Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, offering shuttle service flexible to our schedule. Spacious, and well suited for skiing with a drying room, shuttle.
Need to plan for dinner as no restaurants nearby.

The accommodation is basic but is comfortable and clean. Alan the host is amazing! He is so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was good and we appreciated the ability to make coffee and tea with free snacks. The lounge room had a great tv that offered Netflix too.
The location is not right at the snow resort but reasonably easy to get around, thanks to Alan and his van or the Hakuba Valley Shuttle is a 5 minute walk away. It is well located if you want to avoid Happo/Hakuba 47/Goryu and the crowds and ski Tsugiake, Norikura or Iwatake but Alan offers transfers to Happo if that’s your preference.
Nothing really. The only negative is it’s easy to hear other guests from the room, even other guests in other rooms snoring! I felt it was a little expensive but it was Chinese New Year and a public holiday so maybe there was a premium on the rates?

owner虎爷人太好了,给人回家的感觉。
太舒服了像自己家一样,以至于临走前大意把雪鞋和饺子皮给忘了,不过虎爷第二天就邮寄给我了,赞一个。

Alan and family were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They went out of their way to give us rides to different ski areas and to Yamato before catching the bus to Nagano. The homemade wonton soup breakfast was a highlight of my trip.

Amazing and friendly staff who went above and beyond. For example, I told the owner that I love eggs Benedict and his wife made me some for breakfast one day. What’s even better is his wife’s cooking is amazing!!! So flavorful. The owner also gives local recommendations for restaurants and activities. He truly went above and beyond and drove us to each hike we did and even picked us up from the hike and then drove us to dinner. That was very kind of him since the booking states that it only allows for one pickup and drop off per day. He was able to do this since other guests were attended to and he had extra time. Truly the definition of going above and beyond. Before and after our hikes he would also make sure if we had enough food and if we needed to stop by a grocery store or convenience store to pick up sandwiches for the next day’s hike.
The place is also very clean, no dust. The owner even cleaned the shared shower after each person’s shower. The hotel is also very cozy and feels like my grandma’s home, very warming and welcoming.
nothing they are amazing!!!

Everything was perfect. The host is very kind to us. We feel really comfortable and relaxed. If I visit Hakuba again I must gonna revisit it. Also, we can discount 10% if you try to rent ski, and snowboard stuff to go to HappoONE.

I have stayed at this location for more than 5 weekends and highly recommend it.
The location is very close to Tsugaike Kogen Ski resort. The owner offers pickups from the Hakuba Happo bus terminal to the hostel (if you are going by bus) and dropoffs to the few closer ski resorts (Tsugaike Kogen, Happo One, Iwatake, Norikura).
The rooms are spacious and well-maintained. Heaters are available in each room for you to keep warm and dry your facemasks and gloves. (boards and boots can be dried in the dry room near the entrance)
Dinner is available for an extra charge but it is totally worth the money and is my favorite part about staying at this hostel. You can always trust the owner's wife to make anything from authentic Asian to Western food.
Make sure to get all the snacks and drinks you want on the way to the hostel as there are no convenient stores anywhere nearby (the owner can take you after picking you up).

The hotel is well located in Hakuba area with convenient access. The owner is very helpful and warm to welcome us by treating us with transportation support and nice a Chinese cuisine.
We really want to come back again in this winter season again to enjoy the friendly stay.
Snow boarding/ski friendly host for winter activities visitors.
The place can be more modernized equipped in next renovation.

Even though the property is situated between the two resorts Tsugaike and Happo-one with no bus stop close, our host made it very convenient by picking us up and dropping us off wherever we wanted.
Thanks to him we were able to visit all 4 ski resorts in 3 days and even spent an evening in the village center after which he picked us up as well.
The place has a little onsen perfect for a relaxing bath after a tough day on the slopes.
The room was spacious, equipped with an additional sofa, a very effective heating system and very clean.
Breakfast and dinner (which can be ordered separately in advance) are delicious and vary day to day.
It was a bit out of the way.
