our stay was not what we had imagined

The estate itself is beautiful. we were expecting to experience the same in the property we have booked

The property didnt have everything that was advertised with such as a pool, false advertisement from the property owner. it was not indicated at any point that it was a private property which deprived us many benefits enjoyed by Zebula guests such as accessing the pool and other facilities. The food served at the new year's eve party made all 6 of us sick.

DISASTROUS AND DISAPPOINTING

We paid an exorbitant amount of money for 2 nights stay. The 1st night was fine. The following morning the power and water were cut off with no indication of when it will return . No back up plan or assistance from the management. We spent the entire day with no shower, cooked meal, toilets that could not be flushed. We had booked a game drive at an exorbitant rate which was complete waste as the only animals on the property was buck, zebras and giraffes. At 7pm it was obvious the power and water was not returning so we checked out as we could not stay in the bush in complete darkness and no water. Our food was starting to go bad. I have requested a refund for the one night but nobody gets back to me despite numerous phone calls. Worst trip of my life and most embarrassing as i was entertaining family from overseas.

Birthday breakaway weekend

Location is perfect. Staff is very friendly. Good for couple retreat and family bonding. A home away from home. They have a dedicated cleaner and maintenance guys. Loadshedding is covered for 48 hours, so u don't have to worry about loadshedding. Very big and open. Very clean. Uncapped WiFi. All dstv channels. Amazing place. Water was hot all the time. All rooms had working air-conditioning. All rooms have ensuite bathroom and shower. Lots of activities for kids and adults. Private Jacuzzi available. Gas stove and gas braai incase there's no power. Pool table in the house.

Nothing much. The park have all animals except the big 5. Which is not a big issue for me.

Very disappointing especially with how this website portrays the property for rent.

The small add on chalet that we stayed in was nothing like any of the pictures on the website. The kitchen cupboards were falling off the hinges and the bathroom tap did not work. No effort was made to make the property look homely. The stack doors were unable to open. The BBQ facilities were shared with another unit rightnext to the chalet.

It was a waste of my money and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone,

i honestly didn’t like anything about the trip.

I was scammed. They took my money in the form of a “breakage deposit “ and have since ignored me after checkout after several attempts of contacting.

The facility was good

That booking.com did not mention that there will be additional charges that were not mentioned at the time of the booking,like the environmental levy at the main gate of R150 per vehicle and the breakage charge of R3000 which am still waiting for the refund, and it will take +- 7 working days to process, such an inconvenience. Imagine if I did not have the R3000 deposit, what would have happened to the booking? The private pool was not clean.

overall enjoyed our stay and relaxed, only issue we had was no provision made for lights

the staff is very friendly and welcoming, house was clean and a breath of fresh air.

the house we stayed in did not have provisions for lights when electricity left. And we we never notified to bring our own lights

don’t think I’ll be back. service from staff was average and golf course also in bad condition with bad pro shop service

location and the house was good, although the outside furniture was terrible

the facilities were shocking. putt putt, bike hire and tennis courts were virtually non operational, damaged and looked very bad. rubbish piled up in the putt putt area makes even lying by the pool an eye sore

Good and bad of Zebula Golf what what...

The private collection cottage...Otaro Giraffe one was all i needed. It made me feel rich. Everything was excellent, rooms, pool, set up and the lady who was helping with the cleaning was so good.

Hidden costs... We got there and were told that we must pay R3000 dep per cottage and had 3 cottages. That meant 9K unplanned. The worst... From the 2nd of Dec until now, depost is not paid back and had to lay a dispute via my bank to get my refund back.

The pool and the jacuzzi were super great and clean for everyone to get in The property looks modern and not rustic The cleaners do a very good job Basically everything is super great about the place

There's no back power plan during loadshedding and also water stops coming out that is the biggest fault about the property, it would be good if they invest in a generator

It was my friend’s birthday and I should have looked for a place in Joburg. I was really embarrassed

The chicken was good. The pizza was average but not too bad. The massage was good.

The food was stale. I ordered pork ribs and beef ribs they were smelling and old and stale and dry. The service from reception was poor. The WiFi was not working. The air conditioning was not working. The maintenance people took too long to come. There was no extra blanket. We used the two plate stove as a heater!!

Just Bad

The golf

Everything was a mess up, from booking.com sending 13 emails before checking in, to not receiving a gate code. To zebula not answering their phones security not assisting. The unit is a chalet and for 12 000 you'd expect much much more compared to mabalingwe. Took 2 days for wifi. No hot water pressure in kitchen or spare room. Hard with an 8 month baby. Zebula restaurants was also bad service. Won't be going back any time soon or using booking.com

location service at the Proshop

it took me 40 minuets to access the property because I didn’t have the access code; even though I had the booking confirmation. I called the receptionist on numerous occasions and they didn’t respond. receptionist provided two Wi-Fi passwords which were not working and he said it can only be rectified after calling the Jhb ICT guys the following day. there was load shedding and rooms did not have at least emergency lighting
