About this house rental
The perfect family vacation spot! Perfect for one large family or to share between two families. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms plus a bonus room for the kids so adults and kids can enjoy their own fun time in two completely different areas. For those that would rather enjoy the surf and sand, we are just 3 houses from the beach - a very easy walk to get you back and forth from the beach so not a big deal if you have to get back to the house.
The house sits on the back bay at the eastern end of the island and offers a large floating dock and gazebo where you can swim, fish and launch your kayaks, paddle boards or dock your boat. Beautiful decks and large screened in porch allow you to enjoy the gorgeous marsh area throughout the day.
The kitchen offers brand new appliances and a wonderfully stocked kitchen so you are able to stay in and cook from home to enjoy more time on the island.
Below the house is a brand new large outside shower and changing area as well as a great entertaining area for friends and family. There is also a gas grill downstairs for cookouts.
All bedrooms, living room and bonus room are furnished with smart TVs and the house has high-speed WiFi. There is also a renters closet downstairs where you can find a wagon to take supplies down to the beach as well as beach umbrellas and chairs.

The house was lovely! Perfect!

This location is perfect, right on the bay with a great view toward Tubb's Inlet and a short walk to the beach access. We even managed to catch quite a few fish out back! The house fit our family perfectly, the upstairs flex room is great for kids and each bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen we have ever seen in a vacation rental, perfect for cooks. We also really appreciated the accessible storage closet full of beach chairs, boogie boards, and even a beach cart. Communicating with the hosts was a breeze, they were helpful and responded promptly. We all agreed we wanted to rent this house again, we loved it!

The location and house are excellent. They had a great selection of beach items to use and stocked the house with necessities like paper towels/toilet paper/etc., so we didn’t have to run out right away. The only issue we ran into was with arrival. The house was not ready at 4:00 like promised as the cleaning crew was still there. They also do not offer early arrival, so plan accordingly if coming from out of state. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!

I have been coming to Sunset Beach on family vacations since 1984, and we've tried many houses over the years. We love the bay front, and this house is a perfect example of why!
This property is exactly as advertised. It is in a perfect location on the narrow end of the island. You get to enjoy the views over the bay from the house, yet you are only about 200 yards from the beach.
On the bay, we enjoyed watching the fiddler crabs digging their holes at low tide, and as the tide was coming up we were able to watch the larger blue crabs scavenging too. We used blood worms to catch a handful of spot off the dock, which were the first fish my kids had ever caught! We had Mr. Beach Rentals deliver a doube kayak for us to explore the bay and marsh areas (beware the tides if you aren't familiar with kayaking in tidal waters).
We had 4 generations of my wife's family staying together in the house. Plenty of space for 4 sets of adults in the bedrooms, and then 3 kids in the game room area. The beds were comfy enough that I heard no complaints all week. The kitchen is well stocked, and the supply of initial supplies was helpful.
The porch area was perfect for us to enjoy some meals together outside. This is one of the best outdoor seating areas I've seen. The screened in porch is great during high bug times, but we did NOT have any bugs while sitting out on the dock or porch. The outdoor shower is in fantastic condition with plenty of space to help my kids shower too.

This is an outstanding property! The online pictures are good but this house is the best! Everything you could possibly need was provided. Very close to the beach access and the canal is great for boating and fishing. This was one of the best beach vacations ever!

We found this property fit all the needs of a very enjoyable and relaxing family vacation. Our time was spent almost equally between the easily accessible beach front and the bay side with nice pier and navigation to backwaters and the ICW. Neat and clean well stocked kitchen and house. Would recommend for a family getaway.

I would highly recommend booking this spacious house for the location and endless fishing options. The house is totally set up with you in mind.

*Personal bathroom for each couple. (The rental includes 5 bedrooms but we only had 4 couples, so it worked perfect for us)
*The dock! The men fished all day and night, just steps from the house.

*Easy access to the beach. (Unfortunately, our direct beach access was under repair)

*Go for the golf cart for quick trips to Costal Grounds or the pier.

*Beck's restaurant in Calabash was okay. Blackened grouper is a must! Although we didnt make it, the locals suggested Seafood Hut.
*Grab boiled nuts in Calabash. On your way to Calabash, keep your eyes open for gators.
*Go to Spilt Milk for the best donuts.

Perfect location
This is an amazing home at the perfect location. Can fish or catch crab right from the dock or take a 2 min walk to the the beach. The beach has soft powder white sand and the water is clean with no seaweed. The canal is full of fish and crabs. There is a gazebo for shade. The home boast 3 decks, outdoor privacy shower with hot water, grill, several areas to hose off an the beach supplies you could want. Nice trex outdoor furniture. Inside you have a well equipped kitchen, nice washer and dryer, several bedrooms with on suites. Home is well maintained and clean. Beds are comfortable with quality sheets and towels. The owners are friendly and thoughtful; they give you a welcome gift which includes a nice tote to keep, pack of cards, paper towel roll, toilet paper, trash bags, dishwashing tabs, laundry tabs, dish sponge, dish soap and hand soap. Loved this place and would definitely return.

Awesome view and location
We had six adults and three toddlers stay at Elizabeth’s house over Memorial Day weekend and we had the best time! The location was sooo close to the beach and the house had an amazing deck with great views! There was plenty of room in the bedrooms and 4 bathrooms! It was great! The kids loved showering in the downstairs outdoor shower. We would definitely stay here next year.

Head over heels with Windswept
We came to Sunset to celebrate my late father's life. We were simply head over heels with Windswept. Looks to be an original stilt house that has been updated. Stunning brand new back deck overlooking the canal for that amazing view which includes a screened in porch section. We had the open porch side to sip on libations and take in the night sky with my brother's telescope. You can hear the waves and there is a simple straight shot to beach access. Pleasantly surprised with the beach supplies: wagon, chairs, even beach toys for our 4 year old! Everything is so clean, and updated. Genuine TLC has breathed life into this lovely home. The outside grill plus well stocked and open kitchen provided perfect at-home grill-out family time. Super comfy rooms with wonderful decor. Simply one of the best houses we have ever stayed in. Everyone was in awe. Thank you!

Awesome Vacation
We just spent an amazing week at this wonderful beach home. You get the best of both worlds here, the back deck overlooks the inlet and the house is an extremely short walk to the beach. We loved sitting on the back deck in the mornings and evenings, swimming in the inlet, and cooking in the fabulously stocked kitchen. We can’t wait to come again next summer!

Daily we watched egrets, herons, pelicans, and one day-dolphins. Our kayakers found easy travel places to explore and to get a good morning or evening workout. The beach is a very short walk and actually closer to the house than when we were oceanfront dwellers on the west side of the island.This home designed and furnished to provide both private, alone spaces as well as inviting places for large gatherings.

The location on the canal and just a short walk to the beach was perfect. Nice quiet location for family between age 16 and 86 to get together. House was very clean. The overall experience exceeded our expectations!

Perfect beach stay
The house was everything we needed for a quick weekend away! Well stocked kitchen (NB: there is a kureg, which works great, just not a large 12 pot coffee pot if you have a crowd), great location, comfortable beds. Loved the location - could easily drop in my paddle board off the dock. Quick walk to beach (one road away) Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful House
The house was exactly as described and better. The photos do the house no justice. It is so much nicer and comfortable in person. This was our first time renting a place on the canal instead of on the ocean, and we had a great experience. The house was literally right across the street from the beach, which was very convenient. The area was very quiet and clean. I will definitely have to say that this is one the of cleanest beaches/communities I have been to. The only reason I didn't give a complete 5 star rating was because the refrigerator had a strong odor in it and there were some bugs in the house the morning we were leaving. We noticed that the smell kind of disappeared after we had put stuff in the fridge, but came back after the fridge was emptied. As for the bugs, I'm not sure if they were roaches or waterbugs, but we had first seen one in the storage room underneath the house the day before we left and then a few in the downstairs hallway the morning we were leaving. These weren't a huge issue for us though since the smell was not really noticeable after groceries were put in the fridge, and we did not see any bugs inside the house until the morning we were leaving. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

A wonderful birthday weekend!
We had a fantastic weekend stay! The house was beautiful, clean, and perfectly located with a gorgeous view of the canal in back and the beach just a close walk away. The owner, Elizabeth, was very quick to get a hold of and super friendly and helpful with questions we had. It was the perfect place to celebrate my 40th and plenty of space for 7 adults, 4 kids and 2 babies.

Perfect for Us
The house was very clean and well maintained. Everything worked as it was explained in the emails. Our family has been gathering at Sunset Beach for the past 20+ years. This has been our favorite house. It was a short/easy walk to the beach, the littles were able to fish in the day and night and the preteens and teens enjoyed having their own space in the house to sleep and floating on the bay in the late afternoons. Mark was super helpful and spot on when telling us how to navigate the sand bars in the boat to get to the waterway. This will NOT be our last time renting this home.

Family vacation/birthday celebration
My husband and I took our kids and a few of their friends for a much needed vacation. We absolutely loved how spacious the house was and the beautiful view of the canal from the back deck. The teens had plenty of sleeping space as well as room for entertainment. The owners were very friendly, helpful and punctual with any questions or concerns we may have had. Our stay was wonderful. We will definitely return again for our next beach trip.
