It does get quite hot during the day especially since the AC doesn't turn on until the night. The location isn't quite in town but it's walkable

Clean, wifi worked well, well equipped kitchen, a pool on the rooftop, hot shower with strong pressure, each bed with curtains, a fan, sockets and comfortable mattress. En-suite bathroom in the female dorm. AC was on from 9pm to next morning. Free drinking water. Close to supermarkets and quite near ADO terminal. Friendly staff - especially the girl at the reception, she gave useful information to help me travel on a budget! One hour walk to the free beaches like Playa Las Palmas, better do it in early morning (don’t take the route that is via Tulum ruins, they will charge 58 pesos just to enter the area of the national park).

Only four lockers for six beds. Quite a few mosquitoes in the room, they usually stayed by the sink or in the bathroom.

one of the worst hostel for my 90 countries travel

Soooo dispointed! Bad location, far from bus station and center, WiFi not work well, light is broken in bath room. The door cannot closed, very unsafe. Only toilet paper but no other things affordable. I just stayed 2 nights but one night the staff just forgeted to turn on the air-condition. I have been to more than 90 countries that might be one of the worst hostel.

I only stayed for two nights but it was a nice stay

Staff was very friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean and beds comfy.

It was a bit weird that we weren't "allowed" to lock our room. I was sleeping at the girls dorm and the door made loud noises when we wanted to close it. For me it was okay, I still felt safe and had no problem with not locking it but still don't really understand the reason for it.

Cool place, I had a great time staying here. It is a quiet place, no loud music, and it is quiet all day. Beds are comfortable with curtains. Hot shower. Kitchen is spacious and very convenient to cook. Pool is amazing! Alex and everyone who works here is great.

I would like a bit more privacy in the bathrooms, the glass door is not the best.

Would stay again

Quiet accommodation, about 15 minutes walk to the ADO bus station, comfortable beds with curtains, hot water in shower, very friendly staff, great rooftop pool and small kitchen for the bare essentials, wifi there sometimes a bit weak, free drinking water, not so far from the Tulum ruins (I just walked)

Hotel is modern and clean, Herzain on reception was very happy and helpful with local knowledge Roof-top terrace has an extra Wifi stream, a big kitchen and fridge for self cooking with plenty patio of chairs for lounging, eating and sunbathing in front of the wide swimming pool which closes late. . AC and bunkbed fans worked well, Free cold water fountain in reception and an in-house morning cafè to buy a decent morning coffee made with a real Cappuccino machine! Close to supermarkets, restaurants and Tulum Tower. 25 March 2023

Bathroom in the room. comfy beds, each with privacy curtains, fan, light and usb charging point. Central location but super quiet. Free drinking water at reception. Nice staff and manager goes an extra mile for guests!

Recommendation!

Everything was great! Clean rooms and beds, nice kitchen for cooking, rooftop Alex is a really cool and very friendly guy! He was helpful for us and let us feel comfortable from the first minute on. After one bad night surprise in another hostel in Tulum this hostel was kind of a rescue for us.

Perfect place

Everything was perfect for me : Moonshine is a perfect place to chill out with a beautiful pool on the rooftop, a commun kitchen. The hotel is very clean, the staff is very kind and always helpful. Close to the restaurants, shops, supermarket, yoga classes (Om Collectivo) it is easy to go everywhere by walk or transportation. I booked originally for 4 days and I stayed 25 days

It’s a nice place but due to the missing additional blankets and the location of the kitchen I wouldn’t go back there

location, the room, the bed, the little terrace, swimming pool

when asked for additional blanket, they didn’t give me so I caught cold due to the a/c the kitchen is ok, but the fridge is a total chaos, no tickets on food, how long was there or who’s food is, it was a mess. One evening we didn’t have gas for cooking, which I didn’t find safe anyway, using and open gas outside on the terrace where is always windy. Also the kitchen is on the last floor, next to the pool, so every time I needed something, I had to walk three floors up and down.

I extend 3 nights more in this hostal. Comfy bed and cozy place to stay. I like the rooftop suitable for chill. Close to supermarket, street food stalls. Swimming pool is also clean

Good Price/Quality

Probably the quietest hostel in Tulum. The location is awesome, super close to Avenida Cobá (way to the beach) and right next to the main supermarkets as Aki and Chedraui. The roof swimming pool was also something else and the staff was really kind.

So far the swimming pool was not clean at all, the kitchen was not properly equipped and there was only one bathroom/shower in a 12-bed bunk room (beware of this). Another thing worth to mention is that you'll find yourself walking in dark streets on the near surroundings because of lack of electricity.
