Quiet countryside location. Thank you for the goodies provided.
Google location is inaccurate. The lodge is at least 2 km away from the Mace garage. Communication about the accommodation was received late and we spent a frustrating time trying to locate the lodge. Hot shower was only available in the en-suite as there was no power in the other bathroom.

The house is situated in the beautiful countryside of Shanagolden with a perfect view of Shanid Castle and it's only a three minute drive from the village which was ideal. The scones on arrival were such a lovely touch from the owner and were much appreciated.. It's a great house and was loved by everyone who stayed there. We will definitely book this house again in the future.

Met our expectations. Great location and grounds.
Property was cold when we arrived quite late. Would have liked it to have been a bit warmer. However we do understand that the property had been lying empty and it did warm up over the next 24 hours.

Scones on arrival, Location and contact from our hosts Teresa and Kevin. Situated on a very quite road just outside Shanagolden. 2 mins drive or 15-20 min walk to the town centre. Great pub (the old stand) but only open Thursday-Sunday. Loved the Cows in the field next door, early morning entertainment! Great base for discovering old towns, castles and beaches. Visit Inch beach and Dingle, well worth it.
Nothing really, all you need for a place to stay and visit some of Irelands fantastic places.

We loved the location - right in the heart of the countryside. The property had a rustic feel but was very comfortable. And the neighbours were so friendly and helpful - it was such a lovely place to stay.
Nothing! We loved it! And so did our dog!

The surroundings were beautifull and private, the house was very clean, fully appointed and comfy.
Theresa and Kevin, our hosts were very attentive to any and all needs, left some scrumptious scones, jam butter and tea upon our arrival and visiting us before leaving to get our feedback. Fantastic stay for us!

Very Nice hosts. Nice rural location, yet near Limerick (half hour drive). Near the sea - ten to fifteen mins drive. Nice sleepy village with a nice local pub and takeaway (petrol station etc). House was clean, large, airy, quiet, with most of the extras you might need. Happy.
Nothing to really complain about. Nice place to stay for a quiet break. Minor item-sitting room couch not very comfortable but otherwise recommended.

Pretty much as it looks in photos and described... the Sporting Lodge is in a quiet, peaceful part of the countryside. Surrounded by green and birdsong and cows. The property was bigger than expected and there's a spacious yard with a picnic table for sitting in the sun. And from the top corner of the yard you can see the old ruins of a castle, sitting on a hill in the distance.
Shanagolden village is about a 25 minute walk away, along a quiet country road, where there's a small grocery store for essentials and a pub serving food. For bigger shops there's an Aldi in Newcastle West, about a 15 minute drive away. The town of Foynes (with Flying Boat Museum!) and the Shannon Estuary Way coastal route is a quick drive away, too.
Theresa, the host, was fast to respond to any questions.
