Great staff, bedroom needs an upgrade.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Bed and pillows very comfy. Towels large and fluffy.
Room was definitely not a deluxe. Cleaning in bedroom poor. Hairs in the showers, very dusty lamps. Bedrooms need an upgrade. Shower split base but mastic over it, wall paper peeling off. Definitely feel the room was overpriced.

Rubbish
Nothing
Ignored by staff when trying to check in, room smelt like public toilet, had to walk down outside fire stairs to exit building. I have spent similar money for 5 star hotel in Peak District so expected more. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone ☹️

Will not be returning, very over priced.
Location excellent
Very over priced for the quality of room and facilities, bathroom door had a hole in as if it had been punched, bathroom sink had cracks on both sides, no bin in bathroom, toilet roll was a huge roll which was obviously from the main pub toilet dispensers downstairs, bathroom floor had stones and grit all over it and the bedroom carpet had dirty marks and mud all over it and stains and crumbs on the questionable bedside shelves which is a lack of attention to detail from the cleaning staff, and looked like it hadnt been hoovered, there was only brown sugar and mainly coffee and decaff or green tea teabags in the tea and coffee station which is great if that is your preference of hot beverage- it wasnt ours, we asked for more to be brought up but it never materialised. It wasn't a quick turn around as we had a late check in. Ordered food in the bar asian chicken burgers, not many people in there eating, food came out and missing sweet potatoes fries which we had paid extra for only to be told when we had to ask for condiments that they were out as waiting for a delivery, we didnt question the missing slaw as we knew we would be told the same thing, on going to order dessert we were told they were not serving desserts as they were waiting for a delivery, there was a staff member that could be seen in an area behind the bar drinking a bottle of fruit cider which was very unprofessional and solidified the lack of supervision and management of the unattentive staff. On arrival back to the pub on saturday after a fundraising 26 mile trek just after half past 5, we asked what time they were serving food till so we could go up to our room and get changed, we were told they had stopped serving food at 3.30pm as waiting for a delivery, so had to give our business to a lovely pub over the road. We will not be returning to the Red Lion pub and would not recommend staying here.

Very Disappointing and cannot recommend it as a place to stay.
Location was good. That is all I can say.
Breakfast was not served at the Location. The dinner menu was nothing like the one shown on the website ( In fact it was the garden lunchtime menu ) There was no desserts available and the food was very poor. We did complain about the food at the time but nothng was done apart from 'We will tell the chef'The bar closed very early ie 2130.
