We first stayed here in summer 2022 and this summer returned for a 3 week stay. It was even better this time! Beautiful landscaping improvements made it an even more attractive location. This home is so well equipped and comfortable. Whether looking out at the water from inside or from a seat on the dock, the views are mesmerizing. It’s a great place to kayak and soak up the sun, and it is close to everything! The property owner is wonderful and responsive. We will definitely return for a third visit in the future!

One of the best properties I have stayed at during my son’s 4 years at URI. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Karen is a great host. She’s quick to respond to any inquiries and went out of her way to make sure our stay was great. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds are comfortable. Living room is spacious and has great view of the river. Backyard had 5 Adirondack chairs and patio furnitures was there for plenty of seating and great view of the water. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Do not hesitate to stay at Karen’s property.

Great location. Beautiful views.

Everything about this property is a delight. It is like visiting a friend, or being in your own home, as opposed to (even very nice) rentals. There is not even the slightest hint of the usual sterile, builder-grade construction and appointment. The expanse of windows set the stage for the stunning river vistas in this lovely welcoming space furnished with comfort and casual elegance. As you think of something that you need, all you have to do is open a drawer, a closet, a pantry, and there it is.
The owner shares fascinating stories and fantastic recommendations and even the neighbors are friendly. There are multiple kayaks for renters to use, and spending time kayaking up and down the river is truly sublime. We cannot wait to return!

The Nest is a hidden gem in Narragansett. It has the most beautiful view from the living room. Loved watching boaters, kayakers, paddle boarders, etc going up/down the river, not to mention all kinds of birds. The dock is great (looks new) and very peaceful. There are kayaks available along with other water play items. The kitchen is new and has everything one needs. Extra bonus: there are many hand rails around the home that were especially helpful for my elderly parent. Anyone with mobility issues will appreciate them. Communication with the owner and property manager was great. It was a great stay!

Very nice/bright/clean house with a riverfront dock + 2 kayaks.
A/C on main floor and MBR, but not in the finished basement.
Small private beach within walking distance.
Great location for kayaking/running/biking.
Walgreens and convenience stores - 5 minute drive.
Full-service grocery store - 15 minute drive.
Overall it was a great place to vacation.

Our stay at “The Nest” was wonderful and relaxing. A member of our group has some mobility limitations and the bed/bath on the first floor was perfect. The outside spaces were lovely - unfortunately weather was not very cooperative for us to enjoy much! One note is that if planning to sleep in the finished basement bring earplugs as the furnace is within the space and quite noisy. We adapted by using the basement sitting area but sleeping on upstairs couch. Overall great location to access Narragansett, Newport, Pt. Judith and surrounding areas. Clean and very comfortable home. Great kitchen space and cozy common areas. If offered in the summertime, would love to stay again!

Great. Plenty of handrail support for older guests.

Quick summary: this house is very well-maintained; very well-equipped . Lovely residential neighborhood. Great view over Narrow River in the Pettaquamscutt Lake area. Very nice owner.
This was our second stay at this property. The house is very well-maintained, and feels very spacious. The living area and bedrooms have beautiful views over the Narrow River. There are a number of sitting areas, indoor and out, that are comfortable and have the views.
The kitchen is very well kitted out with high quality appliances and equipment, i.e. pots & pans; dishware; barware; etc. Lots of all kinds of appliances (e.g. blender; Keurig and regular coffee pot, serveware...)
Excellent on-site main floor washer and dryer.
Two bedrooms have very comfortable beds and pillows. Each has good closet space (one walk-in!) and at least one chest of drawers so you can really settle in. Basement accommodations, too.
Nice bathrooms (one with a roomy shower; the other a tub/shower combo -- I love having a real bathtub). Good storage space for your toiletries, etc.
Lots of high quality sheets, towels, beach towels, etc.
HVAC and wifi work very well.
We LOVE the backyard. Aside from the view, it offers both shade and sun at different times of day. When you hit those really hot days, the shade is appreciated. There are also Adirondack chairs overlooking the river, portable beach chairs, dining table and chairs for outside dining.
There is a dock and a place to get into the river for a swim, kayak ride, etc. It is nice to have that place to swim when you don't have the energy to get to the beach (or want to deal with a crowded beach day,) or just want a quick dunk. The area right by the shore can get a bit mucky, so I recommend water shoes, but it is not a large area. The house comes with an assortment of water toys, noodles, etc.
The dock is also a lovely area to hang out in the evening.
The residential area is quite nice. Quiet, but not far from restaurants, town, attractions, beaches, etc. There is a community beach a few houses away. The clubhouse and neighborhood have various events where renters were welcome to attend -- nothing loud or crazy, very family-oriented.
Due diligence: the upstairs bedroom is up a somewhat steep set of stairs. Handrails are on both sides, and my husband and I were fine, but it might have been a challenge to someone with mobility issues. Still, there is a nice first-floor bedroom.
We look forward to a return.

Great stay near Narragansett
Really a nice stay. Beautiful views. Extremely quiet neighborhood - very relaxing. Fully equipped kitchen. Had everything. Two singles and a double kayak. Floats for river. Wifi worked great - no problem to do zoom calls.
We did an eight mile round trip kayak to the ocean. There is a beach only accessible by boat there. Had we known, I would have packed a picnic lunch! We cycled all through the area, including to the ferry and took our bikes to block island. Really pretty! Used the grill almost every day. Great to have cable to watch tv.
Note: AC unit only in MBR and is loud and one for the main floor. The 2nd br only has a fan. That was unexpected, but we still had a great time and would truly recommend! Karen the owner was super quick to answer any questions we had.

Beautiful View!
We rented this property for my dad‘s 80th birthday celebration. We had a wonderful time! The property is beautifully clean, and exactly as listed. We enjoyed using the kayaks, and sitting out on the deck in the evenings. Karen was a wonderful host, and I would definitely go back again!

Handicap accessible
We totally enjoyed our stay here. I rented Karen's property for my mothers 83rd Birthday. The home was beautiful, and the most well appointed kitchen I've had at a VRBO. Thank you Karen for sharing your home with us and for making our stay so comfortable and an overall exceptional experience. Highly recommend staying here. We will be back.

A pleasant and peaceful experience
As advertised. Was much more serene and quiet than I expected. Really enjoyed the experience. My family and I rented the place for a reunion and we all felt at home here. We had everything we needed to really unwind after a stressful few weeks. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Wonderful Respite, Accomodatons and Location
Could not have been more pleased. The property was as represented in the VRBO information. It was fully stocked with what one needed to spend a few days. The view from the living room and backyard was peaceful. Landscaping of trees and flowers added to the serenity. We kayaked, cooked, read and relaxed. Access to restaurants, fish mongers and other amenities was convenient. We highly recommend this property.

A Rhode Island Gem
The house was simple beautiful. Clean, well stocked, and the perfect spot for a relaxing time. The location is convenient to beaches, The cliff walk and multiple restaurants. I highly recommend staying at Karen’s home and we will be doing so again in the future.

Spring Getaway
We have rented many times using VRBO & have never been disappointed. The layout of The Nest was perfect for our needs ... two couples ... and the décor was very comfortable. The home provided everything you would need to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing getaway. The kitchen and pantry were stocked with everything you could ever need during a visit. The living room furniture was incredibly comfortable, and the view was very soothing. While we did not need assistance from the owners, we knew Karen was available if needed. We would highly recommend this home to anyone planning to visit the Narragansett/Newport area.

Great property in a great location.
Great property with a fantastic history … property is very well kept and very clean!! Karen is very attentive and was in constant contact. We were in the area for our son’s graduation from Navy OCS over in Newport and finding this property was a win/win. Thanks much Karen and Jennifer(property manager) … our stay was amazing!!

Paradise in Rhode Island
Fabulous property on the Narrow River/Pettaquamscutt Lake. Beautiful views of the lake/river. Almost everyday there was some action on the river (boats, fisherman, birds). Binoculars were provided for closeups. Close to beaches, Jamestown, Newport and South County. Wish we could stay in the Summer months!
VERY comfortable bed in the master bedroom.
I would certainly rent again.

Stunning River Views
Beautiful river view from all rooms. Nice outdoor seating areas throughout the property. My husband enjoyed fishing off of the private dock. Very close proximity to Newport and other quaint towns. Enjoyed our last day in Wickford on the water while having hot lobster rolls.

The blissful getting away we didn’t realize we needed until we walked through the front door!
This was a little getaway for hubby and self, and our adult kids and their significant others. Everything about our stay at this gorgeous hideaway was perfect! We unplugged from our outside stressors and plugged in to each other and nature. We reconnected with nature, we reconnected with each other, we reconnected, we reconnected with ourselves. We did puzzles and read books, talked, laughed, drank wine, listened to the silence, and kayaked for days! No one wanted to leave!!! Everything and anything you can think of that you would need was present in the home. The home was pristine yet so incredibly comfortable and inviting with magnificent views for days! Can’t wait until our next getaway!

Beautiful view
The property could not be in a better location. It was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kayaks were a great plus. Best of all was just being able to sit and look at the water!

Really calming!
We really enjoyed the location with a dock for swimming on the lake/river. Also, Scarborough Beach is quite close. The extra quiet neighborhood was a plus, we got to truly relax. The bed was very comfy and the main living room furniture too. I’m a gourmet cook, so the kitchen wasn’t for me, but it’s fine for most families. The decor overall is a little dated, and the bathrooms merely just ok. However, this is a really beautiful property and a GREAT place to unwind! Here’s a plug for our favorite restaurants: Celestial Cafe in Exeter and the Matunuck Oyster Bar. And Dave’s Marketplace supermarket in Wickford is the best.

My children (22 - 27yr olds) and I fell in love with this property within 5 minutes of our arrival. It was the most peaceful and beautiful place to spend our week in RI. Although it is listed as 2 bedrooms, the basement had a bed and pull-out couch and was the perfect space for one of my children, as well. We had plenty of room for the 4 of us, and enjoyed the very open living space to entertain family that live in the area, as well, one night. All of them (residents of RI) were blown away by the property and the view (and the air conditioning!! - it was unseasonably hot and humid the first few nights of our trip) and validated what I already knew... we had found the perfect place for our RI stay! The property, both inside and out, was just lovely! My 25 yr. old daughter may have said it best when our first night there said, "Well this place is perfect! It already feels like home. You know we're just going to have to come here every year now, right?" :)I certainly hope we are able to return soon!

Amazing view
Great house in a great location with the most amazing view. Everything was was wonderful. The only complaint is there was no querig. We saw it in the pictures, but maybe it broke. However there was a dunks up the street. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this property

Nice, but smelly.
It’s a charming house in a great area, but seemed to have animal urine/dander smell throughout and the master bathroom was almost impossible to use due to a pungent odor, like a dirty locker room, to put it mildly. Karen seemed nice and I think the place would be a real gem with a deep cleaning and overhaul.

Beautiful setting right on the sheltered water of the Narrow River. Gorgeous view from the living room windows. Kayaks available and Karen was always responsive to any questions.

Idyllic View over the River
The view through 180 degrees of windows in the living room is amazing. Sweet multi-level backyard that leads down to a dock (great place to have morning coffee, among many other activities). The well-stocked house sits perched on the edge of a lake-like river in a quiet residential neighborhood near a cute little beach just a few houses down. A great place to stay, especially with kids!
