My 14 year old son and I stayed here for his baseball tournament and it was fantastic! His tournament was in East Ridge at Camp Jordan Park which was 16 minutes away and the traffic was not bad at all. There is a great bbq restaurant just down the street, a food lion across the street, and so many food choices and a Walmart less than 15 minutes away. My son loves fishing so the creek was an added bonus. It is so quiet, peaceful, and clean. Everything was super nice and comfortable. The only suggestion I would have would be more outdoor lighting but that is literally it. This place is literally perfect and the host and maintenance guy are top notch!! You definitely will not be disappointed. It was our first time visiting Tennessee and we loved it so much :)

Pros: Very close to Chattanooga for Zoo, Aquarium, Creative Discovery, Hamilton Place Mall and other local activites. Most lengthy commute was 28 minutes. Well kept home, perfect AC, reliable hot water (3 people back to back), washing machine and dryer are huge and quiet, easy to find with paved driveway.
Areas to Improve: Personally, we like firm beds. These beds are much softer, and have quite a bit of give to them (our wgt. ranges 160-215). Would have been nicer to have queen bed in the master bedroom, but I dont think the space would have alloted it. Remove wasps nest in corner of porch near patio side and under the patio. Two of us are highly allergic, so we weren't able to enjoy the side patio.
Cons: The home sits next to small running creek which has vistors quite often, not big issue, but did have to double check our car doors were locked because some kids came up to the car trying to open the doors. So be mindful as parking is shared with visitors access.

Great, out of the way location, relaxing property to walk around and enjoy the creek.

This was a perfect stay for our weekend trip. Cute and cozy, and a beautiful stream behind the house and the property has an interesting history. Would stay again.

So peaceful beautiful everything is right there we only left to go to store and out to eat. We had small birthday party for my sister and this was just the perfect place. Not one complaint. We didn't want to leave. We went to the battlefield museum it was awesome 💯 we may book longer next year.

This a perfect property to relax. You are close enough to the stores and restaurants, yet its set in an area away from the busy town. Downtown is a short distance away and it is a quaint little town that is peaceful to walk in. Our family will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area Reasonably priced and easy check-in.

I believe the online summary was a bit overrated! It says you can swim, fish and kayak yet there are signs posted that tell you none of that is allowed. We were also led to believe the mill was open and running for tours but it indeed was not. It is empty buildings.
It was a nice place and we would definitely consider staying again. We just had higher hopes due to what we read online

Loved this house and would rent again! The river right there makes sitting out on that deck such a joy in the morning with coffee or at sunset with a glass of wine. The teenagers loved it and it was close enough to go into Chattanooga easily for activities. We cooked every day in the kitchen without any problems. There id a Food Lion a few blocks away with everything you need and they do have pickup so I pre-ordered before we came! It is attached to a Mill and museum but itvwas a holdiay weekend and it was barely noticeable. Entry was easy too. Plenty of towels, 3 TVs (if you even use them which we barely did), wi-fi and even built in chargers in the living room and bedrooms.
Couldnt ask for anything more!

Everything was as described and I loved the location. The property was well maintained and the whole house clean with the exception of the grill off the deck.

This place was more then what we expected. The home was cozy and a welcoming feeling. The view of the mill was beautiful at sunrise and sunset. If I was to rate on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 10 x 20. We are planning on staying here again for our summer vacation. The price was just a added bonus.

Basic accommodations for a decent value in a unique and historic location.
We enjoyed our family stay. The grounds are great and we liked the area a lot. It's close to a few restaurants and
a large grocery store. The reason for 4 stars out of 5 are a few small things that I would have liked to have known before booking. It was very clean, except for the very light colored couch which was very stained and a bit dingy. The kitchen did not contain enough silverware, dishwasher tabs, or any basic pantry items like salt and pepper, sugar, coffee filters etc. There was also no shampoo or conditioner In either bathroom. The lights and street noise is present, so it is not a remote country location. I would not recommend having a group of more than 4 people due to the layout and furniture /small bed choices. Overall, I would recommend it for the area, but please just be aware of the things you will need to bring including some nice fluffy pillows if you don't like sleeping on very cheap flat ones. If these small improvements were made , it would go a long way.

Perfect for us
If you are looking for a place secluded and in the country this isn’t it but it worked good for our family. Kids enjoyed the creek behind the house. It is Convenient to restaurants. Make sure to check out the Battlefield of Chickamauga visitor center just 4 miles away too. Only complaint need more pans to cook with

Nice place to relax away from city
Property was quiet very peaceful just the way we like it. But there were a few things that needs improvement like the couch was not clean. There was dirt underneath the cushions. We couldn't make the grill work. The outside cooler was not clean and There was clothes left behind in the master bedroom chest.

Great place to stay!
From the time we arrived until the time we left we had no complaints at all. Yes it’s an historical site so you may see people from time to time visiting the mill, but no one ever bothered us. I do recommend buying so tubes from Walmart ($6) and floating from the Mill to the shallow area (approx. 50 yards) just to have some fun which the kids and adults loved it. Close restaurants, grocery store, and fast food places nearby which was also a plus. Very peaceful at night while sitting back on the deck and there’s a grill on the deck as well. Would stay there again !

Loved the view
The house is cute. Just big enough for my family of 4. We had a few issues but the management handled it promptly. one issue I didn’t care for is that the side door is all glass and there’s nothing covering it. The rental is in a park and people come and go all day and night. It would be great to have a blind there. We didn’t mind the visitors. Every one was nice!
The main problem I had is that the entire porch area was infested with chiggers. The owner said he would spray but unfortunately It wouldn’t have helped our visit in time. Hopefully for the next family they will be gone.
I would recommend the place and would stay again!

Great Place To Stay
I am OCD and sometimes critical, but this home met many of my standards. It was tidy, clean and organized. I was surprised to the uniformity of beds, dressers, TV’s etc. it was not too much and it was not too little. Loved the washer and dryer right in the bathroom and the number of dishes available as not to have to wash each dish as you use it. It was convenient to all the attractions we visited and the property itself was beautiful. Here are a few points to mention. The coffee pot only holds 4 cups. A larger one should be added. The outside chairs are weathering and beginning to tear and should be replaced. Each side of the beds should each have a night stand for convenience. All bulbs should always be checked after each visit and replaced as necessary. Bar Keepers Friend is an excellent cleaner for smooth top surfaces on stoves and should be used to clean the stove between stays. All of which are very petty to some degree. To future visitors. . . The home sits in a lovely historical park, but faces a 3 way stop sign the is a sharp left in the turning direction. This is a moderately travelled route. The traffic will come to a stop and slowly make the turn. Although the home is situated down a small hill, the luxury of having complete privacy isn’t available. You can sit on the side porch with a little more privacy, but rain or wind would push you to the front porch. There wasn’t much traffic in the park during our holiday stay, but I imagine with warmer weather, more visitors would travel through. There is just the one home with a banquet home next door and a museum under the home that didn’t appear overly visited. The home is attached to a larger room in the back, but you would never know. The home was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We would visit again.

We enjoyed our stay during the holidays.
The property was very convenient to everything, including our family members that we came to visit.

Clean and well-maintained
This was a great location, convenient to anywhere we planned to visit. It is clearly a clean and well-maintained property. The creek and mill were a nice addition to our stay, but people do stop by to visit it and take pictures, so you have to comfortable with that as well. The only down side is that while it sleeps 6, it does not really accommodate that many comfortably for sitting and dining. While we were on the go most of the day, in the evening it wasn't really easy to gather together to watch tv or play a board game. We made it work, but would probably not stay here again with more than 3-4 people. In addition, the headlights from the traffic on the road do shine right in the front bedroom windows at night. If you are a light sleeper this can be an issue. There is no traffic noise and it was nice that the house was so quiet despite the busy street.

Chickamauga Mill house
We had a great stay! This is a super unique property, on the creek with the old mill right next door! House is the top level of a veteran’s museum, but I don’t think it’s operating currently. Super, clean and comfortable, it was perfect for our family of 5. We stayed right after a heavy rain fall and much enjoyed watching the creek rise and rush by and exploring the grounds. It’s about 20-30 minutes from Chattanooga and there is a grocery store and several other restaurants less than a mile away! Highly recommend!

Nothing but good things to say
As someone who has studied Civil War history, I had seen pictures of the mill before even realizing that you could rent onsite property for a stay. It's picturesque at all hours there at the house, and we enjoyed visiting the creek daily. There is ample sleeping space, and the living room and kitchen being a tad on the smaller side didn't really matter since we spent most of everyday outside of the house. There are places to eat and numerous historical markers within walking distance, Chickamauga battlefield is only a stone's throw away, and you're within a 20 minute drive to Cloudland Canyon state park, downtown Chattanooga, and numerous attractions on and around Lookout Mountain. The property manager responded to messages timely, and the description/pictures matched what we received. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I'm hopeful that we'll be able to return someday.

Outdoor family getaway
Great property. Spent lots of time tubing and wading down the creek. Experienced lots of the sights (Lookout Mountain, Rick City, Soddy Daisy Blue Hole, etc.) and Chattanooga. Great location and the house was perfect for our family! Would stay here again for sure!

Good proximity to Chicamauga Battlefield
The house is on the site of the Lee and Gordon Mills. It was a bit difficult to find once we entered the property. The unit itself is no frills but clean and comfortable. The amenities are minimal. The best part of the unit is its proximity to the Chicamauga Battlefield.

Delaney visit to Chickamauga
Rental was very nice property. Nice layout, beautiful location, fairly priced.
I would recommend a few more kitchen utensils (larger frying pan, another pot, pizza cutter and a toaster), a few more supplies (There was only 1 trash bag and two dishwasher pods). Also, most VRBO rentals Have a few games in- house ( Such as a Deck of cards, Monopoly, Yahtzee).

Clean place to stay, close to Chattanooga attractions with small town feels!
Rental was great overall. If you have children bring bikes and floats! Nice area for kids to bike around. Wish all beds were queens and that the third bedroom had a window!

Home away from home!
We have stayed here twice now and have enjoyed our stay. It's close to my daughter and grandkids so it's convenient for us on so many different levels. We threw a birthday party for our grandbabies and rented out the Wallace house right next door, which made it nice to have more room. My son is always and easily entertained by the creek and likes to fish! It's a cozy little place. I will be a repeat guest! Owner was very helpful and responsive to our needs.

Enjoyable stay
Overall a nice home. The beds need to be replaced. They were not comfortable. The shower in the master bathroom is very small. A ceiling fan in the master bedroom would have been nice. The property is very roomy and kept up well. I was a little confused about wether or not it was okay to fish because there were signs that said no fishing. We did anyway and no one said anything so I guess it’s fine. We would stay again if we had less people due to the size of the house. It was just a little small for six people.

Not far from the hustle of downtown Chattanooga you find this treasure. Off the beaten path, beautiful scenery behind you, history tours, walks and monuments all around. Just minutes from anything you want from Chattanooga. I would definitely stay there again.
