This was the perfect place for our family of four. small and cozy but enough room to be comfortable. The whole place was extremely clean. We pre-made and brought our dinners for the week and it was very easy to just pop them in the oven. We rented a boat for a few days and were able to keep it tied up to the dock which was really nice. The fire pit is beautiful and we enjoyed that, as well as the awesome front porch overlooking the river!

The cabin felt clean and is nicely decorated. Kitchen is good. Beds are comfortable. A couple of new cabins being built in the same community so there were construction vehicles, workers, and noise. Would stay there again.

The Cabin is well appointed and very clean. The owners are great communicators and very friendly. Access to the lake is down some stairs which is good exercise. We highly recommend staying there. We loved it and plan to come back in the future.

We spent our time taking in the beautiful view from the balcony, driving around and just breathing in the colors of the trees and fresh air. We found a lovely winery and the beach. We definitely will be back

My friend and I needed a girls weekend and this cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was well equipped with everything we needed, clean, and comfortable. We loved the kayaks and easy access to the lake and spent a lot of time rocking on the porch enjoying the beautiful surroundings. It's a close drive to Roanoke where we spent one morning hiking and great food options closeby. Definitely recommend!

Nice and relaxing. Did not realize that we were at the outer edge of Smith Mountain Lake so fishing was not great but cabin was very comfy.

Without GPS it would have been hard to find. It is a great get away for peace and quiet. The plus side there was internet to be able to stay in touch with family. Very beautiful and clean.

We loved the peace and tranquility, the cabin was perfect for the two of us. Comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The beautiful lake just below the front deck was amazing with the colors of the autumn leaves reflecting on the waters. We would love to vacation there again soon

When we arrived the cleaning lady who lives nearby was still cleaning—she was very sweet and always made sure we had everything we needed. She even went the extra mile and called a neighbor when our air pump wouldn’t work on our tubes. The property is secluded about 25 min. from SML central area. The water is not as clear down this tributary to SML but did provide some good fishing and a quick dip/swim or kayaking. The cabin is well maintained and the front porch, fire pit and floating dock were our favorite hangout spots. The biggest con is how incredibly steep the walk down stairs and uneven terrain to dock is—we had already rented kayaks from owner but otherwise probably wouldn’t have—can’t believe we got them down and back up safely! Also, having to dispose of our own trash while in vacation after paying a cleaning fee is a downside too—had to make a couple trips as there was no trash receptacle and we had luggage in car. It was a very quiet relaxing weekend. I appreciate the responsiveness and friendly ways of property managers and nearby neighbors with chickens/eggs!

Cabin on the lake
The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. It was all what we were looking for. Fishing was good during the week as long as boat traffic was slow. Even the stairs going to the lake looked tough but a few times up and down think we got in better shape from doing it. Looking out on the lake from the porch listening to the birds- peace and quiet. Thank you for everything !!

Relaxing and peaceful
My wife knows I love to fish and we love hiking. mountains, nature and longing in the lake. We were not disappointed! Wonderful clean and modern, we had the dock and lake all to ourselves. We purchased noodles at the dollar general and lounged in the lake in the afternoon. My wife tanned in the am. We frequented the restaurants and the state park. Now we want a home just like this one. Amazing rustic experience and the firepit was a bonus.

So Beautiful!
This trip was wonderful. We literally never even left the cabin and had an amazing time! We spent all of our time on the porch listening and looking at the wildlife. And the cabin itself was perfect for hanging out and letting the babies run around. We are already planning next years trip!

Very cool cabin!
This was an extremely cute, clean and simple, but modern cabin! This cabin was spacious for 2 people and perfect for a 2 day getaway at the lake. It was equipped with everything we needed: extra rolls of toilet paper, paper towels, coffee filters and coffee maker, pop-up toaster, utensils, plates, soap in the shower, hand soap and dish washing soap and a few clothes hangers to hang clothes in the closet. The AC worked well and was adjustable in each room! There were also ceiling fans in each room and the living room. On the balcony, there were cute lights, fans, outdoor rocking chairs, and regular chairs. The chairs were light and easy to carry to the fire pit. The bedrooms were larger than they appeared in the pictures. The parking area was very well lit. This location is quiet and away from the main road. It's about 20 minutes from the restaurant Mango's in Moneta. The only downside to this cabin was the very steep hike down to the dock on the lake. But we enjoyed sunbathing and the dock and swimming in the lake. Two more things worth mentioning: The shower was small but clean. There is also no dishwasher. Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin and would absolutely stay here again!

Cozy cabin
The cabin was clean & cozy. We couldn’t write in the guest book because there were no pens & we didn’t have one . The gravel walk to the deck was not wheelchair friendly. I had to walk with the help of my husband so I would not say the cabin is accessible. Other than that we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Thanks

Lovely stay at "The Cabin" at Smith Mountain Lake.
Our stay at "The Cabin" was wonderful. The cabin is beautifully situated above Smith Mountain Lake with gorgeous views of the water. Perched among the trees, we felt like we were staying in a treehouse, with birds and squirrels roaming the canopy in front of us. The cabin is well-appointed and very comfortable. The stairs down to the dock were steep but manageable, and the dock was spacious and well-maintained. Highlights for us were exploring the many nearby coves by kayak and sitting on the large deck every night, enjoying the sounds of nature. Finally, the host Lannette was a pleasure to work with, flexible and responsive. We would absolutely stay here again!
