The small town of Harpswell in the Casco Bay region of Coastal Maine boasts narrow peninsulas and island chains that jut south in the Atlantic Ocean. Harpswell is comprised of areas known as Harpswell Neck, Cundy's Harbor, Great Island, Orr's Island, and Bailey Island.
Harpswell is located about 45 minutes north of Portland, Maine and is located on the eastern mid-coast section within the gulf of Maine. It is populated by approximately 5,000 Mainers. It's primarily home to blue collar residents who enjoy life on Maine's longest rocky coastline. Harpswell has been for years and continues to be a thriving lobstering town.
Lobsterman pull their traps within your view, and the Casco Bay Ferry's Bay Cruises allow you to gain the perspective of the land from the water. There are many opportunities for recreation, shopping, museums, and water-related activities.
A 15 minute ride to Brunswick will provide you the opportunity to shop at a variety of grocery stores, markets, boutiques, and antique shops. Brunswick is also home to a multitude of fantastic restaurants with a variety of cuisines. However, should you want to experience some of Maine's most famous eateries, Portland is a short drive away and is home to multiple James Beard award winners. Brewing is a booming scene in mid-coast Maine. You will find many fantastic breweries on the drive between Brunswick and Portland.
Brunswick, a small town located on both the ocean and the Androscoggin River is most notably home to Bowdoin College. General Chamberlain not only served in the Union Army, but was also the President of Bowdoin College and the Governor of Maine. His home of 50 years has been preserved by the Pejepscot History Center and is now operated as a museum open from Memorial Day weekend through October.

It was very comfortable sleeping and the views were amazing!! There is much to do around the area and our private beach to launch the Kayak. Having fresh Lobster off the boats was wonderful. The sunsets were very nice, we loved sitting on the porch at night with the ocean breeze. The cottage was clean and we had everything we needed. The communication from the owner was great. I would go again.

The property is beautiful. You have a view of the ocean from everywhere except the bedroom, and the water lapping and birds singing make it SOUND beautiful, as well! What a wonderful, peaceful cabin! It is small, but the design is perfect for a beach house! Everything works perfectly and it’s extremely comfortable. My favorite spot in the cabin was the back porch, where you can have coffee and read and watch the sunset—THAT was a painting, what amazing sunsets!
I can’t say in words how much I loved it there.
I can’t wait to go again next year!
Thank you, Ashley and Russ!

We had a great time. The cabin was cute and cozy, with a beautifu view. Loved watching the lobster boats leave and return. Best part was being walking distance to great food and buying lobsters fresh off the boats. Great place to stay !!

Mosquitoes were an issue when I first arrived - found many bites on my neck, arms, and legs after the first night … screened porch was not screened under bottom of floor and porch door had gap from floor on bottom … an improvement idea
No instructions for how to use tv system that I wasn’t used to … watched two dvds but struggled to find way to listen to daily news and Red Sox games … an improvement idea
Loved the location and proximity to Morse’s
Great shower and bathroom was pleasant surprise

The title says it all. To say this was a park like setting on a tidal cove is an understatement. The loudest thing in the neighborhood was the birds in the morning. The kitchen was one of the best stocked we've ever encountered. And my wife loved amenities in the bathroom. The porch was great, so was the grill. We explored the cove and walked over to get fresh lobster for dinner. The short drive to the other areas of Harpswell as well as Brunswick were not overlooked. Overall the hosts were great, check in was easy. We would for sure book again.

My husband, pup and I really enjoyed our stay in Harpswell. It was so peaceful being able to hear the sea from the cabin and we were able to work during the day and also take advantage of the many hikes in the area. Cabin was as expected and a sweet place to stay! Ashley was a great host, easy to reach and everything was well laid out in their welcome book.

We love this rustic cabin. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. If you’re looking for fancy it’s not for you. If you’re looking for comfortable with all the modern conveniences and a phenomenal view with beach access this is it! The screened in porch takes full advantage of the view allowing you to sit as long as you like bug free. Plenty of fresh seafood options close by.

Beautiful Spot
This is a very simple cabin in the style of classic old Maine camps. Location is amazing - at the end of a road right on a small cove on Casco Bay across the bay from Birch Island. Getting down to the water for swimming or kayaking is very easy, and the view from the cabin really beautiful. Easy walking distance to Alan's Seafood and Morse's food truck. We are already making plans to come back!

We will be back!
The pictures of this charming cottage do not do it justice. The setting is iconic Maine. The interior of the cottage "lives" larger than it's square footage because it's open and airy with windows all around. The screened porch is a huge plus and is the perfect spot to read, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. I was a little hesitant about the kitchen and bath because there were no pictures provided. While small, the kitchen is very functional and the bathroom provides lots of storage, a stall shower and private toilet area. The decor is tasteful, cozy and comfortable and very clean. Bottomline, we loved our stay and look forward to returning next year.

The most beautiful ocean property!
This beautiful camp was so much more than we expected! It’s decorated so nicely and comfortably. Every detail is covered and easy. The surrounding area is fun to explore and so quiet. We were able to bounce up to Freeport when it rained for some shopping. They provided a lovely guide to the area that was very helpful. We would absolutely stay here again.
