Great location for the beach. The house was great value for money and at very short notice. It has everything you need if you forget things like hair dryers etc. There was a cot bed, bed rail available which would be great if you stay with young children but we didn't need these. The house very clean and cleaning products stocked up if you need to tidy up during your stay. The host was so responsive from confirmation of the booking so we knew where to park and how to get the keys as we were arriving very late at night. The street is quiet so had a peaceful sleep. I would definitely book again when I'm down to see friends in the area. Thank you
Not a dislike or anything that affected my stay but the stairs to the 3rd floor are very steep, which I'd expected in those houses, so hold on to the banister and maybe take socks off as it can be slippery on the lovely plush carpet :)

I liked returning to Yves town cottage as our first choice of place to stay when visiting family in Exmouth. It is very conveniently located - only 5 minutes walk from the train station and less than that to the shops. The wifi is reliable, enabling me to participate in a school governors video meeting during my stay. The kitchen is decently equipped and rooms clean.
I find the beds too soft, but my daughter found hers very comfortable. I would also like the choice of a lighter duvet. There didn't seem to be a food recycling blue bin, though other houses in the street had these so I hope there will be one for our use on our next stay.

great location for twin and beach, Exmouth has lots of activities and the house is near good restaurants cafes and takeaways if you don’t want to cook. good room sizes. I liked all the books! washing machine was useful and in good working order.
Some updating is needed. The beds were not comfortable, mattresses need replacing. similarly some of the kitchen equipment needs replacing. Can opener doesn’t work, pots and pans have seen better days.

Not very clean

Property was in a really good spot central to town and not too far from beach .
Beds were comfy and plenty of kitchen items, books etc.
Some toys in bedroom however lots of small pieces and not suitable for all .
Kitchen items were clean .
Wifi included although doesnt work on tvs.
Flowers at front a nice touch.
Nice artwork on walls.
Carpets on stairs and flooring good quality and seemed new.
Parking a nightmare, it does say no parking but even finding parking near was horrendous.
House smelt really bad and was not clean at all , untidy and in desperate need of updating. Also suggest hiring a new cleaner as it was honestly the dirtiest place we have stayed and we travel often.
The double bed was broken at the foot end.
We should of contacted owners but we had such a busy weekend with a family wedding we chose not to.
Also the listing stated bunkbed , 2 single and a double bed and there was no bunk . Had we brought my step son as originally planned we would not of had enough beds .while the write up doesn't say bunk , the booking . Com room info clearly says this so i would suggest updating.
The stairs to top floor are VERY steep and dangerous, not suitable for young children , again this is mentioned but until you see them it's hard to imagine just how steep !
Only 1 toilet and this is on ground floor ,nightmare in the night with a 4 year old going down those steep stairs !
The floor gets VERY slippery when it rains , 2 of us fell over on entering as doormat is tiny. Perhaps a runner would be better and safer also.
Other children living in the street were kicking balls at the house and next door were very loud. We were woken by a young child crying more than once ,as parents we are used to this but worth noting if you wanted a peaceful break.
All in all you get what you pay for and the price was very good .
The property just needs some TLC and it would only be parking and stairs that put me off ,we wouldnt stay again sadly .

The location was great, as a described- a short walk from the centre of Exmouth.
The Futon in the lounge isn’t a sofa and was uncomfortable to sit on. The mattresses on the single beds weren’t comfy and the occupier of the single room didn’t sleep. There were hairs in the shower before it was used, not nice at all. The display on the oven has no markings for use of the hob and oven. The property decor was very tired and in some parts scruffy although you could tell the stair carpet was fairly new.

The property was clean and comfortable and had little touches like tea and coffee, washing up liquid available etc. When I phoned to organise check I received a warm welcome and they were very accommodating. it was perfect for a family of 4.
Thank you 😊

A quiet road in the centre of Exmouth. Very easy to walk to the main shops and the beach. Parking not far away.
Two TV's not working (contacted the owner - he said the property was below sea level so a problem!!!) Checked with neighbours, no problems. No clocks anywhere except one alarm clock upstairs. Lounge - very poor quality seating, Kitchen - no key to the window, cooker with completely worn off figures etc. round the dials (no instructions left about it), no spongy, no kitchen scissors or dustpan, no eggcups, poor quality, odd crockery, no pyrex bowls or plastic containers, no kitchen roll. Poor quality teacloths wouldn't wipe.
Bedrooms - double bed ok, no mattress support in all 3 singles (rolling into the middle). One alarm clock only for 3 bedrooms, no bins at all, one bedside lamp short. Bathroom - No blind or anything else to the window

Mattress’s were to soft. Stairs to steep, as we were all old age pensioners . There was no parking in the road

Location was brilliant, easy to town, beach and most important the train station.
Bathroom downstairs from steep stairs difficult during the night.
Kitchen cooker required deep clean so didn't use at all during stay.

The property had a usable kitchen and was a safe place to stay.
The beds were uncomfortable, and not everything was clean, for example the ‘clean’ towels and bathroom floor had a lot of long curly dark hairs on them, which was a bit off putting. I also found hairs on my bedding. The bedroom I stayed in had no lamp etc. The general decorating and furniture was strange and not always useful.
Also the stairs are incredibly steep for my partner this was a real challenge as they have back problems and I hadn’t seen this made clear in the description. The bathroom is also on the ground floor.

This was our second stay at Yves Cottage. We returned as the property is well located and provided us with the base we needed for meeting up with family. We would have no hesitation in visiting again.
The beds are softer than we would prefer.

Beautiful house that felt homely from first entering even though it is a large Space exceptionally clean with lovely books and a little of the owners lovely touches around the home we will be returning in the warmer months although the house was lovely and warm would definitely recommend a stay here central and walking distance to shops and parking available not too far away.
