About this house rental
Staying at Gather at Avila is an ultimate beach experience. At the home's main level is a bedroom with ensuite, the great room, dining and kitchen areas. The open living spaces opens to the oversized terrace with the Bbq center, or relax in the outdoor furniture taking in Avila's warm days with the site and sounds of wave watching.
The great room features a beautiful rock fireplace and 14' vaulted ceilings. The kitchen is defined by a large 8 ft granite island with ample seating for conversation and informal snacking. This combination of spaces allows everyone to belly-up, kick back, bbq, hob-nob and share the day's adventures while watching the chef whips up taste morsels. Off of the kitchen are a huge well-stocked pantry and spacious laundry room.
While the main level encourages gatherings and fun, there are two more decks with big ocean views. A smaller deck is off the master bedroom. The 18' x 14' master deck also has with mini kitchenette. The roof deck is perfect for sunset margaritas or a chilled glass of chardonnay from the fridge while you bbq spicy local sausages and k-bobs. The roof deck is accessed by a user-friendly interior stairway. Up top the view is Avila panoramic.
The master bedroom features a granite bath and walk-in shower, windows with views of the ocean, a king bed and large walk in closet. The other two upstairs bedrooms each have window seats from which you can look out over the golf course across the street, and all of the upstairs rooms are vaulted and spacious. One of the upper bedrooms features a queen bed and the other a bunk bed and separate single for the kids. Every window offers views of classic Avila: the surrounding hills, the distant hotel, the homes above the beach, and the beach side shops and restaurants.
The downstairs bedroom opens out to a small patio and the green beauty of the golf links across the street.
Although the bathroom openings are not wheel chair accessible width, there are stair lifts from the garage to the main level and from the main level to the second floor.
The two car garage below is large enough to easily hold two vehicles and there is room for two more vehicles onsite just off of beach colony lane. There is an outdoor shower to rinse the salt water and sand from body and wet suits. You can pack the wagon with folding chairs, ice chest, blankets, boogie boards and umbrella for the short stroll to the sand. There is a variety of beach toys from which to choose as well. If you get to beach and forgot your camera the walk back to the house takes all of three minutes. The terminus for the Avila trolley which runs to shell beach and back is just out the front door, and the bob jones bike trail starts just across the street and runs to slo, shell, and the five cities. You can literally walk across the street and bike to rural wineries and city shops and restaurants.

Perfect house. Perfect location. Had everything and more for our family reunion.
8 of us stayed but we used the house for dinner it fit all 20 of us very comfortably.
In the garage they had beach stuff for our use! It was perfect!

We booked this property for the first time this year and it did not disappoint. It was just as described and as beautiful as shown in the pictures We were a block off the beach with easy access to shops and restaurants.
The property was very clean and well stocked. We highly recommend. It was truly one of our most memorable family vacations.

This was a great house for a group as there is space to gather in the primary level. The open concept was perfect and allowed everyone to feel together. It was very easy to walk to the beach or town.

This was our sixth time to rent this beautiful home. We are a group of 10 friends who get together on an annual basis. The home is perfect for our needs. It is well stocked and in a great location. Loved the fire pit on the rooftop terrace. We enjoyed having ping pong, corn hole and a putting green. We had a minor maintenance issue and 7 sisters reacted quickly to fix the problem. We hope to be back!

Property very well appointed—owners new additions very tasteful and high quality. Property was selected because of bedrooms and chair lift on stairs. Despite our phone confirmation that there were 2 bedrooms on main floor , in fact there was one..This conversation was with someone in management office who said she was very familiar with property Told to inform office is needed access to chair lift. This was done one week prior to rental. Upon arrival there was no keys. Person that came got all three chairs operating but could not return them. Next day Kurt and Cheryl came to operate oven and we had them look at chair lift. They tried to figure out how to call lift back and we suggested there should be a remote but they had no knowledge of such a device. The next day I called office and left a message. The next morning Kathryn called and said she left at 3 the day before. She would send a supervisor. No one ever came. This was a major inconvenience for 6 women over 80

The house was great for 6 adults and 2 little ones. Perfect location, beach was super close, and walking distance to everything at Avila Beach. We did go on probably one of the hottest weekends of the year and found out fast that there was no A/C, note to self do not go on the hottest weekend. Would stay here again though, had the beach equipment, loved the corn hole and putting green and ping pong table, made family memories.

Easy. Communication was good with breakdown of fees and payments. The location was perfect for my family to walk to town and beach. House very comfortable and beautiful. This was my summer treat for my family and grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed being together in such a wonderful town.

Overall it was a good family bonding experience but disappointed in the house view. From the images on line, there looks to be a view but that is only from the 4th floor rooftop. The main living floor overlooks a parking lot. Appliances in kitchens we all broken so cooking in house was a challenge. The refrigerator froze our food. Dishwasher racks were broken and could not be pulled out. The furniture in the house is very worn and needs to be replaced-especially the kitchen stools! This house for the price was not a good value and pictures on line are deceiving.
