The best view and excellent staff

Probably the best view a hotel could ever offer. And the staff are exceptionally helpful and lovely. We had various flight troubles and the manager contacted a friend at the airline and made every effort to help us. It really is one of the best places we've ever stayed. Very comfy beds and lovely rooms too.

The view was out of this world

Coffee machine wasn't working. And a lot of the items on the menu were not available (i.e. Steak, Burgers etc)

not worth the money but still neat amd tidy

the view

It felt very stale and didn’t feel homely . lots of concrete etc and felt like units . breakfast was provided but we only ate there once as we were not that impressed and there was much better food in town . breakfast was a set coarse with cold sausage and bacon , also they didn’t provide pancakes for kids . when we asked for a menu to see if they had anything else our kids may like they told us they don’t have menu’s

Insane Views

The views from this hotel, pool and rooms are out of this world! I could have sat for hours looking out into the distance. The rooms were absolutely huge and the balconies were probably the biggest we've ever had in a hotel. Food for breakfast was always prefect, tea/coffee, fruits and eggs whatever way you may like, along with sausage and bacon! The views from the pool are unreal and its massive! Ella is an absolutely amazing place to visit in Sri Lanka and I would highly recommend staying at Mountain Heavens if you are in the area. The staffs hospitality was amazing, they upgraded our room on arrival, as well as making two homemade cakes. One for our engagement and another for my parents 25th wedding anniversary. Thank you for going the extra mile to make our trip one we wont forget!

Amazing views and great room with a patio!

beautiful, beautiful views of the mountains and really spacious rooms and patios for the guests.

it’s a small gravel road to get to the property a little way from the down town area of Ella. We ended up enjoying the walk to downtown and then would Tuk tuk back for a small price.

Pool saves this place. Amazing views. Everything else is very average for the money you pay.

Pool is the highlight. Fantastic views. Also the balcony views are great.

The food was average and overall I felt it wasn't great value for money. The building is in need of work and looks dilapidated in parts.

Good stay in Ella with an amazing view and some possible improvements (like WiFi)

The view at the pool was absolutely amazing. The Sri Lankan breakfast was very good, but needs to be ordered one day in advance.

WiFi, even though it's quite important for tourists, didn't work at all.

View is everything otherwise adequate

The view from our room was stunning. Breakfast was fine perhaps less choice than at other hotels we stayed in.

We went to the pool on arrival. We found that the pool area was busy but not with hotel guests and there were dirty and empty glasses around the pool area. It didn't seem to be attended to by any staff.

the view and the pool overlooking the view is the selling point for this hotel.

the western breakfast was very basic and there were no options or menu. Just a waiter saying “EGGS” a plate of burger cheese, warm watermelon juice and cold toast. we asked for a sri lankan breakfast and was told we shpuld of pre ordered it the day before - but how would we know that?? all water comes warm. bottled or jug. although they do se to give you free bottled water whenever you ask which is good

Generally very good, just need to consider improving wi fi access (in all locations) if possible?

The staff were all very good

The Wi Fi was poor and inconsistent, not sure if this could be improved; perhaps background music in the restaurant would work to improve the ‘quiet’ atmosphere but otherwise the food was fine. Staff were all very good.

Overpriced hotel with poor service

Beautiful location with spacious rooms with stunning view. That's about it.

Compared to other hotels this one is overpriced and it's not being looked after well by the owner or the people who run this place. Breakfast is really poor. Dinner I can't judge because half of the menu was not available. WiFi was not working. Pity because this place has potential to make something nice out of it.
