Uncle was so much fun! 3 hour drive and your in paradise. The Riv resort is a hidden gem. Girls weekend and it’s the best most relaxing trip we have ever taken. The cabin was comfortable, OCD clean, beds were so comfortable, design of cabin was very well put together and hospitality was above and beyond. On our way home we booked again for October . I highly suyrenting a pavilion it is steps away from the clearest water I’ve seen in Texas. Rented kayaks and spent two days on and in the water. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and grill. We sat outside around large fire pit and talked and talked. The Riv is extremely safe as you are checked on by security and hostess often. All guests were quiet and respectful of their neighbors. Large lots for tons of privacy. The pavilion had a grill, tables, electricity and shade. Going down to the river was great it offered steps for safety and you can walk right in the crystal clear water. Restrooms are available near pavilion so you don’t have to run back to cabin. The restrooms are immaculate! Plenty of supplies for women.we walked all over to see what we could see . Weather was cool at night with a wonderful breeze which is why we ate outside. Cell phone service is non existent unless you have ATT. Television has all streaming services you can name. My finger is tired but you get the picture I tried to paint. The Riv Resort is absolutely a bucket list item.

This was our second time staying at the resort. The water of the Nueces river is definitely the highlight, it’s beautiful! Everything about this place has been thoughtfully designed. The cabins are very comfortable and utilize the space very well; plenty of room and beds. The firepit and the front porch were thoroughly enjoyed. Our whole family loved it!

The Riv
We stayed at cabin 7 at The Riv over a long weekend. Property is beautiful & cabin was extremely neat and clean. Enjoyed the nice porch and if weather was cooler would’ve used the fire ring. Very accommodating with gas/charcoal grill. Short walk to the beautiful, clear water. I would not take very young children to the water in this area because it is very deep. We did however enjoy a morning of kayaking. Cabins are spaced well apart & there is a pickle ball, basketball area.
Due to Covid, it ended being only my husband & I. Our adult children were nervous too come.
Really hope the owners keep it a small resort in the future. We have given up renting places on the Frio because of large crowds, loud music, drunk tubers.
