The location is excellent, no better spot for a stay in Clifden. The rooms are large and the breakfast, despite no fry, is plentiful and satisfactory. Ample parking in Supervalue car park.

Clifden is a scenic ,rugged outback of the wild wild west.
On arrival we felt the corridor to the room musty . Just our luck the bedroom window looked out to a grey plastered wall.
The next morning we arrived down to a meagre budget continental breakfast. I asked the waitress was there not a fry up? But my request was dismissed with a hasty wave. Our e mail said there was a full breakfast included. One automatically assumes this is a fry up, unless otherwise stated...This is very disappointing. I also had issue with ordering the drinks ,which I don't want to go into now. I contacted the Hotel with all these issues but so far I've received nothing only a cold wall of silence.
Beware...

Decor a little the worse for wear but this had no impact on our stay

A true Irish welcome is given to you at this hotel. From the minute we checked in till we left we received absolutely wonderful service. Everyone was so helpful and the food and the room was lovely. The breakfast was a perfect continental spread which exceeded our expectations. I must mention James Joyce the barman who makes the best cosmopolitan cocktail in Ireland. He was such a lovely person and so helpful. A definite must stay if you are in Clifden.

Very pleasant stay. Great staff. Excellent location.
Narrow doors... Two narrow doors to stairs that swing closed too fast when struggling through with bags.

location was excellent. breakfast was continental as the property no longer has a kitchen, I have never tasted such bad coffee. The room..no lights in the bathroom or bedside lights working no Mirror in the bedroom basin bath had cracks & were fixed with silicone
apart from the staff who were lovely & the location on the Main Street, the place was like faulty towers very run down

Clifton is beautiful
The hotel advertised bed and breakfast but they would actually be better advertising room only because the breakfast is sad.
Cooked meats etc etc all left on a table on a warm day in a warm room!!
It's a cheap way out of serving a proper breakfast so it should be a proper breakfast or no breakfast.

Lovely staff, couldn't do enough for us. In particular, Sharon on reception. Nice location and reasonably priced.
Continental breakfast couldn't bs faulted, but no option for a cooked breakfast. No restaurant on site, however there is one next door.
