The lower level patio offers a space for a bit of privacy. As you head down to the lake, you'll discover a fire pit.
“What about the water?” you say. You’ll find plenty of space to lounge on the expansive dock, complete with tiki bar. Walk in at the shore, but enjoy the deeper water from the end of the dock. Three kayaks offer you convenience to explore the cove or head out to the main lake. With two electric, covered boat lifts and a place for your jet ski, the dock has everything you need.
Take a look at the bedroom configuration. Your large group won’t be crammed together, and you won’t fight for the bathroom. The main floor features three king bedrooms, one queen bedroom and 2.5 baths. The “penthouse” includes a bath with shower and the room features one king and three twins . The lower level has a queen bedroom, a king bedroom, and a full bath. There's also a sofa bed in the media room.
Blue Sails is one of the few pet friendly homes at Lake Anna. We welcome a maximum of three dogs with a reasonable, non-refundable fee/pet/stay. VRBO will only add one pet fee, so if you want additional pets approved, you may pay outside of VRBO.

This house was perfect for our family of 13 people, ages 2 to 70. We had plenty of room and it was unanimous, everyone in the family wants to make this home the place we will stay every year for our Labor Day Family Getaway!

The House was perfect for our family, very clean and tastefully decorated. However the property needs some work, tiki bar was full of yard debris, outdoor refrigerator needed cleaning, most of the chairs around the fire pit were broken and the grass had not been mowed.
Hopefully all will be taken care of. We would rent this property again.

This property was used for a corporate retreat. Wonderful location. Clean, and exactly as described. There was an issue with the AC upon check, during a warmer day but it was resolved the same day. Quick comms from Host.

Blue Sails is a large house with adequate space and nice amenities. The access to Lake Anna is very convenient and was great for our younger kids (age 4-10) to swim and float on tubes in the cove. The neighbors were pleasant and not loud despite it being the 4th of July. My kids also enjoyed using the kayaks from the house. The deck was spacious and provided plenty of room for sunbathing and they also had several nice chairs and a table on the deck. Since we had good weather, we didn’t take advantage of the game tables (billiards and shuffleboard). Nice features we didn’t expect were clean linens in separate labels bags for each bed) and enough dishes and silverware for 20 or more guests. The kitchen appliances were also very new and were well suited for our meals since we did a lot of cooking there. We also enjoyed the large sectional couches and chairs in the living room where all of us could gather at one time. The “penthouse” was spacious and fun for the kids.

This was great place for the 2 boats brought by the families. The third floor "stage" was great for all the musicals put on by the younger members of our party. Lots of games and puzzles on ground floor to enjoy on the rainy day we had.

Something for everyone. The little kids enjoyed running up and down the stairs to their own room. The older folks enjoyed having most things on the first floor so they did not have to go up the stairs. The location was lovely. Made for a wonderful stay.

The house is nice and clean: many common areas, even a small gym, screened porch, nice bedrooms. The owner is very attentive and is easy to communicate with. We used the owner's kayaks to explore the lake.

This house is even better than the pictures and has plenty of room for a big group. We especially enjoyed the large outdoor area right on the lake. Kate was so communicative and made the check in and check out process very easy. We are already trying to plan a return trip!

We had an amazing stay at Lake Anna Blue Sails. The house is enormous - even bigger than it looks in the pictures. We were there in winter during snow/ice so didn't do much on the lake, but the dock is right there with easy access. We'd love to be back during warmer weather!Pros: tons of space; gorgeous main room with a fireplace and plenty of seating for everyone; comfortable beds with soft linens and plush towels; well-equipped kitchen that even had good, sharp knives (only thing I'd suggest bringing is one or two extra sheet pans if you have a big crowd - there are three, but we could've used another); gorgeous views of the lake and surrounding trees; awesome game room with tons of board games; solid Wifi; grocer store less than 15 minutes away; garage with room for two cars to stay out of the elements; extremely attentive and caring host.Cons: my only real con is that the listing says that there's a hot tub, and there isn't. There's a large soaking tub in the master suite and a jetted bathtub in the basement, but no hot tub. Honestly we didn't miss the hot tub at all because we enjoyed the house so much, but it does seem like the listing should be accurate. We had very few issues during our stay, and Kate was always easily accessible and responsive if anything happened to come up.This house is even better than it seems. So glad we were able to spend a weekend there!

Great Escape
We were looking to get away and just have some space indoors and out.
We have been pretty much locked in the house all winter and it was wonderful to have plenty of space for our son to play. We enjoyed multiple fires and s'mores outside.
Kate and Steve were immediate to respond to any questions we had.
We plan on heading back in the spring for a week. Hopefully it will be nice enough for some fishing and maybe even some boating from the houses boathouse.
We appreciate their communication and that the house was clean. We were also able to bring our dogs which limits our trips many times.

Wonderful Holiday Getaway!
We had a wonderful holiday celebration at Blue Sails! We thoroughly enjoyed drinking coffee, eating meals, and making gingerbread houses on the covered porch with the surprising 60* weather! It was so nice to have a Christmas tree decorated to put our presents under and the great room had plenty of sitting room for lots of family time. Plenty of open space for baby to crawl around and there was more than enough space for the pack-n’-play in the HUGE master closet. If you have sensitive skin or are sensitive to smells you may want to bring your own sheets and towels because the fabric softener had a very strong smell. I will say the sheets and towels were both very soft though! Also we seemed to always be filling up the trash can in the kitchen but I think that is because we are used to having 2 cans (one for recycling) at home. The bags go in cans in the garage which is just off of the kitchen so it wasn’t a big deal to take it out. A second trash can would be a nice addition. Overall, we had a wonderful stay with everything we needed!

A great time by all
Blue Sails was perfect for the occasion. The place was immaculate and the pictures did not do it justice. It was large enough to accommodate the whole family gathering in the kitchen, dining room, and screened outdoor patio, but also large enough to get some relaxation away from the family. The house was beautiful and the view was wonderful; the neighbors were nice, the kitchen had everything we needed, and sitting on the dock is the just the thing you need this year. Wonderful retreat!
Blue Sails was just what we needed to escape for a week! The house is spacious and comfortable with all of the linens, kitchen supplies, puzzles and games we could have needed. (The kids loved the foosball table and puzzle nook in the loft.) The Wi-Fi is strong and Roku TVs easy to use. We ate every meal on the screened in porch except for when we ate dinner around the fire pit or on the dock. We LOVED the three kayaks and paddled up and down the coast, to Rose Valley Island, and to the other side of the lake. The house is on a little inlet, so is secluded and a little quieter than being on the main lake. Only wish we had brought bikes and scooters to ride on the cul-de-sac.
Kate was such a gracious host and even found some kid-sized life jackets for us to use. Hope to return soon!

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was very clean and the layout allowed everyone to come together for games and movies, but still retreat to separate parts of the home when needed. We had a fun evening in the game room and enjoyed sitting out on the dock. We would recommend this property!

A perfect long weekend at Blue Sails
Our group of 17 (five families) traditionally spends Labor day at Deep Creek or Lake Anna, and this is one of the most beautiful and comfortable houses we’ve stayed in. It is super clean, well furnished and stocked, with plenty of space for everybody. It is right on the lake, with a spacious dock (part of which is always in the shade) and among other amenities - three kayaks that you can use. Even though you are in a little cove, the traffic on the lake was pretty busy but everyone was friendly and courteous. We’ve had a wonderful time at Blue Sails and hope to come again.

Fantastic Family Get Away
What a great lake vacation! The lake house is as big as described and the boat house/dock area was better than imagined. Lots of open dock area to sunbath and enough shady areas too; 3 kayaks, 3 boat lifts, a ton of fish and located in a small inlet, so you miss the big lake traffic. Kate was super easy to work with. We will be back next summer.

Family Get Together at the Lake
Great getaway to reunite with family members. House was large, clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. It was great to have the big screened in porch to eat meals. The fire pit was also a nice feature. The boat rental was a quick 30 minute ride on the lake. We were rained out for one day but still able to use the dock and porch. We will definitely consider renting again

Spacious and Perfect Location for Families
We booked Blue Sails for a long weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. Three families - a mix of adults and kids (4 years to 17). The best part about this property is the lake location and its ease to get to from the house. A huge green lawn and a slight walk to a well lit dock/boat house with kayaks, chairs, tables - all you need to enjoy the lake even at night. The kids LOVED jumping from the dock, the depth was perfect, water was clear, and the cove location protects everyone from the speeding boats.
At night, the fire pit was a great way to wind down - toasting smores, and the property has plenty of chairs so our large group had no problem gathering around. The yard is massive, and worked well for the three pups we had. But you'd never know this house allows dogs - it was spotless.
The inside worked well for us, lots of space, huge kitchen. We were able to spread out the three families in different two different wings and a nice basement space. The kids loved the loft area and claimed it for their own space.
Location is tucked into a small neighborhood but you are only 15 mins from the Food Lion, Subway, Pizza place, dollar store, etc. so it was easy to hop out to grab what we needed.
Kate was also a great host and made sure we had all we needed. Don't hesitate to book this property. We had 13 people and a few dogs and we had plenty of space indoors for more, ample parking as well. You won't be disappointed. We'll be back!
