We had the most amazing stay and the staff (thank you Mario in particular!) couldn't have been more accommodating of our photography needs! The place is teeming with wildlife which was the reason for our stay: hundreds of hummingbirds around the feeders along with many other spacial sightings in and around the lodge including a quetzal exceeded our expectations by far! Our room was very (very!) spacious with the most comfortable bed we've had during our time in Costa Rica (it wasn't "extra firm" like most others...)
Really struggling to find something here to be honest, the place could be signposted a bit better along the road I guess, that would have been reassuring during the drive on the very steep, winding road that led us there in the fog. We even drove past it the first time as the gate was closed when we arrived (although to be fair there is a big sign at the actual entrance gate, it just didn't look like an entrance to a lodge to us, but that was our mistake and we were greeted as soon as we came up to the gate).

Excellent place. Beautiful sight and the personal and owners are very kind and helpful.
It is not easy to get to the place, for Costa Rica has a difficult terrain, and Bosques de Paz is right in the middle of a forrest.

A wonderful hidden gem of a non-profit wildlife preservation that also happens to be a hotel. Very peaceful, with hummingbirds, agouti and mapache on the property. Wonderful, caring staff and great cooking. Preservation orchid garden, lots of trails, waterfalls and farms at and near the property.

Nature and animals.
There is nothing but nature. If weather conditions are not good you cannot do anything. Internet is very poor. You cannot drink a soft drink, there are no snacks, nothing nearby. It was very cold in the room. 17 degrees celsius. Very boring. Management very unflexible.

The people were super friendly. The setting was nice. The walks through the forest were beautiful and all of the humming birds were special.
The Internet service was sub par. I intended to do some work and had do drive to an internet cafe in Bajos del Toro to get on the internet. I thought the price of the dinner was a little more than I expected.

A lovely setting. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from our breakfast table - coatis, agouti, black guan and countless hummingbirds. A great place for birdwatchers.
It is a little expensive but funds a vital natural resource. The tiad to get here is a challenge !
