Fabulous location and facilities. Ideally situated for easy access to town and country. Ideal base for us to attend our son’s wedding . Comfortable and well equipped too. Would highly recommend!

Lovely cottage short walk from town centre. Very clean and well kept with everything we needed for our stay.

A delightful character cottage, very clean and comfortable situated in a lovely quiet area, with spectacular views. Richard is a wonderful host, he informed us of great places to visit.

We loved staying in this historic cottage. Gorgeous views from every window, especially the third floor. Instructions were clear and thorough. Kitchen was well-equipped. We stayed in the third-floor bedroom, which was large and comfortable. Second floor bedroom also large. Three floors of winding steps would be tricky for anyone with mobility issues, but we knew this ahead of time. Fireplace was cozy after day of hiking. Did not need a car. Five-minute walk to town. The walk to cottage was up a steep hill but we knew this ahead of time. I would love to stay here again!

Bakewell Break
Easy to find, walking distance of Bakewell. Didn’t need to use car at all…. Great break. Cottage was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed. Had great info emailed by landlord but instructions were also left by landlord in cottage.
Thoroughly recommend this lovely old cottage for a break.

Nice Cottage in the middle of Bakewell
Great location close to the centre , fully furnished and super clean, the only thing it has stairs inside the house might not be suitable for someone with mobility challenges, but we were ok with it and it was mentioned with the description of the cottage. The owner is friendly and available on the phone, we had lovely time , definitely recommend !

We had a lovely stay in Catcliffe cottage for half term with our two children. With a dedicated parking spot, and 5 minute walk down the hill into Bakewell, it was the perfect location with so much to do on the doorstep. The property was clean and cosy, and having a bathroom for each of the two bedrooms and basement utility area was a plus. Being spread across 4 floors with quite steep stairs, may not suit all, but was perfect for our family. The views from the top floor bedroom each morning were stunning. All in all, a well equipped, clean, home from home cottage and a fantastic base to explore the Peaks. We hope to return one day.

Excellent Property with great communication
The property is in an excellent location within 5 mins of Bakewell town centre. It was very clean, warm and welcoming.
The owner made contact very early to ensure we knew everything required to enjoy the property. Private parking was useful and the wood burner was very handy on the chilly nights.
We made use of the local shops and restaurants (who will deliver), the Indian was particularly nice.
I would highly recommend to a small family or couple look for a hub in the Peaks. Would visit again. Thanks 🙏

Perfect
Just spent a week at Christmas in this cottage. As there were 3 adults it was ideal for us as it has 2 bathrooms. Well equipped everything you need for a great stay. Perfect location and peaceful, and fabulous views from the kitchen and upstairs bedroom. Great communication with Ricard.
Bakewell only 5 minutes walk and has everything you need Co-OP, Spar, 2 butchers fish and chips, we used both the Chinese which delivered and the food was lovely. We also ate at the Indian, great service some different dishes to your usual Indian with good service and very reasonable priced. Good selection of pubs. Chatsworth house only 6 mins drive or you can catch the bus there. Throughly enjoyed our stay and have rebooked for next Christmas

Clean comfortable cottage in a great location with lovely views
We enjoyed our stay in Longstone Cottage. We found the cottage clean & comfortable & were lucky enough to be able to eat outside most evenings. Perfectly situated to explore Bakewell and the surrounding Derbyshire villages & attractions. The walk into Bakewell is slightly steep but we mastered this after a few trips & the path is well lit once darkness falls. We were very happy that we were based in Bakewell that offered much more than other places we visited. A great base to visit close by Haddon Hall, Chatsworth, Eyam & many other places .

Characterful cottage in Bakewell
My friend and I spent a very pleasant week in Bakewell in this characterful and cosy cottage. Although it's a mid terrace property it was very quiet and peaceful. The cottage is conveniently situated near Bakewell town centre and also near Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall which we really enjoyed visiting.

Great little cottage in a great location
The cottage is very well located for a short walk into Bakewell town centre, but is uphill on the way back. The views from the cottage are sensational, especially from the master bedroom on the top floor. The cottage is very clean and well appointed with all the facilities you would desire. It is extremely useful to have a reserved parking space in a small town such as this. Finally the owner is extremely friendly and helpful, always responding very quickly. Will definitely return.

A well equipped cottage conversion with dedicated parking space. Walking distance of town centre.
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage which is well equipped. In a tourist centre, it was good to have an allocated off-road parking space. The cottage is in a quiet location within walking distance of the town centre ( a bit steep walking back!).
It made a good base for exploring the area. We visited Bakewell, Buxton and Derby. We also walked the Monsal Trail including viaduct and tunnels. We visited Speedwell Cavern, Peak Cavern and Peveril Castle. Bolsover Castle also made a very interesting contrast. With a longer trip we could have also included Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall.
There are a lot of fish and chip restaurants and we found Charles at Matlock Bath excellent.

Great place to stay. We were there over New Year. Warm and cosy with the log burner and great views and walks into Bakewell (5 minutes downhill a bit more coming back) and surrounding countryside. Good instructions from owner. Had a great time.

Fab cottage in the perfect location with great views over the town. Cottage very clean and well furnished, home from home. Longstone View has everything you need. Parking space is an added bonus with a short walk to town. Would recommend and will stay again.

It was a very nice property parking etc.had all that we needed .
All was positive about the cottage, except remain double bed, we both slept really badly in it all week. the bed frame and the mattress could play a tune, it was like sleeping in a bouncy castle, one moved the other woke up. think the springs have died. please oil the bed frame to stop it squeaking and invest in a decent mattress. apart from that we had a lovely stay. thank you.

A perfect cottage in a perfect location
We had a great few days over our October half term. Knowing that the weather can be unpredictable, we wanted somewhere that was well-placed for walks on good days but also had the potential for pottering around shops on not-so-good days. This cottage is perfect for that. We were able to leave the car in the designated parking space (always a bonus!) and take any number of walks (including a lovely round trip to Haddon Hall and back via Over Haddon) straight from the cottage door. Chatsworth is a short drive away, as is Matlock Bath. Of an evening (and on the rainy day!) we took the path into Bakewell itself for a potter (only a 5 minute walk, albeit longer on the way back after having eaten - it's quite steep!!). The cottage itself has great views across Bakewell and the Derbyshire countryside, is beautifully furnished and benefits from having 2 bathrooms. We felt at home! I'd wholeheartedly recommend it if you're looking for a stay in the heart of Derbyshire.

Fantastic location!!
Cottage was supplied with everything we could possibly need and the owner was exceptionally helpful when contacted. The cottage was walking distance from Bakewell and the village had everything you could want from shopping to eating. Also centrally located for visiting Chatsworth House. There was so much to do that we've decided we will definitely be back for a return visit!

Super central comfortable well equipped cottage
Close to Chatsworth for RHS Show and to NT properties. No need to drive to Bakewell as footpath right by cottage takes 5 minutes! Eyam plague village close by well worth a visit, fascinating stain glass window in church depicting 1665-6 plague. NT house in village, beautiful gardens. Countryside unspoilt lovely scenery just turn left out of Yelland road. Fabulous cottage!

Wonderful traditional but modernised terraced cottage
Lovely view from Bedroom 2 on the top floor with ensuite. Bedroom 1 near family bathroom on first floor. Modernised tastefully. Own parking space. Easy few minute walk into Bakewell with its excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. Wonderful peaceful location with excellent patio area out front overlooking well-tended gardens and more distant trees. Owners Richard and Christine very helpful. Would go again.

Character cottage in great location
Although weather was against us (rain most days) we still enjoyed our stay, with visits to Chatsworth, Eyam, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall. The walk into Bakewell was a pleasure, which meant dining out was relaxing with no drink/driving worries.
Cottage was very warm (first few days a bit chilly outside) and plenty of hot water. Richard (owner) was very helpful with a couple of minor problems re tuning in the TV and fixing the bathroom shower on/off control. Top bedroom is a delight - double windows means it had a good 'feel' and the views across open country are uplifting!
Very little traffic noise and access to the car parking space is very easy.
Good to have two sets of keys - many properties only provide one.
We would like to return to this area again hopefully to do some more walking, and this cottage would be an ideal base.

A lovely area to explore and nothing was too far from cottage. Enjoyed the warm cosy feel of the cottage

Great little cottage near town centre
This is a great little two bedroom cottage in Bakewell not far from the town centre. The layout makes great use of the available space spread over four floors including a utility room in the lower ground floor (leading to the back yard), living room and kitchen on the ground floor, twin bedroom and family bathroom on the first floor and a double bedroom with en suite on the second floor. The living room, bathroom and both bedrooms are a comfortable size, the kitchen and en suite are quite small but perfectly usable (the kitchen includes a four seat dining table too!) and would comfortably cater for a family of four. The cottage comes with its own off-road parking space.
On arrival the cottage was clean, towels were provided, as well as bedding and logs for the wood burner and Christmas decorations had been put up.
The route to the town centre is via a rather steep hill and the stairs in the cottage are quite steep and narrow and may not be suited to people with mobility problems. The front of the cottage is accessed via about six steps from either the car park or the town centre route. We were able to negotiate the latter with our child's pushchair.
The cottage owner was very helpful and thorough while organizing my visit and answered most questions before they had even been asked.
Overall, I can recommend this cottage highly and would consider staying in it again when my family next stays in Bakewell.

Perfect place to stay in Bakewell
My husband and I loved this cottage in Bakewell. Warm and cosy, full of character, very clean, had everything we needed and was in a lovely quiet location with beautiful views over Bakewell. The owner was very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous property beautifully situated.
The property seems freshly decorated, is well equipped and full of character. The kitchen contains everything you might need, not that we cooked.
Double bed was comfortable, neighbors quiet and a table and chairs out the front to drink some wine at and watch the sun set.
10 mins walk from the town and high enough to get lovely views. Might be a problem if a wheel chair is involved.
Richard was a pleasure to deal with.

This was our third stay at Longstone View and we were pleased to see that nothing had changed, with the exception of added Wifi which was a bonus. The cottage is set in a beautiful location and provids everything required for a really comfortable stay.
The whole family, including our two daughters have a particular fondness for Bakewell and the surrounding area and have special memories of time spent here over the last 6 years. It is always reassuring to know that at the end of a long day we can return to such a fabulous cottage. The views from all windows are amazing and have spent considerable time just standing on the top floor gazing out!
The cottage is extremely well and thoughtfully equipped and situated only a few minutes walk in to Bakewell. There is so much to do in the area: walking, bike trails, caves and caverns and shopping. Plus plenty of wonderful places to eat.
Certainly won't be our last stay here and will recommend to our friends.

This lovely cottage is exactly as described! It was far enough up the hill to afford you spectacular views from the main bedroom, but still only a 5-10 minute walk into Bakewell.
Everything you could possibly want for your stay is provided for and was also very good value for money!!
Although our weather was very wet, we stil managed to find some walks (thanks to the owners extensive library) and also try out all of the Bakewell pubs. Tip for food would be Manners in Bakewell and the Bull in Ashford in the water (2 mile walk from the cottage, no mud involved!)
Would stay again no question, thanks for renting to us.

The cottage was clean, very comfortable and generally well equipped. We enjoyed staying there for the week, despite the weather not being very good. When fine, it was nice sitting outside overlooking the cottage gardens and the neighbours were friendly. The two bathrooms were very useful and the beds ensured a good night's sleep. A welcome bottle of wine was also much appreciated, as were the numerous books and leaflets about the local area.
The steps are quite steep for going upstairs, but we were warned about this. Unfortunately one of the showers was not working on arrival, but the owners had already arranged for a plumber and a new shower was in place the following day. We also noticed the fridge freezer was a little noisy. Wifi would be a useful addition and a book containing all instructions to operate items e.g. Central heating, TV, oven etc so they were all in one place, would be good.
Bakewell is a short walk away (be aware it is a steep walk coming back!) There are lots of pleasant shops there and some good cafes. The old museum near the cottage is also worth a visit. Other places we enjoyed visiting were Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House, Heights of Abraham and Carsington Water.

If you are looking for a cottage in quiet surroundings, which is comfortable and well equipped with two spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, then you will be happy here. The 5 minute walk into Bakewell is another bonus as you will find plenty of places to eat, shop, sit by the river and have access in and out to all the other delightful places to visit in this area, without having to drive miles to reach them. We found the cottage as described and would be happy to visit again.

A delightful cottage with all the mod cons you require for a comfortable holiday, beautifully maintained with many original features. In our many years of self catering holidays this is probably the cleanest let we have rented. We took my parents who are 83 and 80 and they coped very well with the stairs and loved every thing about the place. Highly recommended.
