Great communication from the owner throughout, lovely location, quiet neighborhood. Two bedrooms, one bathroom was enough for our needs. House was in excellent shape, highly recommend!

This was our second summer at the property (2 adults + 1 teenager). Great location—you can be parked at Jordan Pond and out walking within 5 minutes of leaving the house; a nice early walk/hike to start the day.
The house is spotlessly clean and well stocked. Particularly nice for a NE vacation rental: sheets, towels, beach towels are all provided (and there is a washer+dryer if you need it).
Recommendation: book the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden in advance if you are interested, it is a special place and just a couple minutes away from the property.
Recommendation: Ambergris Voyages (captained by Patrick, out of Southwest Harbor) is an ideal way to sail aboard a schooner without the crowds of some of the Bar Harbor boats—6 passengers max so you can really move around the boat, which is beautiful.

The house is very charming and clean. Matt was communicative and helpful. The house is away from downtown which I actually found to be nice. Very quiet and there are some carriage trails and bike rental down the street. Easy drive into Bar Harbor so don’t worry about the distance. Overall a great stay.

My husband and I stayed here the first week of October. It was perfect for us. There is a path down the street that will take you right to one of the carriage roads that lead to Jordon Pond, no driving required! Of course it was an easy drive to Bar Harbor and the Quiet side. The house was immaculate. We ate in most evenings, and the kitchen had all the supplies we needed - pots, pans, utensils, dishes, Rubbermaid containers, etc. Matt left detailed instructions, including wifi info, what to do on departure day, contact info how to use the tv's and so on. The neighborhood was quiet. We slept upstairs in the king size bed. It was quite comfortable. The bathroom was large and the plumbing worked well. The extensive library was a joy to browse through, and if the weather had been bad (it wasn't!) we'd have had plenty to read. Having just the one bathroom upstairs was no problem for us. I could see that if you were with other people it might be a little weird. The house is terrific and perfectly located, though! Would definitely stay there again.

Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Seal Harbor. The location of the house is ideal for driving and biking into Acadia NP to enjoy all the park has to offer, as well as Bar Harbor which is a short 15 minute drive. It’s located in the quaint town of Seal Harbor, which is wonderful on it’s own with a nice beach, restaurant, coffee & ice cream shop and bike rentals. The home is even nicer than the photos indicate. The house was immaculately clean with all the amenities you could possibly need, and the beds are both extremely comfortable. The single bathroom upstairs was a bit of a challenge with two teenage boys, but we made it work. The host Matt was extremely responsive and helpful when I messaged him with a couple questions. We had one entire day of rain during our stay when we enjoyed all the comforts of the home including the strong wifi and 2 large smart tvs with Roku. We discovered our new favorite way to eat lobsters, precooked from the Hannafords in Bar Harbor;) We would definitely recommend this house to others and we look forward to returning for our next visit to Maine.

Spotlessly clean house with large, bright common rooms. Nice layout for a small family or two couples. Great library. Kitchen and bathroom well stocked and nice setup with the available washer & dryer.
Easy walk in to Seal Harbor for coffee or slightly further right to Seal Harbor beach. The Jordan Pond park entrance is actually walkable too if you don’t feel like dealing with parking there. Nice quiet neighborhood just off of route 3 feels secluded and private.

The house had everything we needed for a great vacation. It was very clean and light. The location was amazing - a few minutes walk to Seal Harbor beach with shops and a restaurant on the way. A short walk to the carriage trails and Jordan Pond in Acadia. Bar Harbor and other trails are a short drive. The house was so quiet and peaceful compared to Bar Harbor, but with its proximity to everything we wanted to do, we could not ask for more. Thanks Matt!

Practically in the park
We stayed here because of how close the house is to Acadia. You can easily bike or walk to the carriage roads and Jordan Pond House is right down the road. As far as Seal Harbor, it’s very centrally located for accessing different hikes.
The neighborhood was very quiet. We were here very early season, but I would imagine it’s very quiet even in peak season. The house was very clean and matches the photos in the listing.

Best Property on Mount Desert Island!
I am so glad we booked this house, as it was a literal perfect fit for our group of 4 and put us in an unbeatable location just outside Acadia. Can't say enough good things about this property! From the beginning, Matt was extremely good with communication and check-in was a breeze. The house itself was immaculate and well-appointed, so much so that the kitchen tools and spices we brought were unnecessary! Being this close to Jordan Pond ensured ease getting onto Park Loop Road and other trailheads that we were interested in. At night, the house was warm, the beds were insanely comfy, and I've truly never felt more well-rested during a vacation. Plenty of space in the kitchen and living room for hanging out, playing games, watching TV, etc. and was a great "home base" for the house. No issues encountered, and the small questions that I did have for Matt, he was prompt to reply and easy to get a hold of. I wish I owned this house! But since I can't, I'll definitely book this place next time we're in Acadia! Thanks Matt!

Beautiful home- great location!
This was our first time to Maine! So much to do in the surrounding area in 15-30 drives. Acadia trail entrance about a mile from the property- you can walk if able. We walked to the downtown Seal Harbor Light House Restaurant and the Natualist Store is a MUST! Small community of harbors- Bar Harbor about 15 minute drive- fun adventures but great to get back to this quiet property in Seal Harbor. Would recommend highly!

Location location location
This is a very comfortable, quiet house in a beautiful location. Minutes from the carriage roads and Acadia. Seal Harbor is a quiet town with a beach, access to swimming in a fresh water pond. And a couple really fun shops. I highly recommend 1 Wildwood.

Ideal Acadian Getaway
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful home. It was immaculately clean and exactly as described. The location was ideal - in minutes we were on Park Loop Road, making it ideal for exploring Acadia National Park and getting an early start on the day. Seal Harbor itself was also beautiful, and we spent several afternoons and evenings on the beach in town. Highly recommend this comfortable home, and look forward to returning again in the future.

Owners go above and beyond to be responsive!
My husband has mobility issues and the property had entry stairs that did not have a handrail. My husband mentioned this to Amy and within a couple of days, Matt showed up and installed handrails. This was not something we asked for or expected and were really surprised by the kind gesture. The house is kept really clean and is in a great location. For others in similar positions, I would note that there is no bathroom/powder room on the first floor which is a disadvantage and I failed to note the lack of access to a washer and dryer when I booked and packed, but that was my fault!! The house and the owners are wonderful and accomodating.
