Beautiful home and nature
I LOVED how the kitchen had all the spices, coffee, all cooking and baking wear. It made the cooking experience very easy. Loved the big windows as I got to enjoy the nature and the sunlight all day. Close to hike rails and rivers.

Mountain Paradise!
We rented this property for my daughters birthday. We had ten people and we all slept comfortably. There was plenty of room for everyone without feeling cramped. There was a beautiful view from every window. Walking down to the water is pretty. The only trouble with the property was the beginning of the walkway down, was a steep rocky path, that should be turned into stairs or ramp because 3 of us fell at that spot and cut our knees. Otherwise the house and the trip was amazing!!!!!!! Thank you!!!

Barrel house
Good location for skiing Stevens Pass but pass/ski area closed one day due to snow/rain and avalanche. Best stocked house we’ve ever stayed in!! Only downside is that queen “bunk beds” do not really accommodate adults. No one can really sleep on the top bunk(it wasn’t even made up) It’s very high and the ladder is difficult to climb. So my 31 year old daughter ended up sleeping on the couch the whole time.
Otherwise the house worked out great. Being right on the river was amazing.

Great Place
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. We had friends visiting from out of state and were looking for something away from things but close enough to get provisions. Great views, by the river, clean and a great real cabin feel. Also the property manager was quick and friendly to answer a few questions at check in.

Nice Riverfront Property
This property is a nice cabin. The kitchen was well stocked, lots of comfy seating and the beds were comfortable too. Our twins loved the bunk beds. The hot tub was clean and lovely to relax in after a day of hiking. Charming decor! And the gas fireplace kept us nice and toasty.
A few things to note for fellow travelers: (1) The property is very close to the river (so beautiful!) but it is also close (below) the highway. We could hear trucks and traffic from the bedrooms. It wasn’t a big deal for us at all as the kids sleep with rain machines and the river was so pretty - was worth it.
(2) The upstairs bathroom is very small- my husband and I had to crouch in the shower because the ceiling is slanted at such a sharp angle. But there is a shower in the laundry room and so we all just used that one which was fine! But if you needed both bathrooms for adults - could be tricky.
(3) The WiFi and cell coverage are very poor at this property. We could not have worked remotely from this property.
None of these are things that would prevent us from returning though! The location is amazing!

River Escape
We absolutely loved this property! The home itself is a super cool design and the location on the river is wry nice. We will definitely be looking to book another stay here later in the winter to see it covered in snow and we’ll try to come back in the summer sometime to take advantage of the river more. Thank you for this gorgeous property!

Cozy and ejoyable
We had a great stay. The property was well appointed and very clean. Things were nicely labeled, which made it easy for us to use things and to put things back in their proper place. It's obvious that good memories have been made here with family and friends. I'm glad we added our own memories to the ood vibes of this cabin. We've earmarked Maki's place for another trip in the future.

Great Location
Great location on the river. Nice view. Hot tub was awesome on a cold night. The grill was out. Gas was out so fireplace was out. Internet went out as well.

Perfect Civilized Wilderness Escape
My boyfriend and I had a marvelous time with our two pups at Maki's Barrel House. The property is just off the Hwy, nestled at the far end of a private neighborhood full of cabins. The hot tub is slightly viewable from the street and neighbors to the right and across the street, but there's a privacy panel blocking most the view. The property itself felt like we were stepping into a maintained campground, absolutely fabulous. There's heavy tree coverage all around the property, and even down at the river. Very private setting, even though youre technically on a cul De sac. On a final note, all the amenities worked great and the cabin was meticulously organized and stocked. Oh! I cant forget to mention, this spot on the river is so perfectly situated! The river is clearly fast moving, but its quite wide here and there are a lot of massive rocks on the house's side creating a mellow water area to safely play and sunbathe. Theres also a lot of soft sand thatd be perfect for kids.
All in all, we had a very romantic weekend getaway, and our pups had a blast living outdoors for a bit. Definitely recommend.

Family Vacation
Our family (including grandparents) stayed 5 days at the "Barrel House." Though remote, the location was perfect for our activities - hiking, visiting Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee. The house backs to a beautiful river and a national forest. Both the river and mountain peaks can be seen from the living room window. Though we did swim, the river is not ideal for swimming as it is shallow and very cold even in August. Sleeping arrangements include a queen-over-queen bunk. Note though the upper bunk is around 7 feet off the ground and has a vertical ladder to climb with. Older kids are fine but I wouldn't suggest it for young children. The main beds though are comfortable and the pullout sofa is fine for children.
Pros:
Beautiful views from nearly every room.
Clean and cutely decorated.
The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of serving sets, utensils, and seasoning/spices. The house had a drip coffee maker, a K-cup brewer, a slow cooker, an electric skillet, and a new double-oven. The home even came included with coffee K-cups and a welcome basket full of tasty treats!
The backyard included a hammock, gas grill, and a firepit. The house even came with flashlights, lighters, and cut firewood that was stored in the shed. The latter is a nice touch!
Cons:
Our chief complaint is road noise. The house is located near a bridge that the highway passes over. Though the bridge is around 300 yards away, you can hear the road noise (especially the semi-trucks) from the house. In the city, this wouldn't be a problem. But the noise distracts from the beautiful setting. There was some train noise but it was distant and wasn't an issue.
The internet is very spotty.
Parts of the house are showing age. Both upstairs bedroom dressers had sticky drawers. The living room couch was not comfortable. One of the remotes to the automatic window blinds did not work (though the batteries could just have been drained). And I think the upstairs bathroom faucet leaked.
The hot tub was heated and ready for our use upon arrival (which after a 5-hour drive is much appreciated). However, there was some dirt at the bottom.
Mosquitos. This is less a complaint and more a recommendation to bring repellant. After all, you're with nature!
Overall, the cons are minor and are more than offset by the many pluses of the house. I would recommend this home!

Comfy, cozy river cabin
The barrel house is a nice cabin off highway 2. The place was clean. And the kitchen is fully stocked. Perfect for a weekend getaway, especially if you love enjoying the outdoors. There are many trails in the area which made it perfect for my stay.

Review of Barrel house
The house was lovely. Very organized. The fireplace was nice the only downside would be the heaters needed an ap to work it and the website would not load. We didn’t see any of way of adjusting the heaters. Other than that, it was a beautiful home and we had a nice time.

Had a great stay
We had a great stay. Would love to go back again. We were hoping there was dry fire wood under a cover. All the wood was too wet to burn.

Girls’ weekend
Travelled here with 5 college friends. Easy to get to, BEAUTIFUL scenery, very clean, well organized and well stocked. Breathtaking views, we enjoyed the hot tub for sunrise every morning! We made fabulous meals on site and PLENTY of available day trips available in nearby surroundings. Would absolutely recommend and consider returning to with my family. Thank you!!

Heart of the Cascades
This cabin backs onto a beautiful mountain river and, above it, an actual mountain. Really lovely. Comfortable, very well equipped and very well located near waterfalls, hikes, etc. The sleeping arrangements involve two private rooms (4 people total) and a very cool double bunk bed (up to 4 people) in the hallway between the two bedrooms. Great if you have four kids to put in the double bunk bed,--adults may have privacy concerns. Overall, a terrific place to stay.

Riverfront relaxation
Amazing cabin just about 100 feet down a lovely path from a private sandy riverbank! Kids had a blast on the bunk beds and we all enjoyed board games, puzzles, movies, the BBQ and the hot tub! Cabin was very well stocked with cooking gear, camping chairs, towels, etc.

Unforgettable Family Retreat!
We stayed 6/14-6/17/19 with 5 adults & 2 kids. Our getaway was nothing short of perfection! What a cool place to stay for an extended weekend with the family. The weather was in the 70s, the cabin was loaded with everything you would need (tons of wood, BBQ, marshmellow sticks, noodles, chairs, beach towels, serving trays, etc) We would get up, make breakfast and take our chairs down to the river and just hang out with our feet in the water. We did see some folks in the neighborhood but the river and yard was pretty much to our sevles in complete privacy. The young girls ages 4 & 7 were in the hot tub, "fake fishing" on the river, and just playing on the inviting river front beach. We went into Skykomish, the kids rode the train, and we grabbed ice cream at the Deli before heading back the <1 mile to the cabin. The rustic touches and lanterns felt like we were camping, but the pillow top mattresses felt like heavenly pillows to crash into at night after a relaxing day hanging out. Thank you for having us, we will definitely be back! We could not recommend this cabin highly enough! Thank you so much for having us!

Cozy riverside cabin
Overall great stay and well appointed. The bathroom upstairs was a lillle small and we never could find the thermostat to turn up the heat in the living room, washer/dryer didn’t work (think it was just unplugged) but in fairness we never took the time to contact anyone to help. But other than that great stay, everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and very cozy feel. Beautiful location by the river and close to Stevens Pass. Little far to a grocery store so just make sure to stock up before you get there.

Family Spring Break
We had a great trip, despite the rainy weather! Everything was so clean and well organized. Beautiful view and access to the river. Bedrooms were very comfortable, even the common area room upstairs felt like a bedroom. Enjoyed the hot tub and took advantage of the gas BBQ and fireplace.

Nice Ski Cabin
The cabin was great & a fun place to stay...close to Stevens Pass for skiing/snowboarding. Really liked the layout with the loft & the giant fireplace to heat the place up. Hot tub was great, especially after a day up on the mountain.
Only complaints were that gas ran out for fire place on 2nd day & had to wait a full day to get it filled. Also, the cabinets were well stocked with spices & essentials (coffee filters, napkins, etc) so we over-bought groceries thinking there would be nothing there from the way the VRBO description read.
Recommend you check the cabinets when you get there, then make a store run afterwards. Local store is small & doesn't carry much, so the nearest main grocer is in Gold Bar - about 20 miles away.
Other than that a great place to stay!

Beautiful house. Very well appointed and organized.
My wife and I stayed at the Riverfront Barrel House over the Christmas holiday and we loved it. I was seriously impressed with how well appointed and organized the owners kept the house. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint -- and this is small -- was that the hot tub didn't get warmer than 100deg. I prefer my hot tub a little warmer ;-)
