Fabulous location.
We were between properties, having vacated our old house in Bucks on 10th and unable to complete in Norfolk until 21st. Peddars Cottage filled that gap with a home from home experience. Great location, spotless cottage with every facility we could wish for. Great comms from host.
One word of warning, the local pub, The Ostrich. Massively overrated and over priced. The George and Dragon down the road was better value, better quality fayre and very friendly.

We stayed at Peddars Cottage for a long weekend. The house is perfect for a family. The rooms are bright, spacious, airy and the decor is modern and tasteful.
The owners provide some added extras which really make the difference to your stay here. Things like soap already in each room with a sink, kitchen towel, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products and the extra special touch of goodies for your four legged friend joining the trip.
The house has room for 6 but there were only 4 of us (humans!). Usually you have just enough cutlery and crockery but this is not the case at Peddars Cottage, more than enough!
Debbie was excellent at keeping in touch and even messaged us before we travelled to let us know the local pub was dog friendly and had a Greek BBQ night on while we were there (it was lovely!).
The check in and out were great, really easy and convenient. An emergency contact given for while we stayed and a useful manual in the house.
The house has a small court yard outside which is tastefully decorated with plenty of seating options, plants and lighting. A lovely little area to soak up the sun in while reading a book (which I did!).
Can't recommend the place highly enough. So many things to do on the doorstep - walks, paddles in the Ford, local history with the Castle and Priory, nice pub, chippy and spar shop close by. The village is beautiful and peaceful. There is also a children's play area up the road too.
We would love to return again soon and may even bring more family with is this time. If you are considering Peddars Cottage I would say book it, you won't regret it.

A perfect home from home
Debbie has been a perfect hostess - great communication before and throughout our stay. The house is very comfortable and well equipped to a high standard with every you need for a relaxing stay. Despite being in the heart of the village, the location was extremely quiet and peaceful. Lovely walks from the doorstep. Really couldn’t ask for more.

Immaculately presented property in historic Norfolk setting
Our group stayed at Peddar's Cottage for 5 nights . Our immediate impression was that our expectations were exceeded. The cottage was very well equipped and incredibly clean. It was bright, modern yet homely . Clearly a lot of thought and care had been put into its presentation.
It is situated in the heart of Castle Acre and is close to both historic sites and amenities. We were able to plan a variety of day trips taking in a steam railway, Sandringham, Sheringham, Wells next the Sea and various other attractions and villages , all with the minimum of driving.
Debbie , the owner, is a delight to deal with and we can highly recommend Peddar's Cottage as a vacation rental.

We had a lovely stay, the house was immaculate and the beds were so comfy. The little garden was perfect for a morning coffee in the sunshine and the little village was lovely to explore. Both the castle ruins and the priory are a short walk, there is a small Spar shop which had fresh bakery products and butcher quality meat. The house felt safe and homey, Debbie was great giving us our space but just a quick text away if we needed her. Thank you for the lovely stay, we hope to visit again soon!

Top Class Accommodation!
Lovely cottage in the centre of this historic village. Home from home. Beautifully clean, very comfortable beds, and a private courtyard with sofa and dining table which was a real bonus. Debbie was very helpful and provided extra information, making for a perfect stay. I would definitely recommend a stay at Peddars Cottage - if visiting the area again, I would be checking out this place first!

We stayed in this cottage in July 2021. We have stayed in many cottages, but I was honestly stunned at how clean this property was….somebody obviously works very hard here! Beds were comfy too. The village is unspoilt and so tranquil, full of history and we really felt part of old England staying here. We ate at the Dabbling Duck and the Crown Inn both approx 15 minutes drive away and well worth a visit. Location is perfect, would highly recommend.

We wanted a quiet stay for us and our 15 yr old standard schnauzer, Lola. We picked this beautiful cottage in the heart of very scenic Norfolk with wonderful walks and lazy sunny afternoons.. This lovely cottage more than adequately equipped for the perfect getaway seemed spot on. We weren’t disappointed. The host has been fantastic, communicative and very helpful. Would highly recommend. PS Lola had a lovely time too.

We stayed in Peddars Cottage for 3 nights and had a lovely time, it was perfect for us. Debbie was very helpful and superquick at answering my questions before we left, and when we arrived everything was as described and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed during our stay.Castle Acre is a very pretty little village with a some lovely walks and we were very lucky with the weather. A highlight for us was West Acre Gardens (and the cafe) which is only a short drive away. We also went to the beach and Hindringham Hall. Of note is that two of our family group were working from the cottage, sometimes on video/zoom calls and the Internet link was excellent and never failed. We would definitely return and highly recommend Peddars Cottage

Pleasant stay in Castle Acre
Location was great and our trip was very enjoyable! It was a bit hard to find -- be sure to read the PDF directions the host emails before arrival. Otherwise, no complaints. A lovely home and interesting area.

Absolutely beautiful!
My husband, 5 year old and I, as well as our two friends and their dog had an absolutely perfect weekend at Peddars Cottage. From the get-go (even before we'd booked), Debbie was super helpful and clear in communication, especially as she and Bill had just bought and renovated the house.
It didn't disappoint - all the rooms were immaculate, comfy, roomy and had absolutely everything we needed. It was designed so beautifully with a lovely colour scheme throughout, making the whole house feel very peaceful and inviting. The courtyard outside was a wonderful little suntrap for mornings and afternoons reading outdoors with a cuppa!
The location itself is amazing - we all loved the little village we were in. The cottage is walking distance to the Spar, amazing playground for our son, fish n chip shop (which was delicious) as well as being smack bang in the middle of both the Priory (you need pre-booked tickets to get in... but we walked around the outside and could see plenty, with the added bonus of endless countryside and stream - idyllic!) and the Castle ruins which again provided amazing views and were enjoyed by us all.
We ventured to Snettisham beach one day (35min drive) too, lovely, although may try a different beach next time due to the quick sand.
We literally had nothing to fault about Peddars Cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone! Thank you Debbie for a wonderful weekend.
