Very peaceful and relaxing settings. Exceptional attention to detail and thoughtful touches in the villa. The outdoor plunge pool was delightful after a long drive and the outdoor bath and shower was a bonus. Great breakfast to start the day.
Nothing about the property - it was all wonderful

We stayed at The Kombuys for 3 nights and it was fantastic! The breakfast and diner were delicious. The location is amazing, it is so quiet and beautiful there. It is very close to the Swartbergpass and the Cango Caves, so that is perfect. The staff was very friendly and kind and we absolutely enjoyed our stay at The Kombuys!

De kombuys is an exceptional experience to have. The extraordinary surroundings and the organic farm to plate philosophy really does make it an unforgettable and unique experience that we will definitely want to repeat.

One of the unexpected highlights of our South African roadtrip!
Truly wonderful location, best food (wine!!) and extremely welcoming and thoughtful staff. Thank you so much.

we did not stay. We left the property because we were not happy with the overall impression of neglect and poor upkeep of the gardens buildings and dirty pool
WE stayed for one hour before we left. The property was unkept " gardens , pool and buildings" There were multiple flies in the reception and dining room area ( the property we move to afterwards in the same are had no flies) I was a huge disappointment because the photos on Booking.com did not reflect the poor state the property was in.
The prices advertised at the restaurant were exorbitant and out of line with the look and feel of the property

The location is isolated, very close to nature feeling.
The rooms are tastefully designed.
More than anything we enjoyed the service.
The staff do above and beyond to please the guests.
All was well

The hot tub, the outside bath and fireplace inside. The complementary wine was a bonus!! Breakfast was exceptional!
The hot tub was not hot, actually to cold to sit in.

The food was delicious. The Marbled Wagyu restaurant is a real treat. The rooms are rustic but have all the essentials including a working fire place. Hot water availability was spotty and the mirrors above the sinks are very high. Short people must use the full length mirror.
Martin and Manina, the owners, could not be more hospitable, along with farm dogs, Phoebe and Sanir (sic). Lee is a wonderful host and Arina always had a smile on her face.
Location near the Cango Caves and Ostrich farm is great.
There are no electrical outlets in the bathroom so one must go in the other room to use the hair dryer. The pool was full of leaves, but they will heat and clean it if you want to use it. There are not alot of dining options nearby, but De Kombuys is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful vistas.

Beautiful location on a farm. The room was a decent size with good facilities. We had the wagyu tasting menu for dinner with wine pairing and it was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room furniture was a little dated but everything worked fine.

Peaceful location, helpful and attentive staff, good food, complimentary wine and sherry with plentiful Nespresso and teas.
A once-in-a-lifetime taste of Wagyu gold-plated steak!
No air conditioning in estate cottages. It was 35 degrees on arrival.

Stunning estate! Like a little oasis among the mountains. The villa was so beautifully decorated (and large!) we spent 10 minutes thunderstruck when we arrived. The design is applied with such attention to detail, everything looks so neat and blends beautifully with the natural environment. We thoroughly enjoyed the outside bath, the splash pool and the wines. And that view during breakfast on the terrace, wow. Made us feel like royalty, wish we stayed longer.
As much as the Wagyu beef is such a unique feature of the estate and restaurant, I'd say for those who aren't as carnivorous the restaurant options become quite limited for a longer stay.

staff were amazing and very helpful. Restaurant had delicious food. loved the design of the rooms - outdoor shower and bath were amazing.
Aircon did not work very well in the main sleeping area and pillows were very soft.
