One of those places which in picture seem less promising then when you actually arrive. It was a very nice surprise to see how beautiful the building and surroundings are, the cleanness and the helpful stuff.
Nice free parking in front of the building which is a must for people that travel with a lowered and delicate car like us.
Really a good value for money.
Everything was good and more than expected

The place was very pleasant and very easy to get there. Parking on site is a plus. the rooms were spacious and, because the hotel is an old house, expect some not so modern finishes. Good TV and good views from the room windows. Very close to supermarket and the beach. Breakfast was good.
Unfortunately, we were there during a storm, so we found that the windows don't close properly and the room was a bit flooded. The room was clean, but there's definitely room for improvement too. The bathtub is a hazard, there's no mat on the floor so it's very slippery and dangerous.

The location is great, close to the sea and to Bilbao. There is a big lawn around the hotel, and one could sit outside for a drink or breakfast. The building is very nicely refurbished. The room was very nicely decorated, spatious, with a balkony and a great view. The bathroom was nice. The staff was nice as well.

Gorgeous building, great location for Bakio, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Nothing comes to mind

The staff was really friendly and helpful. We really appreciated that.
The property is well located, a few mins walk away from the beach, a big supermarket and the easy to reach by car and bus. The parking is also very big and we found it safe.
We also appreciated that many personal care items were available in the room (comb, shaving kit, toothbrush kit..)
Honestly, we thought that the Hosteria needs some renovation. We liked the type of property but it is visibly in need of some retouching (walls, bathroom, …)

Lovely old house, in a quiet area within easy walking distance of the town through parkland. Just a few minutes walk from bus stop. Comfortable room with fridge, bottled water and toiletries. Excellent breakfast for just €6.
The windows didn't close very well,

The location, the staff and very comfortable beds
The bathroom is in need of renovation.

Lovely restoration of heritage building.

Good location, parking on site, staff friendly and helpful bed comfortable and clean sheets and towels. All you need for travelling, we just prefer better attention to the whole property to create the ambiance.
Outside area needed attention, weeding, etc. Garden furniture could have been better, lounger available also for enjoying to outside space. Some of the repairs and renervations to the property not of a good standard (ie the floor boards in the bedroom felt like you would go through if you didn't tread carefully, grouting in the bathroom looked bad made it difficult to look clean)

Very spacious and enjoyed the view from our windows. 1 min walk from bus. 10 min walk to town.

Plenty of parking space and nice garden.
Highly recommended!

great location, big backyard and easy walk to the beach and the city center. big parking lot; there’s a shop really close as well as some cafes. good breakfast and nice staff
there’s no noise isolation so you hear people walking in the corridor and in the room next to you
4.5
Family business. Beautiful building and garden, full of character. Super friendly host, made us all feel very welcome. Happy to improvise some quick breakfast after a long walk along the coast. It's an easy 10 min walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants along the beachfront. Very family-friendly town.
The actual bedroom furniture could be a bit better. Usual IKEA-style stuff. Nothing wrong with it but for such a beautiful traditional building, perhaps a little investment on higher quality, more solid, traditional furniture would be more suitable and in-keeping with surroundings.
There is no restaurant which is ok but I think when you are touring you dont necessarily want to go shopping so having some basic snacks / sandwiches on offer would be welcome.

After quite some research about the area, this place is best location for visiting Gaztelugatxe if you come by car.
It should be a very quiet overnight ( as it is surrounded by divine nature), unless you end up being there during the German Shepard world championships….😱. those dogs have to wake up early and with them… the whole house is wide awake at 4 am!

Quite hotel in an old building that has been remodeled. The place was clean, the room was nice, bed was good. There is no AC but temperature was cold so it was good (I would not stay here in summer). The lady at reception very nice and helpful. Free parking onsite.
very nice place in general

Beds were good, cozy room, reception gentlemen very helpful. We got there in the rain. Helped bring luggage in.
Shower head had to be held. No coffee/tea in room

our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable- the young lady at reception did her best to make our stay pleasant
room was a little small

Very friendly and helpful staff. Charming rooms, in a beautiful location.
Enjoyed every moment of my trip!
Highly Recommend!!

very good location and outdoor space and the house itself is nice
the quality of the building/reconstruction is poor: could hear everything from next rooms, windows did not shut properly and light gets in from everywhere, outside and inside, bathroom not very practical, not to mention some awkward details in the building

Beautiful old converted basque building in quiet, spacious setting yet only 10 mins walk from beach, restaurants etc. Very welcoming staff and comfortable sleep. Lovely breakfast at very reasonable price. Highly recommend for a stay with or without your dog in Bakio.
