complimentary taxi ride from airport, driver was given incorrect address, so we were initially sent to the wrong apartment. Kudos to the driver , he returned and drove us to the right apartment

Location
The apartment is definitely NOT Executive, the place was absolutely disgusting. We arrived to a broken lift so had to drag our luggage up 5 flights of stairs. The bedding in the apartment was thin, worn and had never seen an iron. We had two threadbare towels between 4 of us, (my dog has a better towel). We pulled the bedding back only because it was so bad to reveal disgusting stained mattresses, lots of stains. The toilet was dirty with hairs/poo on it. The sink was filthy and there was dirty washing in the machine. The curtains hanging off the wall, black skirting boards. The place was so bad we had to pay to stay in a hotel as none of us were prepared to sleep on the beds.
There was a lovely man who owns the Rose and Crown pub who gave us the keys and was so very helpful communicating with the owner, thankfully we got a full refund.
It spoilt our Friday night as we missed our restaurant time due to having to move, this was a celebration weekend. Thankfully we got a lovely hotel but it cost us another £240. The owner was not prepared to help with the extra and the fact that we had missed our restaurant reservation (they were fully booked later). We paid £390 for the 2 nights in this disgusting place so not cheap.
I just don't want anyone else to waste their hard earned cash, it should not be allowed that a landlord can let such disgusting premises.

The location was good, close to the railway station which was our mode of transport. Very close to city centre which was a bonus although did mean there was some noise late at night . The apartment manager, Lee, was very nice and helpful.
The bed in main bedroom was very uncomfortable, the springs could be felt and resulted in poor sleep. It felt like the apartment had not been quite finished as the mirror in second bedroom was on the floor, not having been put up, no mirror in main bedroom. No bath mat for outside of the shower and a few other minor points. We all felt that these are easily addressed and if done, it would be a great place.

Lee was great, helpful & communication was great
tired. had numerous issues with the apartment- far from
executive! there was food left in freezer, oven was horrible. mould on ceiling fan in bathroom. couldn’t shower in main bathroom. water under the laminate. skirting board throughout the property was ruined. not all the lights worked in the bathroom. beds were uncomfortable. looked like the bedding was 15 years old & didn’t match! noise from the street. i have more photos, but can only produce 4…..
good news is I completed the GNR and made loads of money for charity

The apartment is clean with enough facilities for 4 adults and is ideally located for a weekend break in the city. The shower was brilliant!! Lee was really helpful and kept in touch throughout our stay, we'll definitely be back next time we visit Newcastle.
