About this house rental
Our 5 bedroom/3 bathroom home is the perfect base for exploring all Durango has to offer. The home features tons of amazing deck space with unmatched views of the Animas Valley along with a brand new hot tub (May 2024). The home is just 11 miles (15 minutes) from Historic Downtown Durango and 15 miles (18 minutes to Purgatory Ski Resort).
Our home features classic lodge-style architecture with vaulted ceilings, a custom rock fireplace in the main living space, and high-end finishes and furnishing throughout along with central AC, washer/dryer and WIFI.

5th - Double and 2 Twins and TV (2nd Floor) - Note access is thru the 3rd bedroom
Note there is no access to the garage and the home is not pet friendly so please do not bring your pets.
The road is paved to the home but depending on weather conditions 4WD/AWD may be required Dec-Mar.
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. We enjoyed our stay at the property overall. The views are amazing, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the property was clean. The property management were communicative during our stay.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have water for 3 days from the hours of 8:30-12:30 on two days and the last day 8am-2pm. Property management sent someone to the house after we inquired about the water. He told us the water got turned off due to a remodel being done in the neighborhood. It turned out to be a city upgrade issue so it was confusing there wasn’t a heads up. We weren’t able to shower, use the bathroom etc and had a full house. I know it isn’t the property to blame but the transparency of the issue seemed off and paying full price for a place we couldn’t use for a total of 14 hours was frustrating.
The other comment is the listing states central air but the two bedrooms plus large closet (listed as a bedroom) upstairs do not have vents for air. The screen was missing on one of the windows so it was rather hot for the guests staying upstairs in one of the bedrooms. They do have ceiling and box fans which helps. The downstairs “bedroom” doesn’t have a closet in it nor a place for the guests to store their clothes within the room. The listing should be more accurately listed as a 3 bedroom with additional sleeping areas.

We traveled with 2 families and my parents. Kids ranging in age from 9 months to 15. We had plenty of space for everyone. The deck is amazing and proximity to Durango activites would be hard to beat! 1 bedroom lacks space for clothes storage and the upstairs gets warm in the summer, but we managed. Other than that, no complaints and amazing house!!

My husband and I stayed here with our four adult children, son-in-law, 11 month old granddaughter, and my mother. We all had plenty of room and were very comfortable. The description says the second downstairs bathroom is a half bath, but to our pleasant surprise it is actually a full bath. It is a tiny bathroom, but it does have a shower. The hot tub was not working while we were there, which we were highly disappointed about, but the management did everything they could to make it right and responded to any text very quickly. The house is in the perfect location for a true mountain getaway but still close to anything you want to do. We spent a day in Purgatory and a day in Mesa Verde and everything in between the two. The Durango Silverton train coming by several times a day was a true highlight. Even the baby started crawling toward the door when she heard the whistle. We cooked breakfast and dinner every day and had everything we needed. The only negative thing I would say is the upstairs is very hot leaving the little bonus room/closet unusable. Everything else was perfect and I would definitely stay again!

Great house! Amazing Views! The only issue is there needs to be blackout curtains added to each bedroom. We woke up at 5:30am every morning because the master triangle window doesn't have a shade.

We had a family vacation with our adult children and spouses. The home was beautiful and clean with everything we needed. The drive from the house to Durango and most of our summer activities was about 20-25 minutes. The drive to Purgatory Resort was only 5 minutes.

The house and property has amazing views! Overall we were satisfied with the stay!
The only reason I am giving 4 stars is due to the crazy amount of dog hair inside the house! It was all over our clothes and ski gear when we left the house each day. One person in our party was allergic to dogs, so that was a quite frustrating. The property details state: "the home is not pet friendly so please do not bring your pets." So you would assume from that statement you would not be dealing with significant amounts of dog hair. Additionally, the cleaning crew was still in the house finishing up at 4:30pm when we checked in (check in was 4pm). Which was also a bit frustrating.
We had high expectations for how much we spent on the house during the week, overall cleanliness and timely check in should never be an issue.
Otherwise the property was really solid!

My family (ages 64-2) rented this home for a week long vacation and we were all more than satisfied. The views are amazing, home was clean, essentials (plus some) were provided, and hot tub was hot upon arrival. Communication was top notch and the management team was very accommodating. The location is perfect as it’s not in town but not too far out of town. You’ll get the watch the train go by most mornings/evening too! We will definitely be back!

The hands down crowd favorite was the hot tub on the back deck overlooking the mountains, absolutely stunning views.

This home was very relaxing and comfortable with beautiful views. The location was perfect and the train to Silverton was exciting for us in the mornings and evenings as they passed by down the hill. We stayed in the hot tub longer than we ever have, just because of the views/quietness and coolness of evenings. Highly recommend this place for relaxation and yet close enough to town for excitement.

We enjoyed staying here for two reasons, it’s about 10 mins north of town and the views from the back porch are amazing. The roadway noise is present but it didn’t bother us.

We booked this for the view and were blown away by the actual home itself. Close to Durango (the historic train comes within 30’ of the property!), very well appointed, lots of extra touches and space for everyone in our group. The rental computer was easy to work with and gave us personalized attention. Again… the views alone are spectacular and the home is homey and has everything you need.

Very pleased with our stay in this beautiful property. Tremendous views...spent a good deal of time just enjoying the deck and the hot tub. The house is well equipped and was very clean. Our master bed was very comfortable. Lots of beach towels provided for spa, which had been freshly served and very clean. About ten minutes to downtown Durango, so location was excellent as far as we were concerned. We've been going to Durango each summer for the last few years and this VRBO will be our new first choice. Communication with management company is very efficient and responsive. Highly recommend

Beautiful home in a gorgeous location. Totally private with an expansive deck, hot tub, and lovely views. The Durango Sliverton Rail Road (steam train) passes right below the property and it was fun to listen for the horn and watch the train pass by. We "chased" the train in the surrounding area and got lots of fun photos.
The woodburning fireplace is another plus. We loved relaxing in front of the fire in the evening, especially in the perfect reading nook that has a very comfortable chair.
Master bath could use some updating, but everything else was perfect!

Gorgeous cabin with incredible views…and owners have thought of everything you could possibly desire! It’s absolutely perfect. Loved seeing the train pass…so fun. Sunrises over the mountain ranges unbelievable and evenings in the hot tub were so relaxing. The location is fabulous as well. Great fall vacay!! We will be back!

We celebrated my brother's 50th birthday during our stay! The house was ideal for us...4 adults and 3 kids ages 12-16. We had an amazing time! As you have seen from other reviews, the views are spectacular! The pictures in the listing are a fraction of what you experience. Evenings in the hot tub was fun! The house was very clean and well stocked. The property manager was easily accessible and helpful. Check in and out was easy. The location is ideal. It is about 10-15 min. to Durango and Purgatory Mountain. We loved the house so much, we cancelled one day of activities to just hang out. :) We loved the memories we made during our stay and would definitely rent this property again.
Just a couple of things we noticed.
The first time we used the hot tub, the chlorine was overwhelming and burned our eyes. Maybe take the covering off and let it run for awhile before getting in. We didn't have trouble after the first day.
There is no window coverings for one of the big windows in each of the upstairs bedrooms and the light comes in early, so be prepared for that. If you are in the house during the summer, there is air conditioning, however it does get warm upstairs. I appreciated the fans that were provided, and it did cool down the rooms, however, the fans are loud if you use them during the night.
The dishwasher had trouble dispensing the soap pods.

High marks all around. This is a beautiful house, at the end of a road with a fantastic view. Everything worked, everything was clean, instructions were clear. This house has everything you might need for a week's stay. Very comfortable for six people, plus a couple more if kids involved.
It's in a great location, 10 minutes back to Durango, 10 minutes closer to Silverton/Ouray and all that magic. Loved watching the Silverton/Durango train go by underneath the house. Love looking at the stars. Loved just sitting and having that view.

I found this listing and ended up falling in love with the property. It is a beautiful home with stunning views from the wrap around deck and the interior is amazing as well.
It's never fun to have to deal with car trouble on a trip, but this property made all the tress fade away as we enjoyed a longer than planned Spring break.
