The house was in a perfect location with great space for our family of 10. I would like to suggest all light bulbs working, kitchen light fixtures cleaned and bathrooms cleaned.
Thanks!

Overall it was great.
Main problem was the heat, house was cold when we arrived. Took a bit to get the wall units downstairs going, and the one close to the front door did not stay on continuously. Basically all the controls in house say ‘Please do not turn on’. The fireplace upstairs in living room was nice but didn’t blow direct heat from it.
Overall we had plenty of room that we weren’t running over each other, and glad the house/unit was off by itself.

The layout and views were very nice, and it was reasonably priced. I knew from earlier reviews that the property had not been updated since the 70's but was not concerned about carpeting and decor, but I did not know: 1) the oven was out-of-order and apparently had been for months; 2) there was no water pressure at the kitchen sink, just a dribble; 3) the kitchen was stuffed with equipment and dishes or varying age and condition, but no order to it, dirty utensils had been left in drawers, the only knife I could find was a bread knife; 4) Master shower only sprayed cold water and master Jacuzzi cold water handle began spinning so the water could not be turned off, we finally removed the handle to get the water to turn off; 5) the multiple decks would have been especially nice, but cluttered with 3 outdoor cookers [and other things] , dirty utensils were left on one cooker, and there were wet rugs left outside on the lower deck; 6) two doors to the deck were stuck so could not get a cross breeze going or get access to lower deck from one of the bedrooms; we managed to work on them for a time and get them unstuck;
The oven was a major problem as I was cooking for a fairly large family group and had bought food that required being baked. I mostly received texts and responses that they had tuned in a "ticket" on the oven, when I did finally speak to the local contact she was in Durango; I spoke to a gentleman who did maintenance locally but he was not able to do anything about the oven. This could really be a nice property; and it was a very good set up for our family, with 8 adults and 4 children. It definitely needs some care and a thorough cleaning in which much stuff is tossed. I would not stay there again unless I knew that repairs had been made. We are not overly demanding, and can pretty much go with the flow and laugh at the shaggiest carpet and heavy unworkable drapes, and we managed to use an oven in a home that was being rented by my brother for the dishes I brought to bake, and use other showers in the house. But really, some care is in order.

Loved it!
From the rustic atmosphere to having all the little things a home should have and need. Felt like a home away from home.

This was the third year and third different location in Angelfire that we have rented. It had adequate space for all 6 of us to spread out and have our own beds.

This place was absolutely filthy and looked like it hadn't been tended to in months.
The beds had mouse droppings on them and blood spots on the side of matress. The comforter on the bed had an unknown crusty stain on it. The oven had the front face torn off and left on the floor with wires hanging out. It was absolutely freezing downstairs and all thermostats said "do not touch", kitchen countertops were gross and dirty. The garage door was cracked and there were huge piles if miscellaneous items thrown in the middle of the floor accompanied with a trash can that looked bloody. Not sure what took place there with all the blood mess, but we couldn't get out of there fast enough. LOTS of spider webs and eggs throughout the house. We have pictures of all and will be submitting to upper management.

Big but just ok
Door locked with key inside when we arrived - the maintenance team said it wasn’t on their calendar that the house was booked for today. Waited in hold with Vacasa for 20 minutes to get the code for the 2nd lock box only to find there was no key inside. The maintanence crew had to come back and let us in, giving us their spare keys.
Front Door very difficult to unlock - you have to push in a button on the front door or you’ll be locked out, even with the key.
Oven broken - waited on hold over 30 minutes with Vacasa only to be told someone from the local office would contact us tomorrow morning after 9 am. The next day we were told the oven was inoperable - but this was not stated on the listing and we brought food to cook in the oven.
No paper towels at all
Food Trash under the upstairs bed
No heat in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom except a tiny space heater - you have to choose to keep it in the bedroom or bathroom, it won’t warm both.
No lightbulb in upstairs bathroom light - toilet is in the dark
Jack and Jill bathroom downstairs needs light bulbs - it’s dark
Coffee pot - glass was cracked so it leaked. Could not use.
No thermostats are operable, must use gas heaters in the downstairs hallway.
The space was large but was very overpriced for the amount of inconvenience it caused.

A wonderful wrinkle in time
The pinnacle of luxury circa 1985. This property was a fantastic getaway for me, my fiance, and a few of our friends. Although stepping inside is like stepping into a time machine, the property is as advertised and the location can't be beat.
The unit is a freestanding "house" that has a great driveway and a garage for your bikes. Although some may say carpeted flooring throughout the entire house including bathrooms and kitchens isn't practical - those people are wrong.
The Wifi works great and we had at least 6 devices using it at once with no issues. The oven is not currently working but it appears that they updated the fridge and oven and they just need to get it set up. The stove worked fine and the kitchen is otherwise well equipped.
The bottom line here is that this is Angel Fire. Thing aren't updated and some things are a little weird. If you want to get away, ride bikes or ski/snowboard, and you aren't overly picky, this place's charm will win you over before you leave.

Location was wonderful.
Location was great but there was some issues with the property. It took us and the housekeeper 45 minutes to get in and ended up having to use the spare keys to get in a side door on the porch. Front door never locked correctly. The carpet in the master bathroom and by the wet bar (that we never used) was always wet or damp. Location and view was wonderful.

Nice but a few issues
We loved the location of this home. However, it was very dusty and the oven didn’t work.

Not what I hoped
I could not say I loved the clean sheets, because they were not clean. Nor were the toilets. I can't say I loved cooking home-cooked meals or baking the birthday cake for our celebration, as the oven was not connected, unbeknownst to us, it had been removed as an amenity after we paid for our trip. I loved the spaciousness of the house and the opportunity for my family to get together for the first time in over a year due to the pandemic. The potential is there - the home could be great, most likely has been for others - but not our trip.

Great views but beware
It had great views and was centrally located.

Stay in Angel Fire
We checked in and that process was relatively easy. House was nice and clean. Lots of room. The beds are very hard, they need padding for them. Here is my biggest issue: the oven, which is pictured, did not work. I was never told it did not work. They did not list the oven, so this was their way of telling me it didn’t work. Omitting something is not the same as telling someone that it doesn’t work. I would not recommend this place because I feel they are dishonest.

Maybe worth it if your price is cheap
This house is big and has nice views all around. The sauna is a fun addition. Oven doesn't work. Beds are from last century as well as decor. Door to bathroom downstairs was off hinges. Cigarrette butts and spit on the porch, a dirty white kitchen carpet, a nail coming out of carpet, a deck with no guard rail. We still had a nice time and it was great that everyone fit, just don't pay too much money to reserve this place.

Nice but dusty
I did love the fact that the house had lots of games and the sauna was nice to have. The rooms are good size. Having 3 1/2 bathrooms was great. The house was just dusty and needs some TLC
