Sarah was an absolutely charming host

Beautiful building which has been sympathetically updated. Breakfast was made up of local produce along with home made/grown produce. Highly recommended!

A very enjoyable experience and wouldn't haste to recommend to others as a great place to stay.

Everything. Sarah was a welcoming host and nothing was too much trouble. Her homemade museli was the best I've ever tasted. Our room was comfy, clean and had a sofa so we could relax in the evening before going out for our evening meal. It was like home from home.

Can’t wait to return- faultless

Wonderful welcome from Sarah and she gave great advice about local attractions, beaches, restaurants and places of interest. Fantastic en suite comfortable room with all amenities. Breakfast - the best, again complete attention to detail every taste or allergy catered to.

Exceptional

Sarah, the owner, was an amazing host. She was absolutely lovely and open. It was a new and interesting experience staying in a small B&B and I can't recommend Sarah more. She welcomed us to her home and showed us a bit of her life and hobbies. She has a very personal approach to her guests and offers a personalised breakfasts. The building is a gorgeous house with a lot of character and Sarah keeps improving is as it goes. Me and my partner had a wonderful stay and uses Sarah's recommendations as to what else to see. We will most definitely come back!

Perfect location. Perfect host.

Stroud House is amazing, and Sarah is a wonderful host! We were very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was exceptional, plentiful choice of cereals, fresh fruit and homemade fruit compotes followed by whatever combination of high quality eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes one could want all, beautifully cooked and presented. Sarah really does make you feel so welcome. We shall definitely recommend and hopefully return again!

A charming house and a delightful host. A place to chill out and slow down.

Cooked fresh to order and extra touches with how the tomatoes and mushrooms were cooked. Sarah suggested where to go and what to see. Freshwater is the quieter end of the island, but plenty to see and do.

I am not sure that I didn’t like anything. Some people would have missed not having a television in the room or a separate room to sit and watch, especially if the weather is bad.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stroud House. We loved the location, the décor, and the breakfast with homemade jams and sauces. Our host was very friendly and gave us helpful tips on how to enjoy the island. If we could have stayed an extra day, we would have!

Superb

Sarah was the perfect host welcoming us with a pot of tea and slice of banana cake on arrival. The room was very comfortable and cooked breakfast delicious made with local produce. Sarah accommodated us for an extra night when a storm prevented us moving on, and gave us ideas of places to visit in and around Freshwater. The Red Lion is perfect for an evening meal or the Piano Cafe for lunch, both a short walk from Stroud House.

A wonderful place to relax and walk in stunning scenery

Delicious and imaginative selection for breakfast, including fresh home-cooked granola, fruits, mushrooms and tomatoes. Locally sourced produce. Given a welcome, and felt as if personally invited to stay by the owner.

Beautiful house and garden. Nice welcome (after a long walk) with homemade cake and tea with fresh milk. Our host, Sarah,gave us lots of good tips about where to eat and places to visit. Breakfast was fantastic with homemade granola and cooked fruit as well as a full cooked breakfast. Bed was comfortable, slept so well!

It is a lovely georgian house. The room had a lovely modern en suite bathroom with a powerful shower. The host (Sarah) is lovely with a lot of IOW knowledge. Varied delicious choice at breakfast. It had a homely feel and nothing was to much trouble.

Outstanding breakfast. Sarah catered for my gluten free diet with quality sausages and lovely bread with special granola. There was some homemade/homegrown produce and it was all beautifully cooked/presented. The comfortable bedroom had everything you would need including speciality teas. Sarah was very helpful in suggesting local restaurants and places of interest to visit.

Sarah is an incredible host who goes above and beyond in every way - it felt like home in all the best ways! The rooms were unique and goegeous and stocked with everything you could need and more. Breakfasts were delicious.. The homemade granola and scrambled egg with salmon were heavenly. Thanks so much, I will definitely be back ❤️
