About this house rental
Lakefront property nestled Just South of the beautiful Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. Highest lake east of the Mississippi means cooler temperatures and provides great fishing, swimming, kayaking, boating and hiking. Whitewater rafting and Ziplines just a short drive away. Less than a mile to the public boat launch.
Enjoy the dock for swimming in the clear water and the kayaks to venture out on the lake. Boat rental available at the Marina. Lakes End is accessible by boat for lunch and dinner.
This home provides a spacious, fully equipped kitchen for family cooking. Three decks, one on each level of the house, offer outdoor dining and great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. First level/Basement with ping pong and foosball. Plenty of privacy and quiet. This house and area a great choice for a family vacation. We are lakefront, with 99 steps from the house to the dock. At the end of our street (about 5 houses down) is the boundary of the National Forest with some great places to hike/explore. This is a 3 story home that sits on the side of a mountain, so it's hilly and not recommended for those with mobility issues.
***WE NOW HAVE STARLINK INTERNET! A significant upgrade in speed/service since those who commented on spotty internet in our reviews.

Beautiful property and lake! Lakes End Marina has excellent service. You shoud know that the driveway is single lane & on steep incline. (Be sure to have plenty of gas or fuel pump can get vapor locked on incline). In case you have mobility issues, know that there are 111 steps down to the dock. We loved the view and everyone had the best time! Highly recommended!

This was a great spot to spend a week with my family. The lake was perfect and the house well stocked. The property sits on a lake and we found it to be one of the quieter ones in the Appalachian Range. House was perfect for a large group. The stairs are no joke so if you go down to the dock try not to forget something as it’s a ten flight climb back up. Would definitely go back given the opportunity.

Our family has enjoyed this spacious updated home for four summers. We rent a boat @ a marina close by giving us 24 hr access to explore Nantahala Lake. This home is the perfect setting to get away and truly relax and enjoy the beauty of lake front living.

Nestled in the woods and away from the city hustle and bustle is the hidden gem that backs into Nantahala lake. Limited WiFi and no cell coverage made it a digital detox for the entire family and we had loads and loads of fun hiking and boating..
Thank you for the hospitality and services

We couldn’t get enough of the Fantastic views! We do a guys trip each year, and while some of the guys missed being able to stay connected, others enjoyed the time away from everything. The internet is as bad as they claim, but it was nice to disconnect and spend quality time with friends. Great host! While he wasn’t nearby, he answered all of our questions very quickly! We will keep this place in mind for future trips.

We just spent 5 days at this beautiful property! We celebrated my sons 4th birthday there and everyone had an amazing time. The views from the house were stunning and the lake was the most amazing green color and the temperature was perfect. The house had plenty of space so we never felt crowded. The boats and floats included were a big hit. The only downside is the number of steps to the lake but they clearly put that in the listing. I thought of the steps as my daily workout.
We are already planning a return trip next summer.

We’ve stayed at this property several times. It’s easy to access, a great house and the owners are fantastic. Rent a boat from the marina to really enjoy the lake.

This lovely, well appointed house has an ideal layout for the entire family to be together, yet allows privacy for everyone. One son & wife uses the bottom floor bedroom. My husband & I use the main floor and our other son, wife & 2 children enjoy the top floor bedrooms. The view of the lake is incredible & the dock accommodates the boat we rent @ the marina.

I have been visiting the Smoky Mountains every year since 2018, and this is one of the best experience there.
1) the house is clean and tide, and adequately equipped with entertainment stuff;
2) Living deep in mountains is very different. Here is so quiet and peaceful.
3) It was very easy to talk with the owners. We left some items there and the owners mailed them to us at their first convenience.

This property is perfect for anyone seeking to disconnect from people and technology. The views are stunning. The house is spacious and comfortable. The house is at least 20 minutes away from the nearest grocery store so plan accordingly. Cellphone signal is nonexistent and internet is spotty at best. Download your maps ahead of time.

The home is beautiful with spectacular views and the kitchen so wonderfully large - great porches and fun activities onsite like kayaking, swimming, ping pong and foosball, not to mention the fire pit and evening smores! Fantastic temperatures even in August with easy boat rental within minutes and Ottercreek Trout Farm where we caught and grilled our catch the same day. Hope to return ...

Great, spacious family vacation property
Our family of six adults and two children enjoyed our time together. With 3 levels, we had personal privacy yet the main level was open with plenty of space for all of us to be together. Fabulous views of the lake. Well appointed, clean home. This was our second visit and we look forward to returning.

Great for active multi-family vacations
Really lovely house & beautiful lake! The reviews & instructions are all accurate - no cell coverage, spotty wi-fi during inclement weather, long walk up/down the steps. (Not suited for people with back/knee/hip issues.) The driveway is steep & the roads are narrow. It is what it looks like - a lake house in the mountains!
BUT the lake views are amazing. The decks are welcoming. The lake floats, kayaks, paddle boards are generous. The kitchen is a joy & ample storage space for groceries. Plenty of bedrooms/sleeping areas. We went waterfall hiking outside of Bryson City. (Had it been warmer, the tubing would have been ideal.) We had a wonderful multi-family vacation.

Hello Fall
TJ was very responsive and helpful and quick to respond.
The house is way into the woods and in a gated community between a lake and the mountain. The road to get to the house is narrow so can be a little scary to drive on. The driveway is newly paved and we were thankful for that, so much better than a gravel drive at that angle.
The house was clean and well laid out with a good sized kitchen and a great view out the back wall of Windows.
The 3 levels were wonderful, a level for the kids and a level for the adults. The balconies were great too.
The lake was really low when we were there but still were able to look around the beach. We found plenty of things to do in Andrews and surrounding area. 2 breweries, a hike along the Appalachian trail and even the Punkin chunkin festival
The WiFi was not great to say the least but we enjoyed our stay.
Thank you.

Beautiful Lake!
If you would like to enjoy any boating on the lake, I would highly suggest booking in advance. The driveway is one lane and on a very steep incline! I would recommend backing in. There's a one lane road in the gateted community where the house is located, this makes it difficult to pull over for another car. The futon and fold out couch on second floor were both broken and unusable. This was disappointing because we had a party of 10. The host was easy to contact when we arrived. Hope this review is helpful to both the host and future renters.

Lake House
Did not accurately describe the 129 steps from house to dock & RETURN
WiFi was sketchy at best
Boat rental & lake’s marina we’re Excellent
Accommodations were Excellent
Fishing was absolutely horrible. 3 days and no bites. Marina folks told us it is a particularly tough lake to successfully fish. Wish we’d have known that!

Beautiful
Beautiful place to stay I didn't like the driveway was so steep we couldn't park on it and the walk down to the water was very exhausting getting down and back up

The home was perfect for our large family right on the lake.
We loved the home and the room we had for our family. All the beds were comfortable. The steps up and down to the lake were a workout but worth it to enjoy chilling in the lake. We were blessed with great weather so we had a great vacation on beautiful Lake Nantahala!

Nice location!
The house was very nice and the location on the lake is excellent! To make the house better, replace the broken oven (does not heat), invest in some better cooking pans and utensils, purchase newer sofas and clean spider webs from stairs and slider doors.

Spectacular location to disconnect and enjoy vacation
Great hosts and amazing location on the lake! No cell signal was just what we needed! Plenty of room for everyone to sleep (3 adults and 6 teenagers). We will definitely look to return in the future!
