I looked at several homes and it was difficult to find one to accommodate 19 of us and we wanted a pool. My mistake was not reading ALL the reviews before booking. House location was a ridiculous steep hill. The 12 passenger vans struggled to get up there. Every time we had to leave the it was a struggle going down the hill and back up upon returning. The house needs a deep cleaning like mentioned in other reviews. ( I read after the stay) a house full of teens and I had to personally kill 3 roaches during our stay. One of the toilets was clogged up ( also already mentioned in other reviews) but now we are being charged $600 to unclog it. Charging for a broken window. ( the 4 adults with the group of dance club did a sweep of all the house before leaving & none of us saw a broken window) all of our students were well behaved and we would’ve known if there was a broken window while we were there. One of the restrooms sink was also clogged. I called the lady in charge and she offered to send a plumber but while we weren’t home but needed something in writing that I was okay to let the plumber in and not responsible if anything would go missing. So we opt it out and decided to to use the toilet or sink that weren’t working. It would be nice if it was mentioned that it’s a COMMUNITY POOL in a different address a few blocks away from the property. Had to walk down and up the very steep hill ( dangerous for our students and not to mention tiring)
I Would NOT recommend this house.

Nice property and shows like the online listing My problem were the things you couldn’t see. Very steep drive and no stairs from the street to the house, had to walk up the driveway and it rained so a slippery driveway. Hot tub was turned off, not a problem but wasn’t inform during check in. Water to one toilet was turned off so toilet didn’t work, and again not notified during check in. Again ok but not great for elderly or people who would have problems walking.

Overall really good place. Would stay here again. Our family, 21 of us, enjoyed the common areas very much. Lots of TV/Media, great deck. Many details left undone. Vacuum left out, not swept, no/few paper products, ice dispenser did not work, iron did not work, some rooms very crowded.
Driveway too steep to traverse in wet weather.

I’ll start with the good points. The views from the porch are lovely. The house is big and can accommodate a lot of people. The neighborhood seems nice. The dining room is very well-lit with a great table. The tiles and window in the upstairs shower/bath are beautiful. Now for the negatives, which unfortunately stole the show. We asked if we could do a slightly early check in (3pm instead of 4pm) and were told yes. The first thing that greeted us was a driveway that was an absurd incline. If you have anyone with mobility issues, this may not be the rental house for you. Upon entering the house through the scratched grungy garage door, we were greeted by a washing machine that was already running and leaking water all over the floor. (We never used the washing machine). It seems that the cleaning crew that was there working on the house was told to flee with the clothes on their back and leave every single thing where it lay. All the doors were left unlocked. The main level floor didn’t look like it had been mopped for a long time. An unopened bottle of mouthwash and a bottle of shower gel were confusingly placed on the round table in the kitchen, with a single box of tissues as a centerpiece on the main dining table. A bottle of 95% empty watered-down dish soap at the kitchen sink was all that was available to wash pots and pans. A giant opened package of toilet paper was just thrown on one of the nightstands in an upstairs bedroom. There wasn’t soap in half the bathrooms and the ones that did have soap were nearly empty bottles. There were no trash cans in any of the bathrooms or bedrooms. Some of the mirrors were dirty. One of the beds was clearly unmade with unwashed sheets. Many light switches had visible grime on them. Towels were stacked wherever. An old sock was shoved behind the bed in the master bedroom. There were large dust piles under both upstairs queen beds. Every linen closet looked like someone had just thrown whatever mismatched wrinkly sheets or old pillows in there. The hot tub maxed out at 94 degrees which was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons we booked this house. Every single bedroom upstairs is lit with what seems to be a single 40w incandescent bulb that makes each room look like the setting of a horror movie. Someone did come back to finish cleaning when we requested it after arriving, but I think even if the cleaning crew had 3 days to clean, this house would still be an overwhelming project.

From the large patio you get some of the best views of Texas! The amenities were perfect for what we needed and the AC more more than sufficient to handle the San Antonio heat! Especially considering we were 20 people. Host was fantastic and accommodating. If we ever come back to San Antonio, this will be the place we go to.

If you are looking for fancy this isn’t it, but if you are looking for laid back fun you found the place. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub. There is a big table that is great for games. The deck was super nice late in the evening and we cooked steaks on the grill.

This is a beautiful home. I love the beautiful layout of it. The only complaint for me was the driveway. If you bring your elderly parents, make sure you have a vehicle that can travel up slopes because they would not be able to walk up it. You can get perfectly fit going up and down that driveway. My grandkids had no problem on foot going up and down it. You need vehicles with big wheels because of the slope. My brother came over and his truck made it up there. We left our cars parked on the side of the road in which they were perfectly safe.
On foot, I had to pull myself up and my kids discovered to walk like Barney coming down, and actually leaning back putting my weight back helped me going down. I put the bounce in it and all after I watched them do it. 😆
The photos does not speak for this home.
The fireworks show was awesome watching from the balcony.
Everything that you would need is available at this home. My grands enjoyed the neighborhood pool. The neighborhood was overall safe and quiet.
There were beds beds and extra beds to accommodate a large group. My family had a blast.

Vacation stay for family of 20
We made it fun. The stay for our family of 20 worked. Although we never saw fireworks go off from six flags, the location is beautiful and close to so many things to do. We used the pool table throughout the entire stay, and definitely took advantage of the community pool which is only a short stroll away - perfect for hot summers in Texas. The kitchen was used daily for cooking breakfast and dinners - loved that there was plenty of spices available, and 2 refrigerators.
Besides a handful items not functioning properly, the only true issue is that driveway - passenger van could not make it up the steep hill, and SUVs/sedans will more than likely hit bottom every time. Older folks and anyone who isn't active will struggle having to walk up or down, when you have to park on the street or walk to the pool.

Great property for family vacation rental. Host responded immediately with questions about property. Very safe neighborhood with lot of things to do nearby. Watched six flags fireworks from the deck. The kids loved the pool table, community pool and basketball court. Would definitely stay again

The house was OK. It served our purpose to be able for family to spend Christmas Day together. The only issue was that it was not clean. The dishes in the cabinet were dirty, some were put away wet. The countertops all needed to be cleaned. The house is in need of a good deep cleaning.

Our stay at the property was very nice. The house is as advertised. We found the house very clean and had no complaints with the cleanliness. We had issues with the stovetop on the first night and upon contacting the property manager, she quickly sent someone out to look at it. Once the technician explained the quirks of the range we were able to use it. We particularly enjoyed the pool table and hot tub, both of which appeared in good condition. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would stay at the house again.

This house is a hot mess.
It wasn’t the steep driveway, multiple stairs, or the failing windows that were wrong with this house. It was the total lack of cleanliness and safety that were the issue. From filthy floors, hairy toilets, dirty laundry left behind, grossly dirty garbage cans, and nasty bed pillows to a completely unsafe garage full of chemicals, a broken down stove top range, a clogged sink on Thanksgiving day, and dangerously old cooking pans, this house needs a serious overhaul.
We tried reaching out to Evelyn to see if she had a different house for us to rent, with no response. When, the next day, we expressed our distress about the heating vents, Evelyn sent a furnace inspector out to take a look, but never gave us the results of the testing done on them for black mold, so some of our family left.
Suffice it to say that we were not prepared for the house to have so many problems. Having to clean the house upon arrival, trying to cook, and work on a clogged sink (fortunately we had a family member who is plumber) for hours was not only misleading, but straight up fraudulent.
We asked Evelyn for a partial refund and were informed that, because of our actions costing her money, she was only willing to offer us a $100 refund. She said that we didn’t have permission to unclog the kitchen sink, so, minus the charges for a plumber (after we left), and a heating inspector, she wasn’t going to offer anything more. She did suggest that we could get another $100 from VRBO, if we wrote a five star review of the home, though. Wow.

Clearly a repo house, with little care of safety and cleanliness.

It looks like a family quickly abandoned this property and it’s left in an unmaintained state. This property is not to be confused as a vacation home.
When we arrived the cleaning person was just finishing up, but many of the issues with this house are far beyond what a couple of cleaning people can resolve. Although contactless check-in is a popular feature, it would have been best to walk through the property with the property manager to point out issues. They clearly don’t have a checklist of items to ensure the property is ready for guest use.
The driveway is unusable, extremely steep, and dangerous, especially in the rain. Rideshare drivers refused to ascend the driveway due to its steep and narrow design. Additionally, there are no lights lining the driveway or lights to approach the house at night.
Hot tub was usable once it was cleaned
There were dirty dishes and cookware in the cabinets that required thorough cleaning before use.
Some of the towels and sheets were stained. We rewashed pillowcases and kitchen cloths before using them. A gummy bear candy was found stuck to one of the pillowcases. Light bulbs were burnt out in dining room. Every closet had haphazardly strewn random junk/items such trash, ladders, broken toys, blankets, and pieces of outdated speaker systems. Shower curtains were dirty, and some did not reach the top of the tub, so water went all over the floor. Stovetop was not in good condition as it did not work consistently. Coffee pot does not function properly. There are only five coffee mugs that were small, dirty, and mismatched. There was an insufficient quantity of toilet paper, tissues, and hand/bath soap. There were multiple clogged drains in master bath sink and kitchen. Floors were dirty and need to be washed. Leather furniture was well worn. Pillows on the couches were not clean and need to be replaced. The pantry contained random items including dog leash, serving ware, sprouting potatoes, and left-over food from prior guests.
The TV, electronic games, and stereo were unusable due to either being outdated, disconnected, or broken; however; the WiFi was effective.
Billiard table was in good shape, but the cabinet in the billiard room had random items including used cups, empty old beer cans, and other junk inside.. The garage contained broken chairs, disorganized construction materials, used paint cans, and an unusable appliance. The deck furniture was broken and cushions left in rain.

We booked this rental but ended up getting upgraded to a different property owned by Evelyn. The original house we booked was getting new floors installed and wasn’t going to be ready in time for our stay, so she upgraded us to another amazing house! The house was perfect for our large group! It had plenty of space/beds and a private pool and hot tub! We loved the time we were able to spend with our family and friends there! Evelyn made sure that all of our needs were met! She went above and beyond for us and we really appreciated it! Thanks so much Evelyn!

The property was in need of a considerable amount of general maintenance and repairs. Minor item was that the refrigerator filters needed the be changed, probably years ago. In general we did not think that it was particularly clean. Glassware dishes, appliances, floors. With all the beds, bedding, quilts, pillows and throw pillows throughout the house, it’s not very likely that the one person cleaning the place could ever wash everything. It could have been worse, of course, but we won’t be back.

I will start with the pros. The house was spacious for our family. The house was located in a nice and safe neighborhood. It was close to the amusement parks. And the River walk. And there’s a hot tub.
But one thing that we were not satisfied was the cleaning. I did speak to the home owner the day after we arrived. Sadly I couldn’t have a good conversation due to the fact that I was at Sea World. I told her that the clean was not done well. The floor looked like that hadn’t swept. There was dust everywhere. The toilets where not clean thoroughly. We had a baby who couldn’t play on the ground because it was dirty. We wiped down what we could the day we got there. But like my brother in law said “We didn’t come here to clean, if we did I would have stayed home and cleaned my own home.” The owner said she could send someone over but we already had un packed and we weren’t even home due to our outings. Plus I think the clean should be done before the people arrive not after. It would have been inconvenient for them to come and clean as we had already settled. The fridge was dirty and it smelled. The pot were sticky. The coffee maker was dirty as well. The dishwasher looked dirty. We washed everything by hand instead.
The cleanliness was poor over all. I really would expect better cleanliness. Also we found a scorpion on one of the nights we got back from our outings.
I would encourage the homeowner to keep up with the house better.
A Side note that I would add to future families is that you car should be a 4x4. The driveway was steep and if you have a small car, it would scratch the floor at the bottom of the driveway. You need a truck or a big SUV. Just a FYI.
In the pictures everything looked amazing. Once we got there it was ok. I guess it was okay. But the one thing we can’t get over was the cleanliness. Sorry.

Good price, bad cleaning job, ugly driveway
I expected there to be minor cleanliness issues, based off other reviews, but the house is really a work in progress. I hope! Bring flip flops or slides the floor is not sealed and we all had black feet. We had to sweep and clean kitchen as soon as we got there. So as far the house itself it could be super nice it’s in a great neighborhood, but needs TLC. The driveway is awful! That was our biggest hassle, it’s so steep! You will squeal tire going up and bottom out going down. All that said it was a good trip, it slept all the people we had. I know the drive is something you cannot really help, but the cleanliness could have been better. Very responsive property manager! The cookies were greatly appreciated.
