Our grownup kids joined us for five days of biking and hiking in Acadia. The house is a sweet, quiet place for outdoor and indoor meals, card games, and reading. Loved it.

We had a wonderful four night stay at Boreal Cottage near Acadia. The home, location and proximity to the park were perfect. The nearby beach and bike rental place down the road was convenient. The home had a perfect New England charm. It was stocked with everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

My group had a lovely time at the Boreal Cottage! This was a wonderful launching point for a visit to Acadia. The listing was very accurate, and the cottage was stocked with just about everything we needed for the trip, including plenty of books and board games! The cottage is within walking distance of a bike rental, which was very convenient for exploring the park via carriage roads, and a fairly short and easy drive to Bar Harbor. The house was generally clean, and the landscaping was cute and inviting. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely stay here again!

We had a great stay in this cute house in seal harbor. I would definitely recommend. We could walk to a quiet beach. It also has easy access to the carriage roads, which are amazing for morning runs. Everything in the house was great. A/C in each bedroom was nice. Thanks for they stay, we really enjoyed it!

The cottage is exactly as described. A 5 minute walk to the beach and easy access to the carriage roads and amazing hiking. The home is meticulous and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are very comfortable. We absolutely loved this rental and can’t wait to come back!

The cottage was as described - it had everything you needed and was very comfortable. The best part was actually the shady yard. It was peaceful and quiet. The only think we had wished for was a outdoor recliner so we could read books in the shade!

We absolutely loved our street in the cottage. It was perfect for our trip to Acadia. Loved the location and authentic charm. The owners communicated well, everything needed was provided and it was clean.
Would stay again if we have the privilege of returning. Great trip!

We loved our stay at at Boreal Cottage. It was set up wonderfully for us, our two children (4 and nearly 2), and my husband's parents. The kids were excited about the house toys and books. We loved the amount of natural light in the space and the furnishing were comfortable. The access to Seal Harbor was ideal for an easy adventure that still felt restful when the kids were worn out. The access to the park was also wonderful - we spent a lot of time in the Jordan Pond and Eagle Lake areas, enjoying every view and climb! We hope to be back soon!

Great location. Kid friendly - toys for kids and pack and play cribs available. Only wished for more seating/lounging furniture in TV room, only small Couch available but large dining room table available. I very much enjoyed my stay.

House was comfortable, in a great location and had necessities for traveling with kiddos, I.e. toys and a pack n’ play… they even had a couple toddler hiking back packs! Great place, highly recommend!

Nice small home with adequate facilities and space. Great location. Our last day Hurricane Lee struck with rain and wind. The fact that there is no cellular signal there was a problem. When the wifi is working it is not a problem, but power was lost from noon to 2 am. There is a signal a block or so away, but. not pleasant in rain and wind. That day the locked basement flooded and the gas can stored there tipped over creating a smell in the house that worried us. Contacted owner in California who contacted her maintenance man who could not be bothered to look into the problem. Owner called 911, firemen showed up, ripped off the basement door and took the gas can away. Not a great experience. I think the house could use some TLC. Almost all doors could not be closed without slamming them very hard. Since they are wooden, the problem could easily be remedied. Still, the house and location were very good, and the hurricane was not anyone's fault.

What a great property!! We had such a peaceful and relaxing time visiting Acadia and exploring the island communities. The house was in great shape and had everything we needed. It was away from the crowds of Bar Harbor but central to everything.

Seal Harbor is a hidden gem away from the bustle and crowds of Bar Harbor. I am so glad we had this private retreat to enjoy during our stay. The cottage was cute and cozy. We enjoyed croquet on the lawn. We cooked a nice fish dinner and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We didn’t have any problems with the hot water- showers were great! One day it rained so we walked into Seal Habor and had a nice breakfast at the Lighthouse Inn, then enjoyed hours of fun at the charming and unique Naturalist Notebook (not to be missed!) and walked on the beach. There is an entrance to the park right by the beach. And Bar Harbor is only 15 min beautiful drive away for dinner out if you like (stop in Otter Creek Market for fresh baked cookies if you like!) overall, such a pleasant stay and would highly recommend.

We loved the Boreal Cottage home and its location. The hosts did a superior job communicating. Their guest information exceeded anything we have received in over 10 vacation rentals. We did have a small problem with the hot water and they responded quickly. If they fully resolve this issue, I would stay there again and increase my rating to outstanding.

Great location to explore Acadia National Park! Comfortable home, comfortable beds. We hiked and biked every day enjoying the Maine coast.

The location of the house was great for exploring the island. But after a long day there was no where to relax at this house. There was one couch In the house and a picnic table outside. We have a family of six and it was a problem. The weather was great, so even if there were some Adirondack chairs outside that would have helped. We basically slept and ate here, but if having a rental to relax at the end of a long day of exploring g is what you want, I would pick another place.

The space was great for our 3 generation family of 6. The location was great, parking was great, outside space was great. Because the weather was unseasonably hot we really wished there had been an openable window in the master bedroom.

This house is perfect! You can be in Bar Harbor or Acadia within minutes and the carriage trails can be accessed by bike from the house…just one mile! The house had everything we needed for a week and was very clean! The neighborhood is very quite and Seal Harbor is a cute little town!! We had some trouble using the keypad when we first arrived but Crystal responded to messages immediately and helped us get onto the cottage within minutes! Boreal Cottage is amazing and I highly recommend it!!

Perfect stay in Seal Harbor
My family of five (two adults, kids 14, 12, and 10) just arrived home from our 10 day stay at Boreal Cottage and wish we could go back! We visit Acadia often and have found that Seal Harbor is the best location for both proximity to the park and a quiet atmosphere. It comfortably held our family of five and would be a great place to stay if you have younger children - well equipped for young children and toddlers. The house was extremely clean and very well equipped. Communication with the host was easy and we'd definitely stay here again! Thanks Crystal for a lovely stay!

Very comfortable
The home was comfortable and clean. Located about 10 minutes from Bar Harbor by car, and even closer to 2 of the park entrances. Well supplied Kitchen. Our only wish was that the living room was larger and had more seating, as there wasn’t quite enough room for our family of four to lounge there comfortably. Otherwise, a perfect stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the house. It was in a great location and super close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Would definitely recommend the house to others. Had everything we needed for our stay.

Beautiful home, perfect location!
This home is simply beautiful with plenty of space to gather together or enjoy quiet time. Fully stocked non food items in the kitchen, they really thought of everything. Exactly as advertised. I would recommend a cushioned chair in the living room so one person isn’t sitting in a wooden chair as they only cushioning is on the sofa. Hard for a group to visit sitting in a line. The lower review on check-in is because the cleaning crew were unaware we were arriving (we were not early) so we had to wait outside (not too long) while they finished up and left. The smell from still wet cleaning products was a bit overwhelming when we first got there, had to go around opening windows. Luckily, it wasn’t too cold out. The location is perfect to do anything on the island. I would definitely rent again!!
