I liked the interior and to have all rooms on the groundfloor. WiFi was working perfectly. Parking so close was very convinient. At the beach in 2 Minutes. Christine called on the arrival evening to check if everything was okay. That was very nice. I very much appriciated the little hamper. Thank you. I found everything just as described wien I made the booking.

Templars Cottage is a very comfortable little seaside retreat for two people and a dog, being only a minutes walk from a splendid beach. There is a convenience store just around the corner, and Berwick is within easy reach. Most guests will arrive by car - as we did - but I noticed that there are quite good bus services from Spittal which will take you to Berwick station and supermarkets, also along the Coast and into the countryside. There are many attractive and interesting places to visit - both sides of the Border - and Templars Cottage is a good base for exploration of them.
Tip for Scots ... try the scenic drive from Gifford over the Lammermuirs and down through Cranshaws ... views from the highest points are impressive.

Another comfortable stay in this beautiful location. So convenient for everything we need - especially the beach and sea (as well as a super Village Shop which sells excellent pies too).
It’s a real treat to be able to stay here. Many thanks.

Loved the cottage. Some small concerns though 1) no makings on the oven dials as the were worn down which meant that we burned some things. 2) website stated that there was a tv in the bedroom and this was not the case. 3) tv in lounge was not preset to channels which meant a lot of search. 4) toilet roll was of ver poor quality. Would have saved in the long run with a quality brand.
Although I have made these remarks it would not discourage us on returning to one of the properties on your books.
Thanks you very much.

A well appointed cottage providing everything needed for a short break in the Borders. Recommended +

Although situated in an old attractive church type annex building the cottage was modern and well appointed. All mod cons were on hand and it was a comfortable place to chill out for the week.
The small yard cum garden at the back of the building wasn’t very attractive and the furniture was in need of cleaning/refurbishment, however we didn’t rent the cottage for that feature.

Perfect Location
Had a very relaxing weeks stay at Templars Cottage. Perfectly located for walks on the beautiful beach. Berwick is located either 5 minute drive or a 20 minute stroll away. Would definitely highly recommend the apartment and we are looking forward to staying again in the future.

Nice accommodation, interesting location, wonderful surroundings
Very nicely presented apartment. When it so happened that there was a mechanical problem the owners were quick to help. Spittal is an intriguing outlier of Berwick with a convenience store and an old fashioned promenade, and some artisan-type side street offerings some days. Town amenities are not far away and the speciality Berwick Shellfish Company is just down the road at Tweedmouth. Berwick upon Tweed is full of delights. For me Old Templars Cottage was a gateway to the superb coastal path in both directions. Being able to get to Berwick by train is a bonus. At Templars, fresh eggs, proper marmalade, some porridge with instructions (don't know if this welcome-array varies from time to time) illustrate the tastefully individualistic style of the owners John and Christine, as does their recommendation of the pies at the Spittal store.

Excellent location for exploring the area
The place was absolutely amazing, lovely and clean and nicely laid out. Fully equipped kitchen, I cooked a roast chicken on our first night there. There is a lovely produce basket left which included some mini eggs as we were there for the Easter week and porridge, eggs marmalade which was absolutely delicious and some local ale. One highlight of our stay was being able to watch Netflix and amazon prime and not be restricted to just a few channels on terrestrial TV. Being able to walk to the beach first thing in the morning was really lovely, on the Wednesday we went and had a quick look before we went out for the day and we saw a pod of dolphins leaping about out at sea.

Short stay in Spittal, Northumberland
Once again a great few days away at the Templars cottage, the accommodation was spotlessly clean, fabulous welcome basket of eggs, jam, biscuits, and a bottle of fine ale, great location, only 50m from the beach and short car journeys to Kelso, Alnwick and Bamburgh Castle (30mins)
Check out their other cottages, you will not be disappointed, we definitely recommend

Brilliant Cottage..Brilliant location
Having stayed in Spittal several times before,in a Cottage at the other side of the Templars Hall conversion,so knew what to expect from the village. The cottage was brilliant, with the welcome pack a great gift for ourselves and the dogs. The shower was spectacular, almost worth the trip alone.
The experience could be improved, with the addition of door to the rear courtyard and the hall on arrival was littered with bagged bed linen and quilts, together with a large box full of dog treats and toys, but didn't leave much room in the small hall.
However, the above did not detract from the pleasure of staying in the cottage, the bed was very comfortable and would stay again.
