The location was pretty good, views for long distances. Rooms were quite nice.
My friends shower didn't heat up and his power was out all night, rooms run On solar with battery back up and these weren't working in his room, my room was great. Access road is awful, a 4x4 is definitely required, shame the hotels can't do their bit and help the communities by sorting the access road out. Went for a walk in the morning to see the view and had to dodge discarded soiled nappies everywhere, not great, at least pretend to care a little bit more as it could be pretty good.

Die Unterkunft ist wirklich ein außergewöhnlicher Ort. Wunderschöne, saubere, durchdachte Unterkunft, Essen super, Aussicht fantastisch.

The location is generally great with direct access to Lake Mburo national park and a pleasant view. The room was clean and comfy. The breakfast provided was good and the staff were friendly.
The access road to the property from Sanga is awful. This is obviously not the fault of the property but even in a 4WD pickup it was a tough 10 km to cover due to recent heavy rains in the area. I would recommend reaching the property through Nshara gate (even though this is a longer drive from the main road).

Tato lodge je na opravdu krásném místě nedaleko vstupu do parku. Chatky jsou docela velké, mají krásný výhled směrem do údolí.
Nedobré snídaně, nefunkční osvětlení, nefunkční ohřev teplé vody a naprosto neschopný personál a vedení lodge.

Lovely place , next to Lake Bunyoni, with perfect boat ride
No hot water during our stay

Hyena Hill Lodge offers an amazing view on Mburo National Park and the Lake from the top of a hill. The cabins are spacious and clean, each with a private balcony to enjoy the fantastic panorama in private. I must say this was by far the most impressive view of all places we stayed in Uganda. The staff was very helpful and food delicious.

Relaxing spot. Great atmosphere.
Hard to get up the road!

We really enjoyed our stay in Engiri Lodge. Great location close to the park and nice lodge. We where able to watch Elephants while having our breakfast and also enjoyed the camping!

Our stay at Hyena Hill Lodge could not have been better. The owners and the whole team were super friendly and helpful. The view of Mburo National Park is unforgettable. The rooms and the food complete the whole package perfectly.

Very friendly staff, helped us organize bikes and jeep rental for night safari. Amazing experience and very good food. Stunning view and perfect location.
4.5
Nice view - friendly staff - decent food - good beds - good value for money.
The access road is very difficult for a 2WD car. The sofa seat on our balcony was partly unusable.

- beautiful lodges, private with private bathrooms
- food was good and fruit juice was fresh. I recommend getting a smoothie.
- surprisingly the wifi was better at the lounge here than my hotel in Kampala - just note there is no wifi in rooms
- essentially was high end glamping - very impressive for the price
- thought it may be sketchy at first given how affordable it was but honestly it's a fantastic place. If I were to come back I would stay here.
- breakfast that's included is a full breakfast - all fresh an old made to order
- 5 minute drive to the national park gate entrance
- Daniel, who works at the lodge was a mecca of great information and bent over backwards to make sure our stay was good.
- they also have security walking the grounds - felt very safe
- just a note - remember to pack all toiletries because they only provide hand soap
- also there are only 2 USB outlets in the cabins, so if you need to charge anything else you'll have to do so in the lounge
- the lounge is a steep hike up a hill but is worth the view.

Fantastic view on the park
Difficult to reach without a 4WD

1. A solar system gives a weak charge
2. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms
3. There are no mosquito nets on any of the windows and doors
4. 1. The restaurant at the top of the hill. Not suitable for those with difficulty walking.

Perfectly located, just a 5 minute drive from Lake Mburo NP. Cabins are spacious, there is hot water and good water pressure, the views are breathtaking, the breakfast is great and the staff is friendly. They even made a cake for my girlfriend’s birthday, really nice!
There are no power plugs in the rooms, if they would add that it would be a 10 out of 10.

The Lodge offers an excellent view over the national park. The room was really large, spotlessly clean and the shower was very nice. The room is well equipped with storage spaces. We were greated with a welcome drink and they could spontaneously book an official safari guide for us. The breakfast offered an excellent choice and was very tasty.
The Lodge is extremely hard to find. Even with the description which we received after the booking was not helpful. You have to drive along dirt roads for about 10 kilometres with only very few signs to confirm whether you're still right. The last 500m are difficult to drive as the "road" is a mixture of big rocks and giant potholes. You definitely need a 4x4 to get up there.

The staff..Accommodation and the views were great..😊👌

Lovely accommodation. Lovely staff. Lovely location.
The price. It was overpriced when taken into context with local costs and comparison to other accommodation we found later in the trip.
The food and drinks were also expensive for the country. $15 set meals in Uganda aren't really in keep with a) local economy, b) the assumption a westener wants 3 courses for their meal (trust me westener people don't all sit down to 3 course meals)

I loved everything and the willingness of the staff to help clients ❤️

The accommodation was pretty and loved every beauty of it
Only thing I missed was a swimming pool but the rest was okay

Our stay at Hyena Hill Lodge was very enjoyable. It is well situated, close to Sanga Gate to Lake Mburo National Park.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals were simple but good, fresh and well cooked. The room was clean and comfortable.

This was a great place to go as a family. The kids loved exploring. And so close to the park entrance made it easy to pop in and out. We will definitely recommend to others.
You have to have the right car to get up the driveway. It was a little bit challenging in the rainy season. But on par for the area and the roads.
4.5
the lodge is overlooking Lake Mburo National Park with excellent views of the lake and the hilly landscape. It is perfect for an extended weekend from Kampala or a stopover on your way back from e.g. Bwindi Nationalpark.
Churches tend to be noisy in Uganda. The lodge being located on a hill and the village close by on lower ground, you hear the village, which is perfectly fine. If church services start, the quieteness of the place is gone immediately and for hours. This happened to us on a Saturday evening and was OK, since the church services stopped after 3 or 4 hours.
4.5
it was in a beautiful and quite surrounding. To listen to all the birds in the morning at breakfast and have some monkeys outside your lodge was just a wonderful experience. The food was awesome and the Personal was kind and helpful!
Would have loved electricity in the room.
4.5
The house was very beautiful, comfy and clean. Shower and mattress were amazing!!!
We didn't have the room with the views over the lake as pictures showed at the time we booked. They were very kind accommodating us in the one with the best views. The dinner was very nice but overpriced even for safari lodges standards.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy Lake Mburo National Park. The staff, especially Daniel, Rene and Heidi are very welcoming and super professional. We really appreciated them.
Further, the huts have breathtaking views, perfect for an easy-going stay. We would highly recommend this hotel.
There are a couple of things that would have made our stay even more perfect:
- the mosquito net didn't close properly, a square net could be a solution
- the matress could be upgraded
- night stands next to the bed with (solar) lamps would have been nice
- cafe latte / cappuccino and a musli bowl on the menu would be awesome
- a table on the small balcony
would have been handy
Thank you for a wonderful stay and until next time
Nothing apart from what we have shared already
