Make your way up to the beautiful front porch and inside this grand mansion using the easy keyless lock and be greeted with an ornate foyer that sets the tone for the rest of this classically styled St. Louis home.

The elegant living space is filled with a chesterfield style lounge opposite the original decorative fireplace and a large arched window flooding the space with light.

Step through into the modern chef’s kitchen complete with a butler’s pantry that comes fully equipped to cook up breakfast, lunch and dinner with everything you could need right at your fingertips. There is a large industrial oven with gas cooktop, a French door fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher to handle the cleaning up and a coffee maker to start everyone’s day off on the right foot.

Eat together in the eclectic dining room at the table set for ten with chic mismatched chairs and a bench seat along with a serving buffet and a second decorative fireplace.

The sun-filled master bedroom is located on the main floor and features a large, luxurious king bed surrounded by beautiful bay windows with a wall mounted TV opposite the bed and space to hang your finest along with an ensuite bathroom stocked with all the essentials and a handy laundry nook.

Make your way up the stairs to the second floor where you will find an additional two bedrooms. The elegantly styled king suite is perfect for families with a luxe king bed and an adjoining room offering two twin beds and a crib for the youngest in the family while the second bedroom features an additional king bed with both rooms sharing the two second level bathrooms. One of these 2nd floor bathrooms is a full bath with shower and the other offers a relaxing bath tub but has no shower hookup.

On the third floor is the queen bedroom with a beautiful cathedral ceiling and a large window overlooking the neighborhood below, the spacious trundle room with room for another 2 guests on twin beds – the ideal space for teens and kids to come and hang out with games, books and toys, and finally a twin room with another two single beds.

Outside guests can enjoy the leafy backyard with a sitting area under the trees or make their way over to the picturesque Compton Hill Reservoir Park just steps from the house where you can see the historic water tower and climb to the top for a great view of the city.

The Neighborhood:
This historic Compton Heights neighborhood provides guests with the ambience of Victorian living and the convenience of being ten minutes from everywhere including Downtown, the historic Soulard District, Forest Park, The Hill, Tower Grove Park, the Missouri Botanical Garden, and the South Grand business district.

Close by you will find the beautiful Missouri Botanical Gardens, restaurants and shops with miles of tree lined paths, playgrounds, fountains and points of interest, including the top-rated and free Zoo and Art Museum. Foods from around the world are served at nearby restaurants on Grand Ave with no shortage of Italian restaurants on “The Hill” nearby. Access to major freeways is convenient to take in a Cardinals game, visit the arch and riverfront, stop by beautiful Soulard, or tour the Anheuser-Busch brewery.

Beautiful 1800’s home. Lots of charm for sure! Walking distance to several coffee shops, parks, Cardinal Lennon, St Louis University. Kitchen had some necessities that were much appreciated- sugar, coffee, filters, salt and pepper…. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Many problems with Plumbing Shouldn't have had to deal with that. Had to constantly make contact with Management about it. made for a job not a vacation. we paid way to much money with Fees for 2 nights. It was not worth that price for the headaches. thank you

We booked the house for our trip to a family wedding. Most people stayed in the venue hotel, but our side of the family wanted to share a place so we could spend more time together. We had a fantastic experience! The house is beautiful and has been nicely restored. The neighborhood is lovely and we were just minutes away from the downtown St. Louis wedding venue and event space. So thankful for the many happy memories we were able to make! Communication with the home’s management was also fantastic.

The house is charming with beautiful Victorian features, and this is the third time we’ve stayed here. But the management by Abodebucks falls short. Their vetting process involves repetitive acceptance of terms (first on VRBO, then by text message, then on the check-in form). Then there was the condition that trailers were forbidden in the neighborhood (which did affect us, as we had a trailer), but a camping trailer was parked across the street for our entire stay! We were also frustrated by the very inconvenient check-in (5 p.m.) and check-out times (10 a.m.). The house lacked essentials like Kleenex, hangers, foil, plastic wrap or food storage bags. It had too few drinking glasses and utensils considering the capacity of the house, and not a single pot holder. It was also a bit grubby, something that was obvious when we looked under the beds. But our real trouble was how they dealt with the bat that got into the house on the second night. Though they sent over maintenance workers, they weren’t able to remove it (they said that it was gone, but it showed up again on the next night!). They were also dismissive of our concern for rabies, and didn’t seem to want to follow health department guidance on bats. Their attempt to make it right through a refund (less than a third if you include the steep service fees) fell very, very short, considering how we tried to work with them during the stay and the trauma suffered. Be warned if you rent an Abodebucks managed property!

Property worked perfectly for our family Thanksgiving get-together. Only real problem we had was with the mattress in the first floor master bedroom. It was a disaster and needs to be replaced IMMEDIATELY. It has a big hump in the center and then sinks down on either side, had to sleep on about a 12" wide section at the edge. Otherwise a fun old house in a beautiful neighborhood, with a park nearby.

We came to STL for a short visit with family and to watch baseball and this house was perfect! It was spotless and the owner was very responsive. It was also about a 10 minute drive to the stadium, and a 5 minute drive to some great restaurants and parks. The neighborhood was very nice and we were able to walk to a playground and park very easily. Great for families traveling with kids.

Lovely Victorian with lots of charm on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood. 1.5 miles or less from the Art Museum and Botanical Gardens; central location provides easy access to everything. We felt safe the whole time. The property manager was friendly and made our stay painless. The large amount of bedrooms meant everyone got their own rooms, the kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast etc and the oversized dining room table was perfect for board gaming. The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept great! The bathrooms could use a little TLC (loose handles, grout past it’s prime etc) but everything worked and was clean enough to use. We didn’t use the outdoor space but there is a very cute little patio and a fenced in backyard. This house is great for larger groups, there is so much space! Our stay was exactly what we needed and we would book with this property management service again! One small suggestion for the property would be to add blinds to several of the main floor windows. The curtains were more decorative than functional. Overall a great stay, we would book again! Thank you!

I believe the house is a wonderful home that was built in 1896, 3story on a quiet street. And is a short drive to the downtown area. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this house.
