A beautiful, spacious home located in a tranquil Game Reserve located in the Limpopo Province.
Electricity was a challenge. We found ourselves enter the property whilst it was dark and outside of load shedding schedule. Woke up to no electricity on Saturday, also outside of load shedding electricity. Appreciate this is outside of the owners control - perhaps consideration can be given for a generator.

the jacuzzi, pool deck area. it was very lovely. spacious yard, Patricia the housekeeper was an absolute gem. Warm comfy home. Kids loved it. The bed was comfy I had such a good sleep. Boma area was nice too. Many rechargeable lights for loadshedding.
low water pressure in shower and it took long to get hot. No pizza spade for pizzeria, oven took long to get hot. No wood for boma. Fireplace wasn’t working, hope it works in June when I return.

Everything was perfect it is a great setup and very spacious for all my family we enjoyed it thoroughly and will definitely come back because everything was found at the property and we had great room service with Patricia
Load shedding was a mess- Stage 6 was 4 hours long so we lost out on alot of time due to that.
A Generator could have gone a long way in alleviating that pain but its not critical

An amazing house and facilities. There is a pizza oven we didn't realise was available which is a nice option for cooking.
Two of the air cons were not working. Air cons are essential for a stay at Zebula

The jacuzzi
The host asked me to Pay a BREAKAGE FEE DEPOSIT of R2000, which i was happy to pay before the stay started. During our stay 2 glasses broke which i was happy to pay for. During our stay we played some music celebrating a birthday, the music wasn’t excessive but it was a celebration nonetheless. Security guards approached us in a relaxed manner asking to turn it down a bit, which we did and they DIDNT GIVE A FINE. We then cleaned the house and washed dishes. The next morning the maids recorded videos of the kitchen just after me made breakfast for 10 people and sent it to the owner. Saying it was dirty etc and a mess. The maids left the door open and the monkeys made a mess.By the way, there is a camera in the lounge above the couches at the top of the roof watching your every move very creepy, I unplugged the wifi.
The host did not exchange towels for other ones and they smelt horrible on arrival. Bring your own towels. The mosquito nets didn’t smell any better.
After the stay, i asked her if she can pay back the deposit and deduct R200 for 2 glasses. She then replied and said no she won’t because we got a fine for +-R5000 I then told her that no we have a copy of the guard it’s not a fine just a friendly warning. Nonetheless she didn’t care.
I then phoned the head of security Jeno, and he said there is no fine certainly not R5000 and only after the 3rd visit a fine will be issued, he also said she’s taking chances.
I forwarded what he said and she came up with another story that, if it happens again with the next guests then she has to pay a fine. so she’s keeping the deposit. This is not my problem and the deposit was for a breakage fee after-all not a fine kitty bank.
She then said I must apologize that we left the house dirty and for the very loud noise, and that all 10 guest should pay R200 for the fine etc. This was totally up surd and unacceptable. She also then said that i am banned from zebula and I will never be allowed inside ever again.

location of the villa and the fact that the animals roamed in and around the houses.
needs maintenance

The house was spacious and beautiful, the bedrooms were comfortable but I have a reason to believe the host has cameras in the living area spying on the guests
The showers were dirty

The view all around the house is exceptional. The host is just always a text away when you need her. Really reassuring in times of need. One of the best places I've ever visited. I feel like I cheated coz I paid wat too little for what we got.
The power outages around Zebula. Nothing to do with the house, but the area was faulty during our stay, which really affected our stay a lot as we spent 12+ hours without stable power.. The host was there to give updates. Besides that, the house has nothing wrong for me to say about.

The place is absolutely stunning and an amazing experience from the minute we booked the accommodation until we left the venue. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be going back.

the location and space available was perfect for a group of 12.
I didn’t like the fact that the upstairs bedrooms didn’t have ceilings which limited the privacy of people sleeping in those bedrooms.

Beautiful house with more than enough space for 12 people. Spacious and comfortable. Upper deck with splash pool is beautiful and the jacuzzi is a bonus. Animals roaming and getting quite close to the house.
Not much not to like. Small things need a little attention. Dripping aircons and the settings of the oven have been rubbed off which made it difficult to get oven to desired temp.

Pauline the house keeper was the best

The communication from time of booking was very good. Directions provided were easy to follow, even if you've never been to Zebula it would be easy. The host was also careful to advise of all the entry criteria and conservation fees. Alot of tips on wood, sight seeing etc.
The house is as advertised.
The jacuzzi was sparkling clean and even smelled clean. This was a winner!
The pool deck overlooks a lovely plain where game roams through often. There is also a waterhole which the animals know well. We had lots of buck sightings from the patio or pool deck.
There is a pizza oven as well as braai area, both partially under cover. See my notes on not so good.
Patio furniture is really good quality with enough chairs and an extendable table. Loungers available but in shorter supply.
There is a fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Gas hob and electric oven too. A basic nespresso machine but it does the job. In addition there is a plunger and I appreciated there were some basic sugar and coffee amenities in the kitchen. Nice touch.
Each bedroom in the house has a full en suite bathroom and lots of cupboard space. The cottage has the additional 2 bedrooms but they share a bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchenette. All bedrooms had air con which functioned well. Bedding was cotton percale and definitely better than I expected.
The kitchen of the main home is equipped for almost everything. Emergency lights also available. Ample seating area inside for lazy conversations and a big dining table. In addition there is a bar area and a pool table area downstairs. I loved the book nooks upstairs and downstairs. There is a smart TV and you only need to login to Netflix, Prime etc if you wanna watch anything. The lighting in the home is well thought out as well.
Take 2 point plugs as the rooms don't have these available. Plenty in the lounge area.
The home is serviced daily.
There was a big storm passing over the area when we arrived and so we walked into some roof leaks. I notified the host as one of the leaks rendered a bedroom unusable. Not sure if this was fixed but she did call the repairers. Luckily we didn't need to use the bedroom.
Due to the storm the undercover patio and furniture was wet and unusable on night 1. It is unfortunately only a partial cover as the deck upstairs is wooden slats. Pity.
Also the braai grids were dirty as well as the countertop outside. Still had braai sauce from previous guests on it.
On arrival we noticed there were half rolls of toilet paper in 2 of the bathrooms and a guest toilet. Didn't think anything of it as I assumed it would get refilled the next day. I assumed wrong! We ran out on day 2 and when I requested a top up from the housekeeper she didn't have any. The host got notified and rectified the situation but this is a basic amenity.
The towels smelled damp. Like they were folded when still partially wet. I did bring our own and used these mostly.
There was black mould in the shower of our bedroom. It was not as bad in the other showers but still there. Mostly due to incorrect tile being used inside the shower and not being sealed properly.
There was no sanitiser anywhere in the home. The bottle at the door was empty. I brought our own but considering so many people go through these doors there should be some basics provided.
Cutlery, instead of in drawers, is in pouches hanging on the wall. There are lots of flies here which cannot be avoided. It's nature after all. However they sit on the cutlery, forcing us to wash these before we ate. Also, it is impossible not to touch other cutlery items when taking one out. Just a health risk overall and there is enough space in the kitchen to have a drawer dedicated.
There were not nearly enough glasses for 12 guests. Mostly wine glasses missing and no champagne glasses. So take your own if you like bubbles.
