First off you aren't going to currently find a more private spot on the beach. A beautiful private home on one side and a home that is not currently being rented on the other. At this end of Folly very few beach users so we loved this aspect very much. The home itself is just fine. It's a rental that could use some "elbow grease" here and there but there isn't a rental that couldn't. Not opulent by any stretch but then again we didn't pay for opulence. Home was very clean and all mechanics worked just fine. Kitchen was well equipped, linens, etc. Not a single complaint. Huge deck and a great view of ocean from living room. Would stay here again no problem.

About a month prior to the trip we looked at the house and noticed in the reviews people were mentioning the stairs to the beach were destroyed in a storm. We had to reach out to them about the stairs and it took 2 weeks to get a response confirming we did not have beach access. We looked at renting a different house, but there was nothing available.
The house was generally clean, but it had ants everywhere in the kitchen. We put all of our food in the cupboards to avoid the ants, but on day 2 of our stay, when I went to put sugar in my coffee, ants also came pouring out of the sugar container (that had been in the cupboard) into my coffee (yuck!). We had also noticed a crack on the ceiling above the kitchen counter. On Tuesday, this crack was much bigger so I reached out to the Vacasa (property management company) as outlined on the refrigerator. In the one hour it took to contact someone (corporate) and waiting for a reply which Vacasa will only do through text, a large portion of the ceiling came crashing down in the kitchen. It took 4 hours to get a hold of someone. They only communicate via text and I had to complain to get someone to come to the house to address it. They left the hole in the ceiling open overnight with soaking wet insulation. It reeked of mold, but Vacasa told me "mold doesn't grow in South Carolina." They knew there was a problem the week prior and they had still rented it to us. Communication was horrible. We won't stay there again.

House is as advertised. Small refund for lack of direct beach access which was an inconvenience but it is a short walk down the street to a public entrance to the beach. The beach behind the house was not often crowded but note that high tide comes right up to the rocks by where the stairs are currently blocked off.

The unit was clean for the most part. Could use some updating. Closets had stuff in them that should not have been there (ie. master closet had an old set of closet doors and an old rusty box fan in it). The steps to the beach were not there as they had been washed away but no one mentioned it to us before the stay. Plus, the construction guys working on the steps left their truck in the middle of the driveway most of the time we were there, and they were not around, so we were unable to pull all the way up to the home.

Great ocean front house! Location and quality of property was great.
There was no beach access while we were there and this was very disappointing as I had specifically inquired about the condition of beach access before arriving and I was assured that we would be able to get to the beach from the house. This was not the case however, the stairs going down to the beach had been destroyed at some point and were boarded up. This was disappointing, but the house was great otherwise.

I only rented this property for the access to the beach. It states in the property description that the stairs lead directly to the sand. The day before my arrival I received a text message letting me know the stairs were destroyed in a recent storm (weeks before my reservation was made) and that there was no access to the beach. You had to walk a very long distance down the street to access the beach.

Not as private as expected. Overall nice stay

Stained carpet, sagging mattress, random rust on chairs, doors, hardware. Multiple burned out lightbulbs. Internet would lock up if on devices while watching tv

House was very nice and clean and we had a great time watching the pelicans and dolphins from the deck. It's not quite as private as it seems, but it was still quiet. There's no beach at high tide, but it's neat to stand on the little pier and look at the ocean below. It's about a 30 minute walk to the end to see the light house.
Also, recommend using the grocery delivery service! It was great to arrive and just have things waiting for us.
Food recommendations: Taco Boy, Chico Feo, and Planet Follywood.

WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY...WISH WE'D HAD MORE TIME!

We loved the house and the location. The only thing that needs to be addressed is the steps heading to the beach. My teenage girls were able to go down, but we weren't able to enjoy the private beach because the boardwalk headed to the beach is missing at least 3 steps. The bottom step was to my 18 year olds knees. So that was disappointing for us less nimble parents. We enjoyed our stay despite that. It was a short trip for us so that was not as big of a deal for just 2 nights.

Our Family of 5 had a wonderful stay at "Shore N'uf" Lots of room to spread out with a huge great room, well equipped kitchen, and not one but 2 decks overlooking the beach (one on the house and one on the walkway over the dunes. even had a section of screened in porch attached to the main bedroom. The home has some age, so expect some wear and tear to show, but nothing that diminished our fun. The home was clean and had all that we needed! We would love to stay again!

I'm the type of vacationer who wants to go and do and see everything and who can't ever seem to relax, even on vacations where relaxation is the point. This place was the cure! The view from the deck is so spectacular, I found myself out there for hours at a time, watching, hearing, smelling and feeling the sea all around me. I saw dolphins every single day I was out there. I also watched the most incredible moon rise I've ever seen as well as some spectacular sunrises too. The beach is very private, and though people will walk across it from time to time, you're primarily out there with your family or group alone with no congestion whatsoever. The screened in porch is perfect for family dinners. The place itself is very comfy and cozy. Some night say it's dated, but I found most of the dated decor to be more nostalgic and actually adding to the experience rather than detracting. The only issue was the master bath Jacuzzi didn't have a drain and didn't work, but I don't even think that was advertised so not really an issue. The water was out for a day, at no fault of the owners, due to the city working, but, the owners gave us plenty of notice to prep for that, so that was really a plus for them too. We struggled saying goodbye to this place, but we all agreed, this is one to return to. Oh one more thing. There are some really cool and varied lizards art the wooden steps in the yard. Keep your eye out! The kids love em! :). A++++

The house has an excellent location, with fine views of the beach and ocean, and also the marsh. It has had a lot of work of recent, with new decks and an almost complete replacement of a stairway. Inside it was clean and generally in good condition. The kitchen and bathrooms were fine.
However, there were three problems. First, the house uses Direct TV which was inoperable for seven of the fourteen days we were there. Vacasa has given some rebate, but we would have much preferred the TV. Secondly all of the blinds facing the water fail to operate adequately, unable to slide across much of the windows and missing slats. One gets lots of light early. Finally the small ATT modem seems insufficient. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get on line at least a dozen times. Richard

It was what we wanted. Had a bit of delayed maintenance. One day of a handyman would have done wonders. We'd still rent it again.

House was clean, and stocked with all the necessities to shower, wash clothes and dishes, stairs to the beach were great for fishing, had a blast, would come back again!

The generous deck and incredible beach front location were the best part of our stay - we enjoyed great sunrises, empty beaches, and starry nights on the deck. The home's size, layout & open floor plan worked out great for our small group, but overall the place could use some upkeep to make it a more enjoyable stay. The cabinets/fixtures/fittings have seen better days and there are a few areas, in particular, that need attention (peeling paint/mold in the hall bath, torn porch screen, rusty fixtures, junky closets). It wouldn't take much to make Corley's a great place to come back to again and again.

We had a great girlfriends reunion at Folly Beach and your place provided a nice home base from which to explore the surrounding area.

We loved the location. And perfect house for 6 people. Beautiful beach front that wasn’t crowded. This was our 2nd year for this same house. We hope to be back again!! The only thing was it could use an internet upgrade.

We loved the way the house has a wall of sliding glass doors and a super nice porch with comfortable furniture that allowed us to feel like the ocean was in our backyard. We enjoyed many hours on the porch watching the pelicans and dolphins with just a few people walking by every now and then - almost like our own private beach!

Location great. Porch great. Not fancy. Waited until 4pm to be allowed to check in… I described house to my family as not great but not bad.

Great location- far enough away from public access to make the beach very quiet. Loved the decks and screen porch for late summer rains. Nice walk to the lighthouse park. Definitely a place for a true "beach" vacation. Clean with needed amenities but not fancy.

Perfect location!
House is dated and needs some work, but in a perfect location.
Has great views of the ocean. Vertical Blinds broke in living room and bedroom , rugs dirty and stained.
Deck furniture is plastic and covered with bird droppings.
Beds are clean and comfortable.

Quiet location away from the busy main street
Property needs some maintenance, but worked fine for our small family of 5. This is a nice beachfront property and it is priced right for what you get in return compared to others in the area. Beware of the big birds that fly over the porch, there is no canopy of protection ! The screened in porch is the best for viewing the ocean in safety.

Amazing Stay
We had an amazing stay in this home. It is clean and well appointed. We had to contact maintenance for a minor issue and they were quick and attentive. The view is breathtaking. We saw dolphins everyday. The lighthouse is about a mile and a half walk and was absolutely gorgeous. The neighborhood is also very welcoming even in the off season with several restaurants and shops close by. We would definitely recommend this listing.
