Liebevoll eingerichtet mit Schaukeln, Hängematte, Kanus, eigenem mini Pool und Lage direkt am Arm der Backwaters.

The property is right on the water and the views are great. The property had kayaks that you could hire and paddle out on to the backwaters.
It was a bit expensive for what you got.

The property is located by the margins of the Alleppey Backwaters, so you can just relax by the river whenever you want, it’s a perfect retreat from the buzz of indian cities. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and each have it’s own pool. My bathroom was out in the open, which was pretty cool, but also kinda inconvenient for the middle of the night. David and Aneesh were very kind and receptive, always eager to help. For me, the best part was the veg meals, both lunch and dinner, they were soooo good, varied and nutricious, make sure not to miss that.
I have some suggestions for the breakfast. If possible, offer a variety of fruits, we had only watermelon every day. Toasts were not crunchy at all, and the bread was a regular white one, no brown options. They make a looot of indian breakfast, but it’s too heavy for early morning (curries, noodles and chutneys), I’d make these optional, just to minimize food waste. Other options are jam (none available) and yogurt/ muesli. For the price charged, the breakfast was a real disappointment.

Location, the well-appointed private villa, location outside of Alleppey, river views, authentic experience: local community feel, home-cooked food, meeting the owner, sunset boat cruise
Nothing to mention

We chose to stay here instead of staying over night on a house boat, and we’re very glad we did.
We’d describe the place as high end, cool and stylish. And was definitely the most modern place we stayed on our travels to India.
The complex is surrounded by plants and your room is literally right on the river, so don’t come here expecting to be completely separated from Mother Nature.
Using the Kayak watching the traditional house boats pass you by was a particular highlight.
Amazing staff
It’s worth noting we preferred this location to actually staying in the city
We’d loved our stay

La gentillesse et le dévouement de Rajoo.
la piscine n'était pas très propre à notre arrivée mais Rajoo a tout fait pour que le problème soit réglé. Il manque carrément de personnel

Amazing property - such a peaceful retreat after a few weeks of hectic travel in India. The owners were really welcoming and hospitable, the food was lovely, the plunge pool was wonderfully refreshing and it was such a great place for a few days relaxation on the backwaters.

beautiful location near pampa river with lush green vegetation and scenic views, nice room with small but adequate plunge pool. Host David and other staff were wonderful. Food was good.
pricy for india, roads to location is full of potholes

Hospitality, Kindness and Food.
Mr David was an exceptional host.He was fully available whenever required to help us and provide us with the comfort of the rooms, scenic beauty and the food. The boy was very very kind, down to earth and very helpful and polite (my list may go on :), has done a great job in maintaining the gardens and ensuring the pools are clean etc... the 2 chechi's who made the food all the 3 times... lunch, dinner and breakfast was just superb. Very tasty food...very fresh and very neat.
There is no TV.. so if you want to stay away from television....noise...and want to have some peace this the best place to come with your family and relax.
Thank you very much for everything and making our stay memorable.

The spot is great. The dinner which gets ordered from outside is really nice. Breakfast is ok
There is no info about the charge for the kajaks. It just appears on the bill.
The bill is difficult to settle through a link. Luckily we had 2 credit cards

Right on the river , the food was exceptional local cooking, best food we’ve had so far in Kerala.
it’s perhaps a bit of isolated from a busy town experience if your seeking that.

The most serene and peaceful location to absorb the tranquillity and magic of the backwaters minus the hectic chaos.
Extremely well-curated architecture and my children enjoyed the private plunge pool and jacuzzi!

Fantastic views of the water, great having your own jacuzzi, stylish space, fun using the kayaks for an additional charge. The place is nice and remote, away from the town.

The property was stunning. It’s location is amazing on the very calm and tranquil backwaters. The rooms are really clean and decorated in a boho style with the most comfortable beds. We had breakfast and dinner at the venue which were delicious. Kayaks were available to rent which was fun and Aleppey is easily accessible. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Amazing place... breathtaking, the garden, the little cottage, the jacuzzi. One of the best stays I've ever had. Thank you David you and your team are doing a great job!
That we booked only two nights :) could have stayed there a week or more!

where to start??? The place has been designed impecabbly inside and out, the plunge pool, the outside bathroom, the decor, the EXTREMELY comfortable mattress, the location on the bank of a backwater channer, the food, the staff, all superb…
Nothing I can think of

I had the room with the outdoor shower- which was glorious! Lovely tranquil space, with a gorgeous outdoor plunge pool and deck- tucked out the way.

Rooms were very nicely decorated
TERRIBLE mouldy musty smell. Everything felt damp and as if the rooms hadnt been aired out in years - just a white coat of paint to cover the mould.
We left immediately because even with the fan and air conditioning on, the smell in the rooms was overpowering and we couldn't stay there even just for 1 night.
The bathroom and shower is not closed - no roof/outdoors. This could hypothetically be really cool but there were too many mosquitoes and bugs for it to be a cool aesthetic.

Wonderful property, nestled in the middle of nowhere by the lake. We had the resort to ourselves and it was a blissful and serene experience. Food options are limited, but very tasty. Loved the open bathroom!
The plunge pool could have had working jets.

A delightful location with a creative fusion of modern and authentic Indian culture

We had the best time at David's place! The room is very comfy and everything is well decrorated. For the 4 nights we stayed there, we had both breakfast and dinner - the food was home-made India food and every day was different. It was very delicious and well portioned. The staff were very helpful and sweet. We also went on a house boat tour and was able to enjoy the backwaters and the nearby villages.
I also have to mention that I left my Kindle in the room and David and the staff went out of their way to help deliver it to my next location. All in all I would high recommend.
The property is a bit away from the shops/restaurants - it's a short drive but not really walkable. Therefore, you will need a car to get about. That being said, there are little snack shops nearby and the staff were more than happy to arrange taxis for us.

Beautiful design, great dinners, great service, lovely location and great things to do (boat trip, kayaking)

This was a lovely homestay. I really enjoyed waking up to big windows that faced the backwaters. David was nice enough to let me borrow a yoga mat as well so I could do my daily practice and meditation. The food is good and the grounds are beautiful. There are so many little details of art and heritage that make this place special. The wifi is strong in case you want to get some work done (like me) and take a few meetings. I would definitely recommend for solo women travelers as well.
A daily cleaning service or even just light sweeping everyday would be nice. Especially because after 3 nights there are so many tiny bugs and dirt that manage to get inside, plus the debris in the outside bathroom sink accumulates every day. Also, a reusable container for filtered water instead of excessive plastic 1L bottles that you have to pay for.
