We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and very spacious.

The house and location were very pretty and very historic. Lots of Cival War info at the Gordon-Lee mansion. There were some issues though. The house had sewer smell that would come and go and a musty smell. I bought candles to mask it. Lots of cobwebs in and outside the windows. The couches were dirty/stained. There were not enough chairs for the enclosed porch and none for out on the patio. A table on the patio would be very nice to have. We bought two outdoor chairs. We did not use the grill because it was dirty and rusted. Not very appealing. We bought and replaced some lightbulbs. There are still some needing to be replaced.
The most important thing is to note that there are brick stairs leading into the back porch (the home's point of entry) that are difficult to manage. There are no handrails. I realize that this house was not advertised as "handicap accessible" but it was still unsafe for the elderly in our group. The steps are narrow and high and the door is narrow.
We did appreciate the large kitchen and master bedroom. The living room was a nice place to gather. The TV is very small for the size of the room. Two of the bedrooms upstairs only have double sized beds and that was difficult for the adults who had to sleep up there! They were old and not very comfortable. I suggest they be replaced with newer queen sized beds asap. It was nice to have the one bedroom upstairs with twin beds.
The little town of Chickamauga was quaint.

What a wonderful family vacation in the Chattanooga area. We loved all the green space around the house, and the house itself was comfortable with everything we needed. The short distance to Chattanooga attractions made this home very convenient, and our kids loved the historic setting. We loved Rainbow Lake falls, Rock City, and the Tennessee Aquarium.

All of our needs were met but the house needs a good deep cleaning. Also, I think there may be a dead mouse or something in the house. It just felt like we were the f

Wonderful property to stay at. Would highly recommend to anyone. Only issue is there is no outdoor seating to enjoy the summer evenings other than that everything was perfect

The house was just as described and my group love the historical grounds they could explore. Only about 25 minutes to Chattanooga, so it was very conveniently located. The town of Chicamauga was adorable and had all the amenities you need. I highly recommend this rental!

Hi beautiful house and a great little town. The listing has two contact numbers that are not correct so I would say update those for the next guests. Other than that a great stay.

Our stay near the museum was amazing! We learned so much about the area
The house was clean with plenty of room for everyone, I would recommend mats for the tubs but overall a 5 star rating!

From the moment we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised! Such a cool place and the house was immaculate. We all commented on it, everything was very comfortable. Owner communicated with me very quickly when I had a question. One thing we would have changed was having chairs on the patio, but I think it was the first nice weekend of the spring. Our location was perfect, able to walk to the area restaurants and an easy drive to attractions in Chattanooga. I would highly recommend this lovely home!

The facility was clean and comfortable, easily accessible, and on historic ground - all enjoyed it immensely.

My sister and I brought our families here for a post-Christmas getaway and the house was perfect! Two rooms for the adults downstairs and all the teens took the top bedrooms. The house is beautiful and historic, perfect for our stay. We enjoyed walking to downtown Chickamauga for dinner and it was a quick drive to other attractions that we visited (Rock City, Chickamauga battlefield, downtown Chattanooga). We loved it!

We have adult and teen children and grandchildren in several states. We rented the Green House in Chickamauga for the gang to meet for a long weekend and it was perfect for us. Lots of things to do, including the Aquarium, Rock City, Stone Mountain and the Civil War Era sites and history. Great October weekend!

Beautiful, quiet area. Everything needed in home. Would of loved more handicap accessible. Bigger tv in living room would of been great.

Our family enjoyed our stay. We were visiting the sights of Chattanooga and it was nice to stay outside of the hustle of the city. The place was perfect for our family as far as size and sleeping arrangements. The only downside was that the weather wasn’t great our first night so we thought we'd stick around and watch a movie but the tv in the main room was small and hard to accommodate everyone…I know, not much to even mention. Check in was easy and we found everything in good condition.

We loved the place it was beautiful and we want to thank Gary and Debra for the personal tour of the Mansion and grounds next door the kids and I loved the property and the history.
We only had 2 complaints there were numerous large water bugs in the rental and housekeeping had not done a very good job checking after a previous rental. My 9 year old niece opened the drawer to put up her clothes and there was an energy bottle full of maggots in it. However overall great place and we would definitely stay there again!

Great place
This is a great place to stay. It is in a quiet area and right next door to a historic mansion (Gordon-Lee) that you can tour for $5.00. If we are ever back in this area, we will be sure to stay here.

Very Pleasant Stay in Chickamauga
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this VRBO in Chickamauga. Being a family of history buffs, staying in this historic house & location was a treat. Chickamauga is a pleasant little town to explore and our day trips to the battlefield & into nearby Chattanooga & Lookout Mountain suited us well. The house provided everything we needed & our host was most accommodating.

Chickamauga Green house
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful home. The house was perfect in location and amenities. It's away from the road in a park like setting full of trees and surrounding grass. We spent time wandering around the historic grounds and into Chickamauga. We will definitely return here in the future.

Graduation Weekend
The house is very nice. When you first enter there is a smell of mildew which kind of scared us, but after the house was open for a very little bit it went away. The neighborhood is fantastic. The house served our needs perfectly.

Beautiful serene place
Great time. Everyone missed the turn in to the road as it looks like a wide walkway instead of a driveway. But that became a joke to see who made it there without having to call me.

Super cool historic property
House was really cool and the property is beautiful! We like historic stuff so this was right up our alley. The town is really cute- try Phil’s pizza- and everyone was really nice. Only 20 mins from Chattanooga. We tried to reach out to the property manager when checking in, but never got a response. Other than that, we had a great time and would definitely go back

This cozy cottage was a perfect Christmas getaway for our family. From the Christmas tree that greeted us to the crackling fireplace that warmed our evenings, this clean, comfortable house felt like a home away from home. We enjoyed its close access to downtown Chickamauga and nearby Chattanooga. A dusting of Christmas snow was the icing on a week of hiking, shopping, and relaxing family time. When planning your family getaway, keep in mind that 3 of the 4 bedrooms are up the steep staircase. The master suite is downstairs. We definitely recommend this charming getaway.

We enjoyed this property overall. It was as described and in a great area of town for walking and enjoying the fall leaves and great weather. I did think it could have been cleaned a bit better and perhaps due to covid it has not been rented in a while So may have been closed up for a while I do not know .The bathrooms were very clean, the furnishings were comfortable and new. Nice dishes in the kitchen. The stove was not that old but it has not been cleaned in a long time, I took a couple pictures of it and texted them to the contact person to let them know we were not responsible for that and we did not use it, we were not there to cook anyway .but this is what dropped the cleanliness rating. The back entry has several steps and could use a hand rail for sure A simple antenna for the TVs would be nice but we never got TV to work on any local stations for news or weather but we were ok with that too. The house is very comfortable the water is hot and never seems to run out. Nice roomy laundry room with a deep sink and a cute little side room that appears to be maybe for a bridal room that is not listed in the description.I would probably suggest that the owner add a simple electric cordless little vacuum to help with the floors since they are all vinyl . But here are mops and brooms. Ice trays would be handy. We recommend Phils pizza within walking distance it is hand tossed dough and wonderful pizza where the cheese really does string off your bites. There are cute shops in town with very friendly attentive shop keepers. My cousins live very close by and this was a surprise to them that it was a rental and I am pretty sure they will be taking advantage of that option in the future .We do recommend this rental for sure

Great stay!
The home and grounds were immaculate. Everything was exactly as described. Crawfish Springs park is directly across the street and a perfect place to relax and unwind. I would highly recommend this place if you want to be 20 minutes from the action in Chattanooga but stay in a small town that feels very much like Mayberry.

Enjoyable visit
Thanks for an enjoyable, relaxing visit. Very nice, neat home in a peaceful and historic setting. Would have enjoyed a grill, if available. Walking distance to a nice, small “downtown” area . . . but be aware that most shops and restaurants are closed on Sunday and Monday. We enjoyed our stay!

Great stay with a lot of history
Great home with a lot of history. Local to the small town. Wish the mansion tours were open during our stay but I understand they are limited to the weekend only

Great Location and Perfect Size
All 6 of us really enjoyed staying here. The location was fantastic, we could walk into town for Mexican (Los Potros has fantastic meals) or ice-cream; grocery store was only a few minutes away. Not far to Chattanooga and state parks. The town was quiet. The house size was perfect for us Plenty of space for family games and meals together, beds were comfortable. Easy to communicate with property manager. Fridge died while we were there and it was replaced within hours. Could use a few more basics like a whisk and spatula, but there were plenty of dishes and towels. Hot water temp should be lowered so people don't get burned. We would definitely stay here again.

Softball Getaway
We were traveling from PA to come to Chatanooga for a large girl's softball showcase. Many hotels were filled and we decided to try a VRBO. It was the best decision our family and another player's family made. The property was beautiful both inside and outside. The house is situated on a historical landmark area with lots of history to tour. The town is lovely to walk around and enjoy. Everything was provided that was stated on the amenities. We certainly hope to stay again if our softball team returns again next year.
