About this house rental
Welcome to our home away from home. Designed with family in mind! Come enjoy the beauty of False River offering fishing and water activities during the day to relaxing and playing games from the large back porch in the evening. Or simply bring your laptop for a change of scenery and work while looking directly at the beautiful river!
Open floor plan with space for everyone! Prepare meals from a fully stocked kitchen while others enjoy the comfortable living room. Stream movies or watch your favorite Netflix series on the 75 inch Smart TV.
Enjoy the spacious master bedroom with views of the water and an ensuite bathroom complete with relaxing tub to unwind. Catch up on the morning news on the 65 inch Smart TV. Additional bedrooms include a queen guestroom with ensuite bathroom, a king guestroom and a bunkroom that can sleep 6 for the kids. The king guestroom and bunkroom share the 3rd full bathroom so you never have to wait for an available bathroom! Bring your gaming consoles to hook up to the 50 inch Smart TV in the bunkroom.
The large screened in porch is perfect for enjoying meals outside or family game night! Or feel free to bring your favorite wine, a good book and simply relax.
We specifically purchased this property to escape the noise and pace of the city and to entertain our friends and family without compromising all the comforts of home. Not only is the river beautiful, it's calming and peaceful. A real place to come to recharge, catch your breath, and spend some quality time with family. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Please note that there are 5 steps to enter the house for anyone with mobility issues. Please respect quiet hours outside after 10pm as a courtesy to our neighbors. No pets and no smoking.
Fishing is allowed from the pier, however, fishing licenses are required for anyone 16 years of age or older. For more information regarding the necessary licensing criteria or to purchase your license online, please visit https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/page/recreational-fishing-licenses-and-permits. Licenses can also be purchased in person at various local retailers.

Our ladies Soul Circle group stayed at Family Ties for a weekend and it was just perfect. The space was so welcoming and clean, and perfectly accommodated our large group. The kitchen was well stocked and even had two ovens which made cooking for a large group ideal, and there was plenty of space to eat at the indoor island and table. There were also so many great areas to gather in the living room, screened porch (that had an extra fab for the heat!), back patio, and the dock. What a fabulous place to connect with nature and each other and watch beautiful sunsets. The beds (and especially pillows!) were so comfortable. We will definitely be returning, Family Ties is an ideal getaway house!

I booked this outing in January for July 4th. It finally got here. We were all looking forward to it and it was GREAT. We ALL had one (1) complaint about the house - the microwave was under the cabinet. We ALL have back problems and over 70 (HA!). It was hard on us to bend and hard to read the numbers because of bi-folds (HA). Other than "old-ager" complaints the house was beautiful, had up-to-date appliances, comfortable furniture (recliners were great for us 'old-agers'), extremely roomy for seven (7). We truly appreciate the owners allowing others to enjoy their lovely accommodations. Thanks!

We were three couples meeting up at False River. The lake house met all our needs and was a very comfortable stay. The owners are super nice people.

This property was perfect for our 4 household family. The kitchen is very well equipped with tons of counter space. The outdoor space was great and the pier is where we spent most of our time. It’s very nicely furnished and feels like home.

From the moment we walked in the door, it smelled so fresh and welcoming. The beds were beyond comfortable. We enjoyed the games available to play as a family. Definitely was not ready to go home. Only recommend having an ironing board available for use, however, I didn’t attempt to reach out to see if it was located somewhere other than the laundry area. Whenever I needed to contact the host she was readily available. Definitely hope to stay here again, but longer!

The home was beautiful and so very well stocked. We enjoyed prepping meals in the kitchenwith high in and quality applicances and pots, etc. We rented a boat for the weekend and the whole fmaily enjoyed tubing, floating and fishing. We promptly booked another stay in the Fall!

This property was so nice and comfortable for our family getaway with our boat. The 3 rooms with big beds were perfect for our married children and the bunk room was roomy enough to fit our grandkids. Gourmet kitchen was great for preparing all of our meals so we didn’t have to leave for dinner. The pier was large enough with outdoor furniture for us to enjoy being out with our boat. We were able to keep it in the water during our entire stay. Communication with owner was easy and responded immediately. The only thing this home was lacking was a pack n play for infant. I would recommend this place 100%

Like the other reviews stated, this home is beautiful and has everything you can need. It is set up perfectly!
A well equipped kitchen with high end appliances, very nice large TVs, ample seating in every room, very comfortable beds, an abundance of nice towels and blankets and many extras including games! The screened in porch is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the view as well as the pier which also has swings and chairs for you and your guests to enjoy. We cooked out on the 4th using the gas grill in the beautiful back yard.
The lake is so beautiful with easy access to restaurants across the water.
We brought our ski boat and enjoyed our time on the water. We had our children and friends join us and everyone loved the home and enjoyed their stay!

This place is perfect, especially for small children. We had two couples, 6 kids between us. The kids loved the bunk room and we loved that everything was so kid friendly. The single story and fenced in backyard made things so easy. The house is fully stocked, everything you’d need to cook as well as games for game night. We also really loved that “our end” of the lake wasn’t super populated. We took our boat and tubed all weekend, mostly right in front of the camp. Thank you, Jamie, for an incredible weekend! We will be back!

This was a perfect lake house for my family to enjoy. We grew up spending summers at the lake, and we had perfect access to everything we needed. The house was equipped with all the cooking supplies we needed which made the long weekend very convenient. Would recommend this place to anyone.

We booked Family Ties to celebrate my birthday with the whole family and this place exceeded all of our expectations! The location is beautiful and we spent lots of time on the dock, the screened in porch and on the water. The house is beautiful with comfortable beds and furniture and absolutely everything you could ever need in the kitchen. The hosts were so easy to work with, promptly answering all our questions. The house was ready and clean when we arrived. If you want a lake vacation this hits all the marks! We will definitely be back!

This home is really nice and spacious with a beautiful lake frontage and view. I don't think the pictures on the listing do it justice; it is better than advertised. Four bedrooms and three baths accommodated our entire family. An iron fence in the backyard made us feel more secure with our young kids. The fact that it's one story made us feel better about the grandparents' stay.

This home had it all. We didn’t need anything once there other than food. The house was fully stocked, exceptionally clean and BEAUTIFUL. We will be back when visiting our daughter at LSU.

The house is spacious with roomy area's to visit. It was very clean. Decorated nicely. We really enjoyed the back porch in the mornings. We were wanting a home with nice amenities and we found it with this home. The host was professional and answered my questions prior to our arrival. She also responded promptly when we had a question during our stay and we did appreciate that.

The camp was welcoming and very comfortable. It had everything we needed. The only drawback was the lake was so shallow at the end of the dock. The children couldn’t swim off the dock.

We can’t say enough about this beautiful home and the family memories made . The bedrooms are large and beautifully decorated, the kitchen is well stocked with all that is needed for cooking and meal prep, the host is helpful and responds quickly to all messages. . Can’t wait to stay again next year!

Our family loved “Family Ties.” The layout of the house was perfect for our group with such varied ages. Lots of sitting areas inside and outside and kitchen was so very well equipped we were all extremely comfortable.

The perfect getaway weekend!
Six friends gathered to begin our birthday summer and had a simply wonderful time! We enjoyed every sitting area the property offered. The pier furniture is super comfortable and relaxing. The patio seating and fire pit area are great for grilling, the porch is perfect for coffee and dining, and the inside areas are super for dining and movie watching. Everything was well appointed. The kitchen was nicely stocked with necessities, spices, and cleaning supplies. The bathrooms have travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, and makeup removal towelettes. We went into town for the freshest produce at Glaser’s. There’s easy nearby shopping for other supplies for groceries and fishing. This property is very highly recommended!!

if you a have an LSU grad and want a fantastic place to stay, this is the place. It slept all 10 of us comfortable. It's well appointed, complete with hair dryer, laundry, body wash, shampoo, 2 beautiful outdoor spaces. We never felt cramped. But this kitchen is unbelievable, fit for a professional cook! It appears like you're a ways from the campus and Baton Rouge, but we got there in 25 minutes, this place is so worth the drive. Hands down, the best online place I've ever rented. Communication with the owner was seemless too!
