About this house rental
Initially constructed in 1928, Tybee Trees is a classic Strand Cottage in the Tybee Island Strand Cottages Historic District, which is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. This home is an integral part of Tybee Island's coastal resort history. It certainly gives guests the feeling of being transported to a bygone era, when visitors traveled to Tybee by train to enjoy the ocean breezes.
The over 5,000 square foot cottage was renovated mid-century but still exudes a nostalgic feeling that transcends time inside and out. With plenty of room to spread out, this 7-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom home has many original architectural elements and fixtures that lend to the home's unique charm. The 5000 square foot home at one time was an inn and a venue that held weddings and reunions and hosted grand events in the tree-lined outdoor spaces.
There are three distinct living spaces upstairs and downstairs. Each unique living space is named for the beautiful trees on the expansive property:
Live Oak - Upstairs (main living level)
The main living level of this home is bright and open. It combines old and new with tons of natural light and a living area with ample seating and a large wall-mounted Smart TV amongst the details of tongue and groove paneling and mid-century built-in cabinetry. The fully equipped kitchen has access to the back steps leading to the backyard. The dining area seats up to 8, with dining for 4 in the great room. Off the dining room is the library, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment with a good book.

It boasts a large great room with a sleeper sofa and a large wall-mounted SmartTV, along with a pool table and original brick steps, and fireplace hearth. Just off the great room are a fully equipped kitchen and a dining table for 6.

The Tybee Trees property was authentic, classy, and extremely spacious! Its proximity to the beach and other Island amenities was outstanding! We would highly recommend it!

Great communication and wonderful accommodations. Convenient to everything on the island.

The location of the property was great. Also everything was very clean and secure. Beds extremely comfortable. Two suggestions were made: key pads on all external doors instead of having only one key for all doors and update bathrooms and kitchen. Everyone had a really good time.

We had 14 family members there from 70s to teens. Convenient location for beach, stores, restaurants and groceries. Ample space to spread out. Multiple food prep and dining areas. Plenty of bathrooms to accommodate large group.

Great location. House was great. Tybee Island was Awesome. Took a minute to figure layout of house but worked perfect for our group of 12. Lots of bathrooms and bedrooms. Communication with owners was good. Would definitely stay there again.

We all had a great time. We had a couple issues at the house but the management group was very helpful and had quick responses.

My family (brothers & sister) and I get together at least once a year. We decided to go somewhere new, out of state (Florida) and were greatly appreciative of the home in Tybee Island. Great location! Beautiful home!
However, we had a small hiccup that we were eventually able to deal with. The wifi/internet was very spotty. Unffortunately, the TVs throughout the property would lose connection often. There were no local stations available, so wifi/internet was all we had. So, between a game of corn-hole or a game of billiards we were able to bypass the down time.
Plenty of space throughout. I would definitely recommend to large families.

Vintage Home in Prime Location - Big Families Unite!
This is a "vintage home" that over the years was updated and added onto. As you look around at the neighborhood many of the changes are being done in a similar way to other properties (example, closing in the outdoor balcony/porch). The home isn't the newest updating and is very dated...but it is the most functional for big groups and no one in our group had any issues with the decor and layout!
For our large family group this was in their words "the best place we've stayed"! Upstairs boasts a large family room with couches, TV, and a small table which was great for our remote workers. There are 3 nice, comfortable bedrooms, two with full baths, one with a 1/2 bath. A full bath in the hallway helps for the group needs. Two of the rooms have direct access to the front porch to make easy work of arriving and departing.
Downstairs, an equally large great room with a pool table and room to spread out. There's a bedroom with two twins, that is a walkthrough to another room with a full bed an bath (and a door to go outside). There's a front and back door downstairs (ground level) which made easy way for coming and going without noise and interrupting our conversations in other areas.
WiFi service worked for everyone and wasn't an issue. The Kitchen is smaller and is like all other kitchens in older houses, extremely functional, but not a center for entertainment like in most of our homes today.
Overall what made it the best ever would be the ease of access to areas and the rooms. Several bedrooms have their own door to the outside and can be accessed without walking past another even better than a hotel setup.
Location, location, location! This couldn't be in a much better spot! Tacos, convenience store and seafood restaurant directly across the street! IGA a couple blocks down the road. Opposite way is easy walk to get to more restaurants, stores, bars, clubs, etc. Then the beach access is literally about 400 yards away! Easy clean access.
Overall, we truly enjoyed the stay and our Brady Bunch family is ready to come back soon!

Tybee Time
Great Location, walk to beach and bars/restaurants. Large yard for kids or dogs. Split level house, perfect for separate families or keep kids in one floor and adults on the other. Grill and patio great for enjoying the huge location.

Even better in person!
The photos don’t do this property justice! The house is old and looks like it was added on to at various times, it’s quirky for sure. But the property is amazing and the location to the beach can’t be beat. We would definitely stay again. There were kitchen supplies but not much. Bring your own (or be prepared to buy) foil, plastic wrap, dishwasher pellets, hand soap, counter cleaner, spices etc. Usually in rentals there’s leftover items from previous guests but not here. The beds were comfortable, noise levels were fine after 10pm. A great house to spread out if you have a big group.

Tybee house
Huge piece of property in a solid location. House was good; interesting layout (upstairs and downstairs are divided as I assume they could be rented out separately). Good for a large group, especially the yard. Overall, solid stay and good experience.
