The house includes 3 wrap around decks, a bunk room for kids, and separate spaces on the main floor to watch TV, play games, and socialize! This is one of the most convenient locations in Sunset Island and provides easy access to all the amazing community amenities while also just being a short 5 min walk to the ocean. Sunset Island is a 37 acre private community that includes an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a kiddie pool, a kids splash fountain, 3 bayfront beaches, walking path, gym, general store and restaurant with bar all within a few blocks. 18 Island Edge Dr. is a five-bedroom, three full and 2 half bath townhouse with everything you need for a carefree visit to OC.
This former model home sits on the corner and features three large wrap-around balconies and an additional upper balcony, which allows multiple areas to enjoy the fresh air or sip drinks and watch the Sunset. Sit in the shade on the first level porch, feel like you are in the trees on the second level off the main living area, then sun and enjoy peek-a-boo ocean views from the top 2 balconies. Inside, the spacious open floor plan offers 2 large living areas so the whole family can spread out and have their space. This house boasts a fully-equipped kitchen with a double oven, free WiFi, 6 flat screen smart TVs including a massive 75 inch TV in the den (2 set up with cable and the others with streaming capabilities and free content) and a full-size washer/dryer.

***For security purposes, this home uses surveillance devices to monitor the outside of the property. The 2 areas monitored are the parking area behind the garage and the front doors via a smart doorbell.
***Please note, there is a mandatory guest fee which gets you six facility passes and three parking passes for inside and behind the garage only. Additional facility passes are $70 per pass, per person, per week.
Parking Notes: Parking permits are required at Sunset Island and you will receive the appropriate passes in your check-in packet. You will receive 3 green passes to allow you to park in the garage and parking pad only. Parking anywhere outside of the designated assigned garage space is a parking violation and subject to ticketing and towing. You must ensure that your vehicle fits completely in the space. For parties with more than 3 vehicles, there are sometimes available spaces on 67th and 68th street just outside the sunset island entrance. Oversized vehicles and trailers are not permitted. Parking is strictly enforced and vehicles not abiding by rules may be subject to towing at the owner's expense. Parking permits must be displayed at all times.

We stayed here with my family and loved every minute. Beautiful gated neighborhood. Pool and private beach access. 3 min walk to cafe. House had plenty of room for all to gather. Host were very quick to respond with any questions or requests. I would definitely stay here again or recommend to a friend!!! Thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home on Sunset Island. The home is well maintained and convenient. We appreciated that it was away from the hustle bustle of the boardwalk, but close enough that the teens could bike there. The unit was as described, and the kitchen is well stocked. The main living room is comfortable and was utilized throughout our stay. We used three of the five bedrooms and found the beds to be comfortable. There are tons of boogie boards, beach toys, and a pool wagon to haul everything to the beach.Communication with the owners was amazing. They were very responsive to our questions prior to the trip and when I contacted them as the unit did not have an iron, they had an iron delivered within a couple hours along with a snack treat for my son and his friend. Sunset Island has much to offer and the home is situated in a location that makes it a quick walk or bike ride to everything in the development. There's also a very nice restaurant and shopping plaza that's a quick 5 minute walk at most. The owners are extremely organized and emailed a packet of information and instructions to us prior to our stay.The only complaint we had was the level of noise outside late (2:30 am) one night. There are strict curfews, but apparently security did not enforce them that night. Clearly though that is not the fault of the owners. Maggie and Beau are excellent hosts, and we highly recommend considering their home on your next trip to Ocean City.

This rental property was wonderful! Gorgeous from top to bottom, stocked with amenities, and in an absolutely prime location. Everything was clean, well kept, inviting, and designed for comfort. Plenty of space for a large family to lounge without tripping over each other. The house is located on Sunset Island, a private beach community on the bay that I didn't even know existed until booking. It's within walking distance of a small strip mall, mini-golf course, and the ocean beaches are right across the street, yet it's separated from the main strip by a bridge with a security checkpoint that is manned around the clock. There are private beaches on the bay, pools, a tiki bar, convenience store, and one street in particular has beautiful fountains that are lit up 24/7. Renters can alternate between the quiet of a private island or the bustle of a beach town at their leisure. Many Ocean City attractions are within walking distance, and you can drive to the rest in 5 minutes. The owners, Maggie and Beau, were highly professional. They touched base with us shortly after check-in and made sure we knew they were readily available. I had some questions while settling in and they made it a point to respond ASAP, giving me the utmost confidence that they would promptly respond to any issue. This property gets an A+ across the board, and I highly recommend it to any renters looking to enjoy all that Ocean City has to offer. Will definitely be renting here again!!

The house was clean and the property manager was responsive. The only issue I really had to contact her for was to request sheets for the sleep sofa (which I didn't think about doing in advance.) She replied quickly and the sheets arrived well before bed time.
Love that they provided plenty of beach chairs and a wagon to haul things to the beach as it is a little hike although for Sunset Island it is one of the closer houses to get to the ocean. We had stayed closer to the bay last year and it was nicer to be a little closer to the ocean this year.
The only thing that I can think of that would be nice would be some nicer deck furniture on the upper decks. The 1st and 2nd floors have nice adironack chairs.

We originally booked a different rental through Vacasa and had a horrible experience. Beau and Maggie helped us make last-minute arrangements and get moved into their BEAUTIFUL townhome the same day. This townhome was spotless and perfectly decorated. The kid's room is impressive and you can tell a lot of thought went into the design. Our entire family was happy and comfortable. Thank you for saving our vacation!

This was our first time staying in Ocean City. We were in Maryland for a wedding, and wanted to stay at a place the kids could enjoy while my wife and I were at the wedding. We were very happy to have picked this property. The house was so cute! We also found the community quite charming and peaceful. The kids loved the bunk bed room, and the adults were happy to have so much space (we stayed with my brother and his family). Our rental was during the off-season, so unfortunately some of the community amenities were not available. However, we were only a five minute walk to the beach, and because it was off-season pricing, we feel like we got a great value. Lastly, the owners were very accommodating and easy to deal with. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking to rent in the area!

This house and community had a great beach vibe and felt truly like a home away from home! The top floor bedroom had a unique set up that even adults loved. The decks were so spacious for 10 adults to spend some time together outside without leaving the house and play some games. The house was well cleaned and prepared for us prior to check in time. The organization and extras that the house had like beach chairs, kitchen appliances & gadgets, board games, linens, etc was amazing and definitely set apart from other rentals on Sunset Island. The property managers were readily available to answer any questions prior to and during the stay. They were also willing to work with us on checkin and checkout times that made traveling that much easier. Highly highly recommend this property!

We had a great time staying in this beautiful house. The space was great for our crew. Plenty of room for the adults and kids to have their own spaces to sleep and hang. Being walking distance from Sweet Frog and Longboard restaurant was a huge plus. The kids enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and walking around the community. The owners were also great with communication! Definitely a wonderful place to stay!

This is a very nice community, and you do not need to really go out for a beach. The location is close to everything, such as resaurants and other stores. We would defenitely recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful time and the hosts were incredibly accommodating. The kitchen was well-supplied and there were games for the kids. Beds were comfy and the house was spotless. Fantastic location!

The property is in a great location, about equal distance between the ocean and the bay. Our family especially liked the bay and the pool area plus there are several places to eat and get supplies. While we felt comfortably isolated on the island, it was just a short walk to a grocery store, and plenty of dining and entertainment establishments. Only downsides were lack of adequate parking for a large family and limited amenities on the ground floor (no dresser or shower). We enjoyed our stay and would return if our family got a little smaller.

Great week in OC
Our family had a great week at this spacious home on Sunset Island over Fourth of July week. We had adults, teens and a toddler, and there was room for all to spread out and plenty to do on property and within walking distance to keep everyone active! We had a minor glitch with check-in and Maggie was immediately accessible and got everything sorted out right away. Great property and great hosts!

To start I should say that I am a very picky person :) I travel a lot and and the accommodations are a big decision when I go to a location.
I selected Sunset Island as a specific location because I was traveling with two teenagers. SI offers a safe haven for responsible teens as they can walk throughout the development safely but still have things to do. The fountains, bay beach, “corner” store and community walkways allow the kids to be free, but safe. If they venture out of the gated community they can safely go to a few stores and get ice cream without crossing Coastal Highway and that was important to me.
In regards to the home, it was exactly as listed. There were only five of us. My husband and three kids and we had an abundance PLUS of space. We had hoped friends could visit but it didnt work out. In my opinion, two separate families could share this home and still have extra space. The first floor bedroom is away from it all and has a bathroom with it, perfect of travelling with in-laws. What the photos do not show is that there are three wrap around decks and one smaller private one. All furnished. We spent a ton of time on them! The top floor bedroom with the four bunks was perfect, be advised there is a deck off of that room so if you travel with littles that may be a concern. The kitchen was very well appointed and the mattress in the master was AMAZING and I have a bad back. My youngest said it was the most comfortable he had ever slept on. I appreciated basic necessities at check like toilet paper and garbage bags. They have a Keurig and regular coffee maker, :). Two living spaces allow everyone to spread out. Beach chairs and a wagon to transport were in the garage. Huge TV and massive sectional sofa in living room.
I will stay there again for sure. As my kids age I may leave Sunset Island for an oceanside location but this is the area to stay for many more years. The Owners also had this so very organized. I received a text with my entry code and never felt like I didn’t have the information that I needed. They checked on us :) and communicated every step of the way. It was actually the easiest VRBO I have stayed it.
Also if you have really young ones, the bird on the porch is reminiscent of the bird from Pixar’s UP (different color) but the little guy was obsessed.

Kids range from 2-13 years old and they all had a blast on the bay floating around on rafts and searching for hermit crabs. Also can order drinks/lunch to your chair (fabulous). Pool there as well. Just a short 2 min walk to the ocean beach and had tons of fun there too. Wrap around decks perfect for coffee in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

The property was perfectly situated should we want the pool, bayside beach, or the ocean beach which the young'uns preferred in the AM and the pool in the PM. The kitchen is well-stocked with just about anything you'd want, including a Ninja blender which was perfect for slushies. I think there was a TV in every room and most had available streaming channels. If there was a downside, it was the air conditioning system which kept us cool, but at different temperatures on each floor. I mentioned this to the owner who said they would have an HVAC company see if they can balance it. That certainly was not a deal breaker.
