perfect little paradise for relaxation

Relaxing throughout our stay. we were made to feel very welcome at all times. The grounds are impecably kept by the staff and all staff were happy to help in every way.

Good Hotel

The position of the hotel which was very close to the town and the beach. The staff were really helpful and friendly The cleanliness of our room was exceptional. Shower was excellent. Air con in room was very good.

Breakfast was ok. Strange mixture of hot food. Not normal sausages, no bacon some days. If some food ran out it was not replaced.

Das Makis hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen!

Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Strand ist sehr gut und ruhig. In nächster Umgebung gibt es viele Tavernen. Es gab sogar ein Strand-Service. Das Personal - überwiegend junge Leute - war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Am Pool sind ausreichend Liegen vorhanden. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm. Die Architektur ist sehr ansprechend und einladend.

Kleiner Kritikpunkt: das Frühstück bietet nicht sehr viel Abwechslung. Aber es ist ausreichend.

Idyllic hotel in beautiful Kefalonia

The staff were A-MAZING. The owner is on site and you can tell their attention to detail. The rooms were clean and updated. Grounds were beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The proximity to the beach was fantastic and the hotel provided umbrella service at the beach as well as food and drink service to the beach. Beach was great and there is a water sports company close by so my kids enjoyed that. The kids enjoyed the hotel pool. Hotel bar provided a variety of food and drink options, including fresh, healthy smoothies and yummy, milk shakes. Back to the staff...they were super friendly and accommodating. We were in a jam and they went above and beyond to help us out. This is a well run hotel and just made our vacation that much better.

Great potential. Bad value for money. Constantly feel like a tourist being ripped off.

The facilities were great and very well decorated. If you book the right room, you have a nice view. The location was good, short walk from many places.

You had to pay extra for everything. Absolutely everything, we felt like we were at a low cost airline. The breakfast was very very basic for a 200€/night hotel (don't get duped by the pictures), and if you arrived a bit later (such as at 9h00 when the breakfast closes at 10h00) you might already not have some of the pastries or dishes. If you wanted even just an iced coffee (in the country of iced coffees) you needed to pay over 4€. The restaurant hotel was only open until 4pm, and the food was mostly frozen stuff, which again, for the price of the hotel and price of the dishes is not really excusable. The staff was clearly very untrained, which is generally fine except that there was a lack of professionalism, most of them didn't know how to answer your questions, or found weird excuses to inexcusable things (such as not having hot water half of the days we tried showering). At the beach they had beds that were from the hotel, and for that too you needed to pay extra. For the 200€/night hotel's beach and beds. Honestly very bad value for money. Had it been cheaper, it would've been a great hotel. Given the price of the hotel I was expecting much more.

Lovley stay

Very friendly staff, cleaniness was superb, great location & breakfast was good.

Just a little complaint, we paid £180.00 per night, but hotel guests have to pay for sunbeds on the beach, when non hotel guests could use the hotel sunbeds & pool without any charge, some days Sunbeds were very limited around the pool, The pool needs a little upgrade as its looking a little tired and the grout is turning green.

Great beach location with good big oool

Great warm pool, very good breakfast included, direct beach access across the street, free parking, comfortable rooms, excellent location just down the road towards Poros, there are mushroom rocks in the water good for snorkeling.

No elevator fro rooms ( only 2 flights)

Wonderful location

Everything it was a lovely hotel. The pool. The greek yoghurt at breakfast. The clean towels when you needed them. The staff. The location to the beach so close. The room.

The fresh fruit at breakfast could have been better. It was lacking some days.

Our balcony got too hot to sit on as it had no shade. No tea, coffee, milk provided in room (although a coffee maker/kettle were).

You cannot beat the location and convenience of the hotel, as it’s just far enough away from Skala town and close enough to all supermarkets, lovely beaches.

The breakfast was a bit basic, but you can easily have your fill and everything was tasty and fresh.

great spot for beach and choice of restaurants marred only by rowdy local kids using the pool

great location near the beach and only a short walk to shops and restaurants

local kids were using the hotel pool. started off with just a couple until it got out of hand with 8-10 of them taking over the pool. we complained to the manager and after some discussion, the kids were told to leave.

just as it looks, a perfectly comfortable stay work everything you need.

the staff were so helpful and friendly the moment we walked in, it has everything you need, super comfortable. it’s the perfect location and looks exactly as it does in the photos. The best part is their private beach right outside the hotel with the most comfy loungers where you can order drinks and food to your bed.

there were 3 of us staying in a room and we only had two sets of towels when we arrived, that is the only small fault we had.

room was very plain, not like the pictures at all. Wi-Fi internet connection was poor. as residents, thought it was poor to have also pay for beach sun beds.

Couldn’t recommend it more!

Modern decor, lovely balcony with a sea view! Great pool area with plenty of sun beds and cabanas. Brilliant selection of food & drink on the menu & for breakfast. Fantastic location, minutes walk to the beach, taxi rank, bars & restaurants and a supermarket. Couldn’t rate it more highly, we loved our stay!

Beachside Stay Not To Be Beaten

Our stay at Makis was great - the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms spacious and the location, just across the road from the beach, was wonderful. Just a short walk into town and close to other beachside cafes.

The only feedback would be that not every room had coffee facilities but we could get one from the pool bar so didn't find this a problem.

Nice place at the beach and close to the city center

The hotel is located right next to the beach and very close to the center of Skala with various restaurants, cafés and shops. Rooms and pool were always clean and well prepared. Staff was very supportive and polite at all times.

Sunbeds at the beach cost extra, even for hotel guests - consequently we stayed at the pool area and just went for a swim in the sea most of the times. Internet connection is very poor in rooms but good in pool area. Airport transfer is only possible by taxi, which is with 60€ very expensive. Alarm light in room above the door shines very bright - we needed to cover it. Breakfast is very basic and does not offer any variety.

it was a good stay hotel .

hotel was just right to a beach. it was very close to the restaurants, market coffee shops.clean room.very helpful staff. if you like there is good size of swimming pool.

Umbrellas by the beach little bit to expensive. it should have been free for the hotel users. I also asked double bed room before arrival but hotel said they didn't get my messages and we end up in twin bed however hotel staff zip the beds and it was comfy after that. breakfast was average. not much choice.

A perfect beach holiday in Greek paradise

The hotel was fabulous, so close to the beach and the staff were wonderful! We are already looking to return next year for a second trip! Skala offers the best of everything and some of the restaurants were also exceptional.
