This is our second year staying with Mike and Debby and they are by far the best hosts we’ve ever had. We have stayed at many properties in many areas but this is the most well kept, well stocked, clean, beautiful property. They have absolutely anything you could ever want or need. You are greeted with a handwritten thank you note (only property that has ever done this), a bakery treat and a snack bowl and bottled water. Their kitchen is well stocked with whatever you might need (basic spices beyond salt and pepper)! The beds are comfortable. The yard is INCREDIBLE. So many chairs to sit in and games for the kids to play. It is by the most comfortable and complete home. Their communication is above and beyond - so friendly and quick to respond. It really does feel like you’re staying at your family home. We look forward to many many more bookings with them in the future. They make a beautiful location even more special!

This was our first experience renting a vacation home and Casa de Kona - Casita was perfect in every way! We needed a quiet and comfortable getaway for my Mother, but also a home that was entertaining for our children and our adult nieces. The property is exactly as described, the location is excellent. The highlight of our stay was just simply relaxing on the patio, playing yard games, and enjoying meals in the outdoor covered space. Everything you could ask for was provided, the kitchen was organized and well stocked, variety of beach equipment, the comfy beds - and most importantly, the entire home was clean and inviting from the moment you walked in the door! The sweet memories we made there will last us a lifetime. We appreciate Mike and Debby; they are considerate and warm-hearted hosts who thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. We are looking forward to staying there again!

This was the most well stocked, equipped VRBO ever. The house, the outside, the toys, games, TVs, basket of food waiting for us and the chocolate cake, oooh the chocolate cake. Everything we needed or wanted was there. Absolutely wonderful

Within an hour of our arrival at Casa De Kona a wire on the deck railing came loose. We planned to let the owners know prior to our departure, however when we returned home from the beach the next day to find a handyman in the yard fixing the fence, it became clear that this was a pre-existing issue that the owners were already aware of. When the same wire broke again within the same afternoon it was clear that it had not been fixed properly, so we let it be for the remainder of our stay. After our departure, the owners attempted to blame this damage on our small children and sent us video clip after video clip of surveillance footage of our family in the backyard enjoying our vacation. What a huge violation of privacy! Not only did our children not engage with the fence in a way that should ever cause it to break, but we then received this text message from the owners, " "We appreciate you not booking with us again as we don't want children who aren't trained to not play with things that aren't toys." Beyond rude! This absolutely is not "family friendly" and I would not recommend to other families with young children to stay here as you will be judged and made to feel bad about your family and children while you are on vacation. Not one other bit of damage to the property was noted by the owners upon our departure-Nothing was lost, broken, or otherwise damaged during our stay, so to have been treated this way for what is clearly a pre-existing issue is beyond disappointing!

Casa de Kona was the perfect place to stay for our Legoland getaway. There was plenty of space for our family of five and the place was stocked with everything you could possibly need or want. Our 3 young kids loved the amazing backyard with lots of fun kids activities, games and a large lawn to run around. The outdoor kitchen, large covered patio with fire pit and outdoor dining area make it perfect for entertaining larger groups as well. The bunkbeds were also a hit. It was hard to pull the kids away to go to the theme park. Mike and Debby were wonderful hosts, and very proactive in making sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend Casa de Kona if visiting the surrounding area.

One of the most convenient and well stocked properties that we have stayed at! We stayed with our 4 children under age 10, plus 2 grandparents. The outdoor area was wonderful and well stocked with games and outdoor activities. My kids really enjoyed the shared grass area also. Inside, the kitchen was stocked with lots of essentials- even little Mayo packets and keureg cups. Lots of beach items in the garage too. The hosts were excellent at communicating and accommodating when we needed an early check in. The location was great- very central to SD and OC. We will stay again!

We stayed at the Casa de Kona at the end of June and it was a great experience! The host was very nice and the house was awesome and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The outdoor spaces were great for families there are tons of games for kids! There were hang out spots for adults and kids as well. We will definitely be looking for again in the future!

Visited Oceanside for a family wedding. Casa de Kona - Casita was perfect for 5 adults. The house is everything plus more as in pictures and description. The kitchen is well stocked with everything that you need for cooking and BBQ. Beds were very comfortable. The covered patio/deck with TV was a hit with us sport lovers. Mike and Debby were terrific hosts, great communication the whole time.. Will definitely be renting again when in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer :)

Terrific house in a great location!!
This well-kept house has wonderful space throughout and the beds are very comfortable. The location in Fire Mountain area gives you quick access to the beach/pier, shopping, restaurants, whatever. The kitchen is loaded with more handy appliances and cooking items than we have in our own home! My favorite is the outdoor living space - a covered patio/deck with a fire table, large TV, heater if needed, lots of dining space and an outdoor grill with sink. I sat outside there many mornings and evenings enjoying the nicely-landscaped backyard. We stayed a week but wish we could have stayed a month! You'll enjoy this super clean and comfy spot for sure!

This was our first vacation as a newly blended family and I must say the house definitely met and surpassed all of our expectations! Loved our stay here. Hosts were great and communicative, the amenities at the home were perfect for the area. Beds were comfortable, and the outdoor space was incredible.
Also a note in case there are others like us- this was serviceable for a work-from home situation (which my husband and I often look for and it is surprisingly hard to find). The wifi is perhaps a bit spotty at times so we may have had a harder time if we wanted to stay for 3 weeks. But, it worked well for our short stay and I would definitely come back with the same plan. We were both on Zoom calls simultaneously several times and nobody's completely failed. There were plenty of desk height chairs and surfaces that were comfortable. And, crucially, the ability to close doors so we didn't disturb the other's calls. If the weather had been nicer we would have even been able to take calls outside (the dream!).

We loved loved the layout and coziness of the house. The beds were amazing especially when we sleep on a waterbed We loved playing games under the covered patio. This was the perfect place for our group to stay at while we visited Legoland. The hosts Mike and Debby were very friendly and accommodating. The property was nicely remodeled and felt very new and clean. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. Plenty of extra pillows and bedding. TVs in every room and set up with Netflix and Hulu. We would love to stay here again for our next Carlsbad visit!

I have been disappointed with many VRBO’s and feeling that they are not worth it any longer and started to go back to good old hotels and resorts. This house was, in my opinion what every VRBO should be. It was a perfect combination of hotel meets house. It was so welcoming and cozy. This house had everything you could think of. The little details from beach towel, toys, games, traveling coffee mugs to Spotify on all TV’s really showed. I wished all VRBO’s were as perfect as this. I definitely will come back.

My family stayed in Oceanside for a few days of R & R and really enjoyed Casa de Kona. The house was extremely clean and had everything we could ever want. The owners were very helpful and communicative. Inside this beautifully decorated house was a well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds and clean and tidy bathrooms. The outdoor living area was cozy, comfortable and was stocked with a ton of activities. I highly recommend booking your next San Diego visit at Casa de Kona / South Oceanside. P.S. Fantastic Oceanside getaway!
We spent 3 nights at the Casa De Kona Casita over spring break. We were 8 people (adults, teens and a child). The property and home are maintained beautifully with serious attention to detail. Cupboards are stocked with every thing you could possibly need- spices, coffee, a waffle iron and mix!! The decor is beautiful and everything is clean. The outside is AMAZNG! We drank coffee out side every morning and had multiple meals on the deck. We barbecued and the kids played with all of the toys. Every board game or yard game you can think of is outside in the super fun great room. Debby was so kind and helpful. They even left us a fruit bowl and a goodie bag for the beach! The garage is fully stocked with anything you may need for the beach (umbrellas, toys and wagons). We had such a nice time, our only regret was not booking a longer trip! Thanks Mike and Debby.
