were ignored at reception, and an attempt was made to charge us twice for the room. The bed was also very uncomfortable.

Room was spacious and able to store bikes in the room.
Nothing really. All good

Friendly staff . Room clean and comfy bed . Location excellent , parking at their other hotel was easy.

The bed was very comfortable and the steak was delicious.
The staff, in particular the manager did not have any people skills, no friendly welcome and did not seem to know what she was doing. The emergency exit was blocked with large bags of linen and the door was left open all night. There was only one hand towel, I had to ask for another, they were about the size of a pocket handkerchief.

Thought our stay was overpriced. The room was clean but lots of patched up areas on the wall. Towels were only hand towels. There was a boiler or central heating system making a noise all night & considering what we paid breakfast should of been included
The noise all night from A boiler & hand towels to dry ourselves on

The room itself was comfortable and cosy. The staff were not very welcoming. Didn’t really seem as though they wanted to be there. We had booked an evening meal and made this known on our arrival. However when we went to the restaurant for our meal we were told that there was no food as they had now stopped serving. I stated that I hoped this was not the case as we had booked for 7.30. We were then told we could have a meal but not much was on the menu at this point and we decided to leave it.
The staff weren’t welcoming a as jd we would have expected breakfast to be included in the gist we paid for the room

The room had so many lovely touches which made it really homey and comfortable during my visit. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the locals in the pub was so friendly and welcoming. I had a wonderful stay here - the room was so toasty considering there was unexpected snow too!

lovely place, comfortable room and great staff without being over bearing, we can’t wait to get back there.
So for a couple just going for a relaxing night away we really couldn’t recommend this place enough. Traveling from Sheffield too means it’s on our doorstep too 👍🏻
nothing at all

We were under the impression breakfast was included in the price and were surprised we had to pay for breakfast. Hence, we felt it was expensive since breakfast was not included.
Very good location, however, parking was a distance away at the Manners Hotel
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, plenty of tea, coffee etc in the room

Perfect location to nip into town. Breakfast is was lovely and the staff were so accommodating.
The room was a little too warm at night but this is better than too cold I guess!
