The staff were fantastic, upon arrival and throughout our stay..so helpful and polite, I cannot speak highly enough of them.
We felt the property was a bit tired, when we turned our hot tap on
it made a noise for a little while.
Pillows were very thin, but
I must say I didn’t say anything to the staff about these issues as we were only there for one night.

Very ornate and traditional features!
Felt interior could do with update, maybe fixing wood on stairs and carpet. Expensive but worth it , however in this current climate understand.

Lovely ancient charm! Clean rooms and excellent breakfast, highly recommend. Staff are wonderful! Thank you! )second time we have visited too and would come back again).

Lovely period property with original features, staff very welcoming, full English breakfast to start the day was ample and well presented, only stayed for 2 nights but certainly would recommend 👍,
Nice quiet hotel, lovely gardens to sit in.
Bath is easy to get around and explore the local historical buildings.
We got lucky with the weather so that added to our enjoyment.
Nothing to dislike small downside was bit out of town but we'll served by local buses if your not up for a walk.

On arrival a member of staff was smoking on the entrance steps next to discarded full binbags, the overall appearance was in need of significant maintenance the room was damp, the window was smashed ,there were dirty old socks by the bed from I presume a previous guest?the shower was absolutely awful !stained carpet and paint .

Staff was very kind and welcoming. Our room had a problem and they upgraded our booking without any charge. We spent a night in the Jane Austen suite and it was a dream. It was such to be Jane Austen for a day. Breakfast was really good. Free parking.

Good period property
Needs updating

I know it was inexpensive but how it got 8.5 on booking.com is beyond me. We paid for our stay but went home because we weren’t willing to stay. The smell of damp was terrible windows didn’t fit correctly and no heating was on so the room was cold. Very shabby

Staff were incredibly helpful, attentive, and professional, free parking and breakfast included (though I had to leave early so missed out on breakfast). You have to order breakfast the day before so make sure you know what you want.
Tired decor, the entire hotel could do with a refresh but has the potential to be a spectacular boutique hotel as the building and grounds are lovely. The shower cubicle was hilariously small, I had to open the door to turn around and stoop under the shower head and if you want to hang your towel on the towel-rail, you would risk dunking it in the toilet. Hotel felt a bit lifeless even though it was at capacity, perhaps due to people unwilling to use communal areas which were a little uncomfortable.

Horrendous and should be condemned. Ruined my weekend. NOT as advertised, filthy, mouldy, a health hazard. Despicable that my hard earned money has been paid for this. Needs reporting to trading standards and the environmental health department
It was so nasty, that we left without staying the night and drove home. Black mould on walls, urine soaked wooden toilet seat, you could smell the dirt. Thick dust on the bed canopy. Felt creepy and unsafe. Loose electrical sockets, like it hadn’t been attended to for over 40 years. Absolutely devastated that we were subjected to such a unsanitary place. Will be seeking a refund at the very least

Our superior double room was very spacious and comfortable. Bedding and towels were good quality. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good
Carpets were a bit tired but it’s an old building which is furnished in character

A beautiful old house with a beautiful view and garden. Only a short walk or bus ride out of the city centre. The breakfast was a lovely addition and the staff were very friendly.
As you would expect an old house will be a bit musty and dirty in places but it was part of the character. Everything is quite small and there aren't many nearby shops.

Staff were excellent
Easyly located

Quiet location with on site parking. Excellent breakfast
Reception office area was untidy and did not make a good first impression.Room was tired and in need of a refurb. Mattress on bed too hard.

The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was exceptionally good.
Building a little run down

Adequate for 1 night ,
Our room was nothing like the pictures

The idea of what the hotel should look like was good, but the execution was very poor. E.g. the slipper bath was a good idea, but is impractical for everyday use, the paintwork was sloppily done etc. The location was useful for Bath city centre as it also had parking.
The bathroom was dirty with brown water in the bottom of the tub, the lock plate on the door was falling off so diffuclt to lock and unlock the door, the breakfast was fine but very slow, the staff weren't overly helpful, the decoration was poorly done e.g. paint on windowpanes and fittings, the room was tiny and impossible to move around with two people; I doubt it really was 90 sq ft, the bed was ok but it absolutely was not a large double bed, no actual shower just a handheld hose which guests are instructed not to use as a shower so you don't flood the bathroom. The car park was small and difficult to manoeuvre. We were telephoned by a member of staff to warn us that reception closed at 10pm and when we said we were coming but had bee stuck in traffic they rang off, leaving it unclear whether we would be able to check in if we didn't manage to get there before 10pm, causing a great deal of panic after travelling 300 miles. We had to pick our breakfast the night before which isn't the most pleasant but I appreciate it cuts down on waste.

not a lot
couldn’t sit in very small lounge after 10 pm

Really clean properly and good location
Great Location

I booked a twin room. The room was clean and had all the amenities advised. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.
Can't fault the staff. Helpful, friendly and polite.
Not much I didn't like, but if I was being picky, I would say that the tea/coffee facilities would have been better on show rather than in a cupboard that I couldn't fully open due to chairs being in the way.
Remove the chairs, take the door off the cupboard and make a feature of the inside instead.

Staff were amazing, breakfast was really good, Location great.
Matress extremely soft, needed a refresh and a update, loo brush really rusty a dirty, light pull was just a piece of cord, smelt musty could do with a plug in airfreshner.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel was situated about 2kms from the city centre, so we walked there & back. There is a bus is you're not up for the walk.
The floors were extremely creaky and we could hear every step of the people above us. The basin was not part of the bathroom, it is an old property, so obviously that's how it was configured, very little space in the bathroom. We were given a room with shower, as requested. There was very little choice in the way of breakfast if you don't eat cooked. I would usually choose not to eat cooked, but the eggs benedict I had was very good & my husband enjoyed his full english.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, it was clean, great breakfast, on site parking. It is only 10 minutes drive from the centre and there are three very good pubs for eating in just a mile in the opposite direction.
Probably due a refurbishment, carpets a little bit tired but great value for money and would happily return.

Location was great, easy to leave the car at the accommodation and the a 30 minute walk into town. Breakfast was served in a very lovely dining setting.
Showers were a little small. Fortunately I’m a petite person, but you would struggle if you were any larger.

Lovely Olde hotel clean comfortable lovely staff great brekkie and easy location with secure parking . Had superior room which was definitely worth the extra £.
Nothing really , except maybe no netflix/ sky type options on TV

The Staff were pleasant and helpful. Just a bus ride away from the centre and the bus stopped right outside the hotel. Some areas are a little dated but nothing that bad.
Nothing

We were very happy with everything.

I very much enjoyed the eggs benedict.
We loved our nice big rooms and the very comfortable four poster bed. Also the fresh bottle of water and a the chocolate every day. The staff was very friendly and helpful
I didn't enjoy the cooked breakfast much , the mushrooms had no taste and seemed to be from a tin.
