Santa Margherita Ligure is located on the Ligurian Riviera di Levante, in a closed basin in the northwestern part of the Portofino promontory, and in the inner part of the Tigullio Gulf. The center, located east of Genoa, is surrounded by hills covered with Mediterranean vegetation with views of the so-called "Costa dei Delfini", which links the city to Portofino. The town is a well-known seaside resort on the Riviera di Levante.
Part of the municipal territory of Santa Margherita Ligure is included in the Regional Natural Park of Portofino.
32 kms away from Santa Margherita is Genoa, well-known port city and capital of Liguria region, is historically known for its important role in maritime trade over the past centuries.
Known as one of the most extensive medieval historical centers in Europe, the heart of Genoa is a maze of alleys that unexpectedly open up into small squares, often related, like the churches overlooking them, to important noble families.
The spirit of Genoa lies in the alleys, where different smells, tastes, languages and cultures perfectly blend in.
In the historical center is the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, in Romanesque style with a black and white striped façade and frescoed interiors. Narrow streets lead to monumental squares such as the Piazza de Ferrari, with its characteristic bronze fountain, and the Carlo Felice opera house.
The Genoa aquarium, the largest in Europe, is unmissable and iconic. The exhibition itinerary shows more than 70 environments and about 12,000 specimens of 600 species, coming from all the seas of the world. An unforgettable experience for young and old, which will fill your heart with emotions and a deeper respect for the sea and its extraordinary inhabitants.
Not to be missed is Genoa’s culinary tradition, with its iconic basil pesto, famous all over the world, and the “focaccia”, which can be either salted and topped with olives, onion and tomato, or even sweet and stuffed.

The place was clean and cozy just like the pictures. With only one key given to the building and unit, it made it complicated 2 people being away separately at the same time. The home is relatively close to Strada Provinciale, which is were you will find a lot of the happenings in Santa Margherita, it is still a few blocks. Even though Santa Margherita is known to be safe, After dinner one night, we felt eerie to walk home in the dark as a group of all girls.
Overall, we enjoyed the home!

We had a lovely stay. Central location, near town, can walk to Portofino, with beautiful national park. Hosts gave some excellent restaurant recommendations. Flat comfortable. Recommended!

Santa Margherita Via Dogali
The apartment is clean and spacious. The location is great. Basics required to live there for a week are included. The host was not particularly helpful in providing instructions and information. We had a lot of trouble working the lock on the front door and could have used some tips. We enjoyed our stay but didn't feel very welcome.

Appartement agréable
Séjour très agréable car l'appartement est fonctionnel et d'une grande propreté. Très bonne situation à proximité du bord de mer et des services de proximité.

Great apartment for Work-vacation
Nice, spacious apartment. We stayed there to work remotely and that was great. Good wifi, two separate rooms to work from. Coffee breaks and aperitivo on the balcony in the sun. Super short walking distance from bars and restaurants.
