Welcome to Lazy J Ranch, minutes from downtown, desirable Waimea/Kamuela, fully renovated, furnished with all the creature comforts and for a Big Island getaway like none other. Private home is located on our 5 acre family ranch where we have 2 of the most spoiled cows in all of Waimea as well as hair sheep, Saanen/Boer goats, chickens, ducks and one old barn cat, Thumper. No need to worry, no roosters on premises. Ohana is equipped with separate WiFi, designated parking, private laundry, full sized and fully equipped kitchen, propane grill and gorgeous views of Mauna Kea. 15 minutes from beaches and Farmer's Markets to be found within a short drive almost every day of the week. No smoking or vaping on property, no pets. Weekly housekeeping available at additional cost. Grocery shopping, private chef, massage and holiday arrangements can be made at additional cost with select professional vendors. If there is anything you need, let us know and we will do our best to suit your needs. Due to the safety of our guests, animals and property, no outside guests allowed on property. Our ranch is located on a private road and private property. Please be advised if visiting friends or family.

This immaculately clean and thoughtfully decorated home is perfectly situated a few minutes outside of Waimea town. It is so convenient and comfy, a true home-away-from-home. It's also well-stocked with essentials, so we didn't need to buy anything but our food. And the friendly, unobtrusive yet easily accessible hosts are just wonderful! We highly recommend staying here!

Time at the Lazy J was lovely. Peaceful, serene, wonderful views of Mauna Kea at times. Great location, hosts nearby and helpful. Accomodations were very comfortable, kitchen well equipped, laundry facilities a plus. Nearby grazing herd of sheep a real "relaxer". All in all a very pleasant stay in a very lovely area.

The property was perfectly situated in a picturesque setting just a few minutes outside of town. It was immaculately clean and well furnished. The very friendly hosts even provided complimentary snacks & local coffee. We fell asleep to the pleasant sounds of nature and awoke to dappled sunrises through the trees and the meadow beyond. We highly recommend this property!!!

Paris and John were excellent hosts for our six day stay at their Ohana. They offered many suggestions of things to do while visiting the island. Enjoyed being in the green and cool part of the island during the middle of summer. Fabulous food options in Waimea from the local Farmer’s Market to the original Merriman’s location. Easy to get to beaches as well as Volcano National Park. Loved observing the farm animals too. We would definitely book this clean and friendly lodging again.

The Ohana house was spacious, clean, comfortable, warm on those chilly nights, and well stocked with everything g we needed. I loved seeing the animals everyday and feeding the cow bananas. Very close to town.

Nice cozy and private place to stay. Well maintained home and property. Cool temperatures for sleeping. Thoughtful extras like throw blankets, area rugs, and beach gear. Short drive to town for groceries and less than 30 minutes to some of the best beaches on the Big Island.

This spot in Waimea is a gem! The hosts, the Ohana, the animals, the location - everything was exactly as we had hoped it would be - and more! Paris and LJ were so communicative and helpful; the Ohana itself was immaculately clean and stocked with everything you might need. And do NOT miss touring the farm with Paris and LJ - we got to meet and feed most of the animals. It is truly a fantastic spot on the island. Thank you for an amazing stay and we will be back!

Thank you for being stellar hosts, and providing so much of your time and wisdom, and humour, to ensure our third trip to the Big Island was amazing!! We absolutely loved spending time getting to know Milly and Brit, and the sheep, and Jaeger and Jamieson!!! We are sad to leave, and know that when we come back again, staying here will be like coming home ❤❤

We enjoyed our stay at Lazy J. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Paris and John gave us a tour of the animals on their small farm, and it was obvious the animals were loved and well kept. We enjoyed talking with Paris and John about their interesting careers and life experiences and, especially, what brought them to Hawaii. It was great to hear about local places and events from people who actually live and work in the Waimea area and who love the area and find fun in life’s small pleasures! They were also immediately responsive about any questions we had about our guest house.

We loved our time at Paris and John’s cottage! My wife and I came to the big island to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We rented a car and wanted to find a good home base for our adventures around the island. Paris and John were so helpful during our stay and really made us feel at home! We would definitely stay again and encourage anyone else, who is looking for a safe, quiet, and great location, to consider staying here 😊

Memorable stay!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Lazy J. John and Paris greeted us warmly—as did their four-legged friends—and gave us some dining and hiking tips. They even led us on a short tour of the farm and introduced us to some of their animals. The guest house itself is nicely appointed and has a well stocked kitchen. We highly recommend staying here!

Lovely clean accommodation with everything we needed. We used the beach chairs every day. Roku TV was interesting way to get our news and entertainment. John and Paris were very helpful. They provided a barbecue that we used each week of our stay. We enjoyed the farm animals, especially the goats.

The property locates in the center of the island and it takes less than an hour to go to all the popular beaches and fun places. Paris and LJ are amazing people. They know the island well and they give great advice on where to go and eat. The rooms are very clean. The property is new and it has everything you need. I would definitely stay here next time when visiting the Big Island!

The unit is on a nice little farm and was clean and well supplied. There was some nice little treats for awaiting you that were perfect for a continental breakfast. My wife and I were only here for a couple nights, and it met our needs just perfectly. Paris was very nice and helpful with any info we needed regarding the island.

My wife and I stayed here recently and thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The Ohana itself has very well done; modern, extremely clean and just plain fun to stay at! It was a blast seeing the farm animals, getting greeted by a couple chickens, and being in a truly peaceful place. I would highly recommend everyone consider staying here.
