About this house rental

This spacious, well-appointed 4 bedroom, 4 bath house is ready and waiting for your group of 12 or less.

Whether you're looking for a short getaway, a full- blown vacation or somewhere you can work-learn and play, this is the house for you!

High speed 5g wireless internet, a quiet space with a large desk and chair and learning space at the kitchen island or large table make it all possible.

When it's time to play, there's a canal and private dock just steps out the back door. You can enjoy a swim or a place to dock your boat or one of the two kayaks, included with this property. It's a very short boat ride to the Intracoastal Waterway. The handicap beach access is an easy and short 5 minute (or less) walk away. (use our large beach wagon to haul your beach essentials or any of the umbrellas or chairs we provide.)

The open floor plan main living area Includes a large dining table, breakfast bar, wet bar, and fully equipped kitchen (remodelled in early 2023). A gas fireplace is wonderful for cool mornings and winter evenings. There is an assortment of board games and jigsaw puzzles to enjoy.

If you are in need of some “chill time”, take advantage of the outdoor spaces including an upper deck (with retractable awning). It’s a great place to lounge in the sun, read a good book, nap or sip coffee or cocktails. And the beautiful view makes it a good spot to work from, as well - if you must! Yoga enthusiasts tell us it's the perfect spot to start the day while enjoying the sound of our deep toned wind chimes and the gurgling water feature on ground floor.

On the ground level you’ll enjoy a porch swing, covered seating, a tiki bar with swinging hammock chairs and a small pond and water feature. Organize a cornhole tournament (we have 2 sets) if competition is your thing. For mealtime, a charcoal grill is available. A fourth bathroom located on ground floor makes a great place to shower after a swim or a trip to beach.

.And if you still need more to keep everyone busy, enjoy some ping pong, air hockey or foosball in the garage! (perfect for rainy day entertainment!)

There's an elevator that's handy for folks with mobility challenges, families with small children or hauling in luggage or a week's worth of groceries!! Our elevator is professionally serviced and safety-inspected regularly.

Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house. There were so many amenities that the host made available for the guests. We didn’t have to bring chairs or umbrellas for the beach. Overall a very pleasant experience.

We loved our stay at the glass menagerie! It was very spacious and clean. Kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware and cookware. Ed’s were comfortable. Elevator was extremely helpful for my parents who have a hard time going up and down stairs. They also loved sitting out on the pouch everyday. There are a lot of extra touches and host was extremely prompt and friendly.

We cannot say enough, good things about the beach house. It was very well decorated And very clean. Very well stocked with extra things. They thought of everything for your stay. We have a grandson 2 and 5 years old. They loved catching crab and fishing in the crab pot and the throw net. They had games, beach chairs and beach umbrella,etc. ‘My family truly enjoyed the week at OIB!

Place was excellent! Enjoyed our stay! Spacious and we would return. Loved sitting out on intercoastal. Walking distance to Ocean. These hosts are the best! Go above and beyond for their guests. Made us feel so welcome. And it’s crazy how much they have in the house, no detail too small or overlooked. If we come back to the area, I would only stay at this specific location with these hosts!

Lovely indoor and outdoor spaces to relax, read and socialize. Teens loved having foosball, ping pong, corn hole and air hockey available to play when not on beach. Enjoyed canal access and beach access is nearby. Kitchen is one of the best equipped kitchens for folks who like to cook. Would definitely rent again.

Great location on a canal and close to two beach access options. House was impeccable, great amenities, well maintained and very clean. We had three generations on our trip and everyone enjoyed our stay for a variety of reasons. Elevator access was wonderful for those with mobility issues. Excellent dock and the fountain was soothing to listen to from the rocking chairs on the porch. Excellent communication by the host as well. Great trip!

This was a great house and a fun location to stay on the canal! House was very clean and the large living area was convenient. OIB is a great place to go- especially with kids! There is a park and green area which makes it nice for days where the beach isn’t the best option. Highly recommend this house and beach!

If you want to enjoy your vacation to Ocean Isle then you need to stay at The Glass Menagerie! The home is clean, neat, and spacious with several outdoor seating areas to take in the beautiful canal view. The owner has made sure that everything is taken care of before you arrive. We stayed the 4th of July week and our home was already decorated for the holiday upon arrival. The attention to detail is evident the minute you step in the home. There are notes detailing how to operate everything in the home as well as important details...trash pick up, etc. The trip to the beach is a short walk and especially helpful if bringing a cart or stroller as the beach entrance is handicapped accessible. It was such a beautiful place. Our family had the best time. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and we cooked a lot. We could not have asked for it to be any cleaner ! Our grandsons had a blast with all the extras. Our daughter in law took them all on the kayak in the canal. Can’t say enough about this home. Rhonda is an awesome hostess. The property manager was excellent to work with and communicated promptly regarding any questions. The Glass Menagerie is a dream home in a dream location. This was our second stay there. It’s perfect for boating and fishing, and the beach is a short (1 1/2 blocks) walk away. All of OIB is beautiful, but this house is special. The owner has thought of everything, and continues to be available for questions/feedback. We couldn’t love it more.

Pictures alone do not do this amazing house and the owners justice! It's beautifully decorated Beach Theme is tastefully arranged throughout the house. There is more than enough of everything in the house and whatever you might have left behind, she has it already there, just in case. Plenty of fun things also without leaving the house. And immaculately clean! And how could I forget the elevator for those of us physically challenged! 😲😁 Rent this house without second guessing yourself - only not when I'm ready to come again! 😂

Property was nicely located on the canal and easy stroll to the beach. Elevator made move-in a breeze. The house was nicely furnished and immaculate. Kitchen was well stocked— not only with an extensive array of cookware and utensils, but with a broad array of spices and condiments. Beds were very comfortable and our host was a pleasure. Communication could not have been better. No need to hesitate, even for a moment, staying there. Just don’t do it when it might interfere with our next visit. 🙂

We truly appreciated the ease of renting with Ronda and the ease of working with her ! We were originally scheduled to be at OIB the weekend that hurricane Ian decided to arrive! We had the most amazing family trip at this property! Everything was so clean and perfect in every way. It was exactly as described and there was plenty of room for everyone. The views of the canal were so relaxing. We had fun with the kayak and stand up paddle board we brought with us on the trip as well. Kids had a blast hanging out in the canal and playing ping pong, corn hole, etc. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful home with plenty of space for our continuously growing family…. great view, well stocked with anything needed for preparing meals , lots of games for the whole family to enjoy and the elevator was a lifesaver for getting our belongings in and out .. would highly recommend.
