About this house rental
Our house is located on the grounds of the Lake Junaluska Conference Center. We have a view of the lake and are an easy 1/2 mile walk to the Rose Garden paved walking trail which circles the lake. You also have access to 18 hole golf course, a 200 acre lake for fishing & boating, a large outdoor pool, pickle ball, putt putt, and 1200 beautifully landscaped acres in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The house is newly renovated and features full length windows and decks along the back of both stories with views of the lake, woods and mountains.
This upstairs has an open floor plan with 1000 square feet of living room, fully equipped kitchen, and dining area. It offers the perfect, comfortable place to hang out with your group. The master suite has a king bed and adjoining bathroom. The other upstairs bedroom has a queen and adjoining bath. Our loft has twin and queen mattresses for sleeping and toys. This is an ideal space for additional teens to stay overnight and/or children to sleep and play. It's located above the master bedroom and open to the living area, giving some privacy while still being open to the main area. The low ceiling and steps make it more ideal for older children and young adults. Full length decks on both floors overlook the lake and are ideal for morning coffee or an evening bar b que on the propane grills. Downstairs features a large master suite with king bed and a walk-in closet. The adjoining master bath has a whirlpool tub. The second bedroom has a queen bed and bathroom accessible from the living room. This space also has a fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining area.
Although we are on the Lake Junaluska grounds, our house is on the south side of the lake, away from the crowds, in what we consider the nicest neighborhood at the lake. A quarter mile (fairly flat) walk puts you on Lakeshore Drive and the walking trail. We are a 1.4 mile walk to the conference center. Our house sits on an acre lot with lots of woods behind us.
We are easily accessible from the highway. Since we are not at a high elevation and roads to our place are paved, access to our house is convenient, even in bad weather. Our semicircular driveway is right off the road, giving easy access to the house - a rarity in the mountains. The downstairs laundry room has a washer and dryer for guest use. Baby equipment and toys can be made available upon request. Large groups wanting easy access to both floors can use the inside steps. For guests wanting more privacy between floors, each floor has an outside entrance with lock box.
We are 10 minutes from the quaint towns of Waynesville and Maggie Valley which provide great shopping, restaurants, and recreation. We are a 30 minute drive to Asheville with its endless dining choices, eclectic festivals and entertainment and the Biltmore House. We are 20 minutes from Cataloochee Skiing. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also 20 minutes away and is paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Countless hiking trails, waterfalls, Sliding Rock and beautiful mountain scenery are abundant. Our location has something for everyone.

The stay was great b

This home was absolutely perfect. Its open floor plan and two main bedrooms were perfect for our family. We loved the large deck and the common living spaces were very comfortable. The drive to Lake Junaluska was short & simple, and my husband even chose to walk the path around the lake some. Additionally, Leslie responded quickly when I had a question. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this place to anyone needing a peaceful retreat.

Here for an entire month and it had all the comforts of home! Owners were easy to get in touch with and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Quiet and easy to get to. Great neighborhood!

Great location. Great for large family. Two separate living spaces was ideal.

Absolutely not one negative thing to say about this property. VERY clean, organized and outstanding views. The owner had plenty of games, books and puzzles for all ages. Were rained in the entire weekend, but we were completely at ease in this beautiful home.
Again, the house was spotless. The house was supplied with everything needed, but not too much, NO clutter at all.

It was very specious for our crowd to enjoy each other for Christmas with Mimi and Poppy and everyone had their own space as well... very clean and it was everything we needed.
The only thing I would want different is that my bad would be more comfortable...two out of four of the beds were not as comfortable!

Our overall stay was okay. When we first arrived the house was very cold!(49 degrees) it took a few minutes for us to figure out how to get the heat turned on and took a long time for it to warm up!(6hours) The house is very big but some of the bedrooms are very small. The beds were comfortable but most of the other furniture was not. The kitchen was nice but the microwave was not working properly. The loft was a cool idea but not for adults! I am just over 5 feet and I couldn't stand up. The ladder and entrance to the loft was a little scary. I would not recommend letting anyone under 8 go up there without adult help. We tried using the gas fireplace but fumes collected in the loft so we turned it off. I don't like to be critical but these are things that people need to know. I went by the reviews that other people left and so I was expecting something nicer. This home has great potential but needs improvements. Also, bring your own dishwasher pods, kitchen linens and trash bags.
There were positives. The location was good. We visited Asheville, Cherokee and Waynesville all very close by.! Waynesville was only 5 mins away and a great place to eat and shop. There was a very nice view of the lake and you could see the sunrise to the right of the lake.

The house was a delightful experience for our group.
The owner/host was very responsive to our requests and questions. The beds were all very comfortable, which is very important! The location of the home was convenient and easy to get to. We were only there for two nights and made the most of our short visit. Some of the girls walked around the lake via the hike from the house and we spent one afternoon in Waynesville, a most delightful and charming town to visit.
All the ladies agreed we would like to come back to this location and house again for our next ‘Girls Trip’. It was a great weekend.🥰

Great family reunion rental!
Having two kitchens was wonderful with the small children. The two balconies also were great hanging out places. The kayak rental of $10 per person was also great so all could go out on the lake.

WCU Graduation Weekend
This was a great house to stay at with the whole family. It sets up nice for a big family. The family area was nice and roomy and there were plenty of seats. Having 2 separate living areas was a plus. We weren't there much but the time we were all in the house was perfect.
Thank you!

Lake Junaluska
Our experience at this Lake Junaluska property could not have gone better. We came up with a few other couples and having queen and king size beds plus the huge back decks plus the large open great room was exactly what we needed. We had a couple people walk to the lake which was super convenient. Extremely convenient to golf, Cherokee and Asheville ended up making this a great location for us and would absolutely come back.

Relaxing time with friends
This property had plenty of room for our group of 11. The kids took over the downstairs which gave us plenty of room for adult relaxing upstairs. We couldn't even hear them. The property was clean upon arrival and well stocked with anything we might need. The owners were more than kind and helpful. We plan to stay here again in the future.
