Calme parking situation kitchenette
J avait cru le déjeuner compris

Furu Hostel is build by a couple of travellers themselves, you can expect all the attention to hospitality as in regards to backpackers and single room guests.
I slepts for four nights in a 6 room dorm room, though the beds transcend the concept of bunk beds. They are more private sleeping cells with everything you need in it from your own light cell charger and your own shelf where to put your belongings for the night and a curtain to draw when you go sleeping. Each dorm has a locker deposit space where to leave your bag during the day.
The structure has multiple very large showers on each floor and showering here is a delight!
Furu has an excellent little restaurant, where I've had both breakfast and dinner on more than one occasion. It is a place build around cozyness sharing experiences and meeting new people, and you can do so in the large sitting room, outside by the lake or in the garden.
Finally, when i forgot to book my last night's stay, the staff found a solution and saved me from a night's sleep in the car, thank you for that!
All in all I'm very satisfied in having stayed here and I don't think there is another structure on the Lofoten islands that offers such value for money.
Maybe a better self-service kitchen for the guests, the kitchenette is too small.
Once again though, I'm very satisfied with everything I got here.

Friendly staff, nice café/restaurant , little 2 hand, dryroom, shop, good vibe, garden and sauna.
Kitchen is too small and only open from 8 am.
4.3
An amazing, tasty, value for money breakfast, I highly recommend it.
4.3
Cosy and friendly hostel with great food in the Café.
Surely great for a longer stay, because there are also possibilities for car, bike and kajak rental.
4.3
Relatively cheap.
The dorm beds with curtains are very small areas.

Atmosphere was great, food was good and the location had nice views from the lake.
The guest kitchen was in the basement and was not so nice to eat in. you can go upstairs to eat in the Owl room but it’s a pain carrying thing’s upstairs.
4.3
Staff was super friendly, nice talks and gave good tipps for everything. Food extraordinary!
The house is old, so you hear a lot. But that makes everything charming
4.3
Beautiful hostel, on a lake. Nice room, spacious and comfy. Attractive common spaces.

Welcoming accomodation although self check in. Common areas that allowed a relaxing environment with books, boardgames and lounges. Kitchen area was fully available and fantastic but only suitable for a few people at a time as its small. Beds were cozy and bathrooms clean.

Good location next to main road but quiet. Parking close by.
We were throughly disappointed in this booking. The photos or description did not accurately describe the property - ours did not have the same modern feel or warm appeal. Quite the opposite actually; we arrived to a freezing cold apartment which in the middle of winter had the heating completely turned off. It took a good two hours for us to be able to take off our coats. The pictures were of a different apartment. The amenities described are also inaccurate - during the low season most are not available, the reception and cafe are closed and most importantly there is no breakfast available (despite it being advertised). The phone number provided to access help or book a sauna is also not answered. I’ve never seen beds so full of hair (not single ones, but an unusually large amount!) and I’m not even a picky person. The boiler is small and ran out of water during the second person showering. This was not a good experience at this price point. I can’t recommend and I can’t understand why this place has so such high reviews, maybe these are of the hostel not the apartments.

Very clean, comfortable, homey
No kitchen at the moment

cozy hostel, best staff, lovely decoration, clean bathrooms, kind atmosphere, dogs & nature
kitchen isn’t ready yet, but you can get creative, I didn’t really mind

I stayed 3 nights at FURU. They offered only me a 6-bed room. The room is clean, quiet and warm. That's great.
I could watch the northern lights outside the hostel. The lake behind FURU is so wonderful in winter.
The FURU restaurant was closed during my stay. I traveled alone and did not have a car so I might ask the nice guy who drove the huge garbage truck to take me to the SPAR supermarket which is 12km far from FURU. If you come there during Christmas time or New Year, remember to bring enough food.

One of the owners (I only met one) is super friendly, and had the most adorable dog with her. It's very comfortable in the common areas.
It's a good thing they're building more of a kitchen area, so that will be a future improvement.
4.3
Super nice stuff and overall a phenomenal place to stay!
4.3
The hostel is at a beautiful lake and we saw northern light just right outside it.
4.3
Super cute hostel with a fine eye to detail. We loved the interior everywhere, especially the lounge/living room area as well as the very comfortable bed.
A kitchen is missing in this otherwise so very perfect hostel. The restaurant isn't open in winter season as well so if you're keen eating anything be prepared to freeze outside with your byo cooker, eat minute noodles with the cattle or stick to finished meals from the microwave which is provided.

Furu was the best place to go to. I spent 2 weeks there and would have stayed even longer if I could have ! The place is so cosy, the staff is very helpful and gives the place such a pleasant, joyful and fun atmosphere. It felt so bright even in these dark fall months. The beds are very comfy, the rooms are spacious and warm, it felt like home. The commun areas are great to meet new people or to take time to relax. Before getting there, I was afraid the kitchenette would be a problem but it never was. With a fridge, a microwave and a kettle you can actually make pretty much anything ! Also there is a hutt to cook food on the fire, which was very enjoyable. The hostel is very central in the Lofoten islands, it was pretty easy to go by car to great hikes and places. There is also a ton of activities accessible from the hostel (kayaking, biking, sauna...) even during the low season. Furu is this kind of place that has that very special vibe that makes you feel like you got to the right place. It will always have a special place in my heart.

it was so nice in the Furu Hostel!! I never was in such a cozy hostel. So much love in all the details. Nice beds with a curtain (cozy private in the night), board games, knitting stuff, Netflix with Beamer, small second hand shop…
directly at the Lake. We saw very nice northern lights!
you have to check the busses before. if you have a car it’s perfect! lots of nice hikes near to Å or near to Solvær. therefore it’s a good starting point in the middle of the Lofoten!
the kitchen was small and no supermarket in the near (but it’s only now because of renovation) a few free group activities would be nice (e.g. once a week Sauna and campfire)
4.3
Interior design, small details
Missing kitchen is supposigly a well known inconvenience
4.3
The beds with the curtains were nice and there were enough common rooms where you could eat/hang out. Late check-in was possible.
The kitchenette was a microwave, really had to be creative to get some proper meals in. There were no proper sized lockers for your luggage only for small valuables.
4.3
comfortable bed & linen is provided. The staff is super friendly and helpful. location is good and adequate parking is available. Clean Bathrooms and Toilets.
4.3
I rarely give 10 score for hostels but this hostel really got me happy. I love the vibes despite not having so many guests during my stay (off-season). The place is very very very very very cozy!!!! Even the bathroom is cozy lol
The reception guy let me check in 2hrs earlier - which was very nice. The door only has a code so you dont have to bring keys. Also, free coffee!!!!
I will check in here again when i come back to Lofoten.
4.3
cozy place, friendly volunteers, and easy to contact with people, a nice place to watch the northern lights as well.
The hostel is in the middle of nowhere, disconnected from the world, no supermarkets around, they have like pasta and noodles cups that you can have if you didn't have food, but trust me you don't wanna have them. Just get your food before you go there because if you get there without food, then you're in trouble, because there are only few buses a day at specific timings and tight schedule, and to go to the center to get some food, it'll take like 3-4 hours.
and there was no reception! it was a disaster because i missed the only bus that goes to narvik, and i didn't know its the only bus in the morning, so i missed it because there was nobody to ask except the very kind volunteers who tries to help, but still they're not locals.
and they have no gas in the kitchen because it's not allowed, so you can't cook, i spent my time making food in microwave.
and you have to pay for everything, even for the wood to make a bonfire outside, or the sauna to use it.
4.3
SERIOUSLY, I LOVED EVERYTHING THIS HOSTEL HAD TO OFFER INCLUDING THE LAKE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PATH AND VIEWS TO DIE FOR. EVERYTHING WAS EASY.
Unfortunately, being closed season, the cafe was closed so it is important to take your own food and drinks. Arriving cold, tired and wet without being able to eat normal food, (bar a pot noodle) was not good, although this is being resolved as we speak.
4.3
peaceful place and very large two beds suite
there aren’t so many options to eat around
would be great if you enable WhatsApp communication 😊
4.3
best hostel I stayed at in the lofoten! the staff was lovely, the place is so cosy and the area too. you need a car though, there are buses but it’s tricky without a car to get food (although many people at the hostel have them and will give you lift to the nearest super!)
4.3
One of the better hostels I've stayed in. The curtains around the bed give a nice sense of privacy within the dorms. The setting is beautiful. I had some nice chats with other guests in the common area.
Options for food storage and cooking are a bit ad-hoc/minimal. It's an old building with thin walls and loud pipes, so potential sound problems if you're sleeping next to a bathroom, but I slept fine really.
